How often do you train abs?
ad
I've been training abs twice a week, but I'm not getting the results I want. How often do others train abs? Any favorite exercises? What days you to train abs (chest/tri day, etc.)? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

almost never abs are mainly made in the kitchen in my personal experience. you abs are being activated with nearly every lift
For about a month now, I've been on it 20 minutes ED.. starting to see great results bro.. really got to squeeze and contract those bad boys bro.
imsom12Ya. Bro ive never worked abs squats and lots of heavy lifting guess did the trick for me because I got pretty nice abs. But its hard to see your abs if you got any belly fat
Heavy squats had popped out my abs alot over the years believe it or not....but its all in your bodyfat% bud.
I do alot of heavy ab movements when i train em...i hit abs 2-3xs a week.
Squats are great. Haven't been able to do them since I blew out my knee. Maybe I'll try some light squats. Thanks.
7 days a week. 20 min every day. 3 sets of the following
Of course, abs is all about diet and bf. You can train them all you want but if your bf is too high it won't make a difference.
I find a lot of people put on way too much weight and pull with their body weight.. I've been reading a lot about what the pros like Coleman does, and they don't use any weight, it causes too much thickness in the mid section and throws off the physique. Basic crunches seem to be to bread and butter when it comes to abs IMO.
Great info. I agree with low body fat. My question was more a out how often and types of exercise. Thanks for the suggestions!
TronYou can train abs all day if you want but the fact of the matter is the only thing that's going to bring them out is low bodyfat.
Agreed, also I never train them in the offseason. Deads and squats are enough to keep the core tight for me. That and I do not want the waist to get thicker with the increased calories.
Inseason I train them twice a week. Both individually at home, 1 session of "HIIT" abs where I rotate 4 exercises for 20 minutes. 1 minute of abs and one min of rest.
2nd session is weighted abs for 200 reps. Situps and crunches holding a 25 lb plate, I take as many sets as I wish to get to 200
Of course the diet is everything but I know you guys are well aware of that.
