+ 2 Listening to your body while on dBol

ad

A number of users (clearly novice by nature of their question) are really interested in dbol. Just read a post where a member was just recovering from a bicep surgery and wanted to jump on dbol to start things.

I feel now is the right time to share what I had been meaning to share for a long time but never got around to it.

Summer 2013, I'm on deca, test e. I'm at 94kg I suppose and I said lets try dBol. It gave me strength gains and I was bigger and stronger. Just because dbol gives you strength doesn't mean your joints are equally strong. I didn't realize this fact, didn't listen to my body (God damn fool. still pissed at myself at my own stupidity). At a body weight of 100kg (no fat belly) my right shoulder joint went out rather brutally in the gym while working my shoulders. Still didn't listen to my body, and probably the next day my left shoulder went out in equal brutal fashion.

3 months outta gym, medications didn't do much. Ultra sound showed excess fluid in joint and irritation between tendons. Got cortisone shot in both. Fast forward to present day and right shoulder has healed fully but left is no way close to fully healing. I always go for bout 1.5 hours therapy once a month even before injury so you can imagine how I feel. Doc says this can take even years to heal fully. I'm still hitting the gym but can't lift as heavy and now lift within the limits of my left shoulder.

So, for those rookies out there if you go on dbol dont be fooled by the strength boast u get. Your joints didn't over night become stronger.

This is a good topic that could help us in this are, Pank wrote this on stretching:

Very good post indeed. Thanks for sharing!

I didn't even know bout dynamic stretching even though I used to do it in the shape of warm up sets or by pyramiding up in some movements. I still do static stretching before and after workout.

I fully agree with you. I ran dbol as a kick starter on my first cycle. The tendons in my left elbow couldn't keep up with my strength or size gains, and I had to take it easy with that arm for the duration of the cycle.

This is good tht you didn't get any injuries. I had my shoulders day yesterday. It was decent despite my injury, good pump Smile

Agreed. Im older now so I always go light but in my hay day it was always tempting to push your strength limits. Listen to those joints and dont make big jumps in weight, always raise incrimentally.

It's my understand running Deca with Dbol can be dangerous because of the same reasons listed above... your stronger, and the deca makes your joints feel good, so you can't really tell until the damage is done. I remember my first time on dianabol... it was amazing... incredible strength... I was incline 200 lbs for 8 reps, got on the dbol, second day I was on it... My incline went from 200 lbs for 8 reps to 225 for 12 reps, over night [40 mg ED]. Right now I'm at the end of my cycle, gains are kinda tampering off, but their locked in. I can go into gym and do that same 225 for 12 without the dianabol. I love dianabol it's an amazing AAS, but it's not a toy or a supplement... IT'S A DRUG. It can cause you serious problems if you're not educated on the proper way of using it and recovering from it. please please please educate yourself.

I am currently on Dbol and I was curling the other day and my elbow started aching the next day. I felt so pumped up and strong in the gym. I kept on adding weight and I put more on than my body is used to. Now I am paying the price for testing my limits, but I am lucky I didn't seriously injure myself. Now I need to wait until my tennis elbow feels better before I can start lifting heavy again. I don't want it getting worse, it is already uncomfortably painful for me. When it feels better I am going to take a more gradual approach.

I kinda had the same thing happen. I was on the smith machine doing underhand bench press 315 lbs, and I was blowing through them... so I was like lets try to make it to 375 lbs... we stacked the plates I did the rep and the next day, I had a pinching pain in my neck and elbow... I know what caused the neck pain.. I was a dumbass and turned my head while benching and used the back of my neck instead of my shoulders as a platform to push that weight... the reason I turned my head was to make sure I had the bar up high enough to lock it out, my buddy was filming so no help... it really scared me... the lesson of this story is take baby steps, work your way up... there's no need to try to impress ANYONE in the gym... remember even Mr. O had to start somewhere. hope you feel better bro.

You're lucky tht you got a warning shot, sorta speak. Me unfortunately I clearly remember I was getting warning shots when I was doing side laterals but I was a dumbass and busted my shoulder on my next movement after it. I used to always listen to my body, always have an excellent mind to muscle connection but I just didn't even think to think what I was doing wrong.
I had EXACT same thing as you say. I did a certain weight, blew through it and said lets up this bitch. So over the duration of usage I was extremely heavily pushing my body. Shoulder joints get brutal hit everytime you train upper body so had it coming.

I bet there's 20 other people here, that's done the same thing lol

Yeaaap probably Smile

Champion Of The Mind's picture

LOL dude I would bet a vial of test, I can find a thread somewhere on here, that says the same thing lol, at least we we're lucky enough not to do permanent damage

SmanUrki's picture

Vial of test Biggrin lolz tht was funny and all too appropriate

Absolutely wise thing to do Smile

This is true for all aas (especially for newbs). The strength can come on fast, too fast sometimes! Well before your body is used too it. You need to take your time and gradually up the weight. Once you've adding some more mass and given your body time to adjust to your new size and strength then you'll be ready to push some serious weight.

I had a similar incident when kick starting a cycle with superdrol. Strength came on so fast I herniated a disc in my neck and was out for 6 months. That was a year ago and I'm still getting treatments :(

And never try any one rep max lifting! That's just asking for an injury.

Ouch!!
what you say makes good sense. I'm so much wiser. I just hope my shoulder heals coz ive learned my lesson and I really hope your neck heals too. I can completely understand the frustration. Just recently I went back to my doc and she referred me for therapy and I was like well I'm already doing tht so I suppose this is it.

First let me say I'm not a novice, I know more than most about eating, supplementing, and training.. Your tendons are important to strengthen while increasing your muscle size. If your muscles grow too fast your tendons can be strained because of the increased workload. Anabolics are not all created equal and neither are the suppliers on this site. Hence the reason the question in the initial post was raised. DBol is effective and extremely helpful to jump start a cycle.. Your misfortune while crappy, happens to people no matter whether they use Test E, DBol, ,etc..

SmanUrki's picture

It happened when I started thinking I'm stronger than I was. Dbol with its short half life does tht. Just trying to share and help, you can make of it as you wish.

this is not your usual run in the mill injury. This is a guy who listened to his body but got fooled by his first time usage of a compound with such short half life and strength gain. Hope u see what I'm trying to say.

forget bout all else I have said and focus on my injury, the same shared by another user and the fact ur recovering from a surgery. Me personally id stay away from Dbol if I were in your shoes.

also I wasn't calling you a novice, Ive read posts where ppl wanna only cycle with dBol and just today read someone asking if he can use dbol off cycle as pre workout
