Fitness and training B.S. Do you think you're gonna tone up? I call bullshit!!
I had an arguemanet with my gf the other day about training for muscle size and training to tone up..
First of all, training for to tone up is BS..Have you ever heard anyone say "hey lets go muscle tone bro"? Muscle toning is basically a combination of building muscle and burning fat.I can't tell you how many times ai see fat people in the gym doing ab exercises and sit ups..it'll decrease their gut or "fatceps" when in reality you cannot spot reduce and you cannot change the shape of your muscles with exercise.
Think about it... You can make your muscles bigger but the shape is genetic and so it the length. You can't make your muscle longer or shorter. Period!! I dare you to show me an exercise that will reduce bodyfat from a specific region. Your body is smart enough to put your consumption of bodyfat on auto-pilot and it's up to your body where your blubber ends up stored. If you eat tons of shitty deep fried garbage and junk food every day you will have a big gut no matter how many crunches you do.
When people say they want to tone and shape their muscles.. No you cannot shape your muscles. Every exercise is a muscle builder. How are you supposed to "shape" your muscles by doing something different than gaining muscle mass in a specific smaller muscle group? Lets say my gf is doing her chest flies cuz it brings out her "outer pecs". NO!! You're putting more stress on them and that gains muscle mass in that region. You're not changing the shape, you just make it bigger.
You hear shit on tv and see it in mags about, "you have to develop a good core of muscle" or "you have to start shaping with isolation movements"..BULLSHIT!
Look...retard, you can only do 2 things.. - gain muscle and lose bodyfat. That's how you "shape" your muscles. I don't care what the self-proclaimed fitness gurus say there is no such thing as shaping exercises. There are exercises that place more stress on a certain portion of a specific muscle group like I've already said but you still have to gain mass. So in my eyes they are still mass building movements.
If you start with a 20lb barbell curl and after 2 years you curl 50 kg or more guess what: "You will have bigger biceps." At the same time if you can do 1 chin-up and after 2 years you can do 10 with 45lb plate strapped to your waist you will also have bigger biceps. Am I making sense ?

valhallas bestthere are definitely muscle shaping exercises where if you concentrate your going to sculpt thatpart of the body, and yeah bro theres the version of me thatwasbenching 225 1 time and now is the version of me whos benching 315
I have to slightly call horseshit to a degree. Certain types of muscle exercises will grow specific areas more. So if you do concentration curls over straight bar curls you will develop the "peak" versus straight size. I know there are others that will change the shape of your muscle but in general you are correct about genetics playing a big part on development.
I just knew I'd have to keep an eye on you! My opinion is that knowing your genetics you can create a shape for your whole body, not like one 1 muscle or all muscles but for instance if I were to do chest and arms I'd end up looking like Bruce Lee's son but knowing what I do about how fast my muscles get round has assisted in helping me put the round where it should be on this little asian body.... xo!
