+ 1 Carrier oil and acne question
ad
Roughly 4 months ago I started developing acne on my shoulders and back while on TRT. I was using () source Come to find out some of the bottles were underdosed and I was on a hormone rollercoaster. I got bloods done and estro was high. Started aromasin and acne slowed but didn't stop.
Recently I switch to () source which is a clear oil vs. brownish/tan oil. Sven is pretty much all gone after switching. Sure my estro is probably in check now, will get bloods to confirm. Im not educated enough in the carrier oil and want to know what the difference is in clear vs brown and can this have an effect on acne?

Hello Bugguy,
If youre not allergic to the carrier oil then it must be related directly to the hormones in your body which is affected by the Steroids you use. (Not the brand nor the oil).
It may be related to either Progesterone that stimulate but also rise the production of Sebum in your body or the high levels of Testosterone.
And what is Sebum? Sebum is a thick, oily substance that acts as a natural skin lubricant.
And as levels of progesterone increase, skin swells and pores are compressed shut, as a result, pores never looked so minimized. But this tourniquet effect also causes sebum to build up beneath the skin’s surface.
Higher testosterone levels from your Steroids further activate the sebaceous glands to make even more sebum.
Sebum yields different effects in different men. “For some, it produces a healthy glow; for others, it creates a chronic oil slick. The oil provides food for the bacterium P. acnes. This bacterium causes increased breakouts and inflammation on your body.
Things you can do:
- Avoid touching your face; your hands introduce dirt and bacteria.
- Clean your cell phone regularly; phones breed a lot of bacteria, and you hold them against the most vulnerable area to hormonal acne: your jaw line and chin. But in your case it is on your shoulders.
- When you work out at the gym, cover all mats with a towel; don’t put your face or body in other people’s germs.
- Don’t smoke; smoking is a contributory factor to all types of acne.
In worst case you can use:
Isotretinoin (Accutane) can be a real skin saver. Accutane is a natural derivative of vitamin A. The drug comes with a number of side effects so please only use it if necessary and in worst case nothing else helps.

Thanks for the great answer +1
StevebCarrier oil does not cause acne.
First, edit out the source names.
Second, it's most likely your esto and unstable blood levels. I'm in TRT and I got acne and it took me many months of AI to get my acne back under control.
The carrier oil should have nothing to do with it, unless you're allegic to it, but you'd get hives and not acne.
It's nice to know it takes other people a while to dial in AI usage. Took me close to two months and it got frustrating. My doc wanted to give me an organic AI that anyone could buy in the vitamin aisle!!!
It took me months as well to get my acne under control. I was under the false impression that I didn't need any AI with my TRT. My first bloods were okay, but a few month later, after my acne broke out, my bloods showed it was high. I never had any other estro symptoms either. I'm on aromasin ED and it does the job.
Also, you need to find a pinning schedule that keeps your test levels fairly constant. That helps as well.
I'm also on aromasin every day, I just creeped up the dosage slowly until estro lowered. Takes 19mg daily to keep in check. I break my shots up into 2 weeks otherwise I start to feel crappy end of week
Twice a week is good. I went to test-u several months ago and pin once a week (with the longer ester) and that helped my acne and how I feel. I'm basically free from acne now (a small pimple here and there is all).
It's all about figuring out what works for you. Glad to see you're well on the path. Best of luck.
I'm not promoting or reviewing either source, I don't believe I have to remove them?
I know some people the oil clogs their pores and I thought maybe a thicker/thinner oil would cause that.i don't seem to get as oily skin on the clear oil carrier vs the other.
Thanks
There is no mentioning any sources in the forums, regardless of why they're there.
The amount of oil you're using would not cause or contribute to acne.
Edited thanks man
I have never heard of the carrier oil as a potential cause of acne. In my opinion, I don't think the carrier oil should make a hill of beans whether or not it could be the root cause of the acne. The acne has to do with the active compound (or lack there of) which will cause hormone fluctuations and hence acne.
Thanks bro
