shin splints

ad

I was an avid runner last year about 10 miles a day. I started using aas and my shins began to feel like they were going to explode while running. it got to the point where i had to stop running altogether. Has anyone experienced these symptoms. I was running tren and i've heard that tren can have similar effects. I also know that shin splints are caused by the calf muscle being larger and stronger than the shin musle which could be a result of aas use. any thoughts would help

Just my .02 cents. As the aas starts working my red blood cell count goes up. I notice a few days after donating blood I can increase the intensity of my cardio. Shin splints decrease and I also don't get as winded as quickly. Some good advice below to.. Good luck

U donate blood and it helps the cramps?

JL's picture

I wouldn't use the word cramps. As your rbc goes up your blood gets thicker making it harder for your blood to circulate. When you donate blood your body will replace the lost volume of fluid mostly with water, thinning the blood. Easing up on circulation. Example: it's Easier to push water through a hose then syrup. Make sense.

Ru taking any orals??? Cuz it's happens to me all the time it sucks but since I got off my running feels a lot stronger and I run in soft sand painful as fuck

I was taking adex clen and t3. It could have been any of them

None of the above should cause an issue.

I'm guessing it was the tren then. It was serious. I could barely get a 1/2 mile. I'm gonna try the taurine supp. Tho

I had the same exact problem while running tren. I only run when playing soccer/doing HIIT and it was completely unbearable with the pumps/shin splints. Like someone mentioned earlier, Taurine does help and the proper running shoes help as well. I found that shoes with more of a barefoot feel worked best for me. I use Nike Free Hyperfeel TR and they have helped a lot. These pretty much resemble sprinter shoes for track running and they're super comfy due to the FlyKnit design

Barefoot has always been best for me. I think I really need to go back to that

Stop running on pavement. Once I got over 250 my shins could not take it. Switched to running on grass. Shins, ankles and knees feel much better. But regardless, they're still gonna catch a wicked pump.

thanks a lot bro. i think the pavement is what did it to me. i recently came home from prison and running on dirt and the change def messed me up

I tried an all weather track surface too. Still had issues, was definitely better, but boring as hell running in circles. The salesman said I would need to buy very high end, cushioned running shoes if I was going to run on anything other than grass or learn to run without striking the heal. Tried that. Calves could not do it for more than half a mile. Hard as hell.

New Balance 990. I got a sweet deal on the ugly tan ones. Usually about $150. Worth every penny.

I'll even lend you my husky to run with you. He gets tired, (sometimes), after a few hours ;)

I take about 5g of taurine when I kickstart with Dbol to dial down the shin and back pumps. I got them so bad that I was forced to lay on the floor in the gym and ride them out a few times... The taurine helped tons, but as pin said make sure you hydrate. The taurine isn't going to do much if you're dehydrated.

sehornd's picture

i def get back too. i've never done taurine but i wil start. i a redbull no carb sufficient?

The Impastable's picture

No, go to Amazon and get taurine tablets. Get the 1,000mg ones or higher if you can find because you don't want to be popping 10 taurine pills a day if they're only 500mg...

sehornd's picture

ok and this will help with my running?

The Impastable's picture

It'll help ease the shin splits and back pumps, it worked wonders for me. I still get them time to time, but it's because I don't stay hydrated enough sometimes (ie. I drink too much coffee on some days I'm tired)

sehornd's picture

i usually take potassium because i figured it was a deficiency but i will try the others included. I also get muscle cramps when i yawn/stretch which i figured was also potassium def. thanks for the info

Taurine, potassium, and magnesium will help. Make sure you are drinking enough water especially while on AAS. I got severe leg pump one day, because I didn't drink enough water that day on top of 2 cups of coffee. Watch your sodium intake also.
