+ 1 Preparation-H for contest prep

ad

I have been researching for contest prep and have come across several posts regarding the use of Preparation-H (yes, the hemorrhoid cream) prior to a contest or photo shoot. The theory behind it is that since it is used to treat the hemorrhoids by extracting the excess water from the swollen hemorrhoid blood vessels, it will also be effective in removing the subQ water when you apply to your skin resulting in a more vascular appearance. It seems that applying it 2 or 3 times a few hours or so before the show was the typical protocol.

Anybody out there ever tried this and was it effective?

Did some more research into this and the only version of Prep-H that has the active ingredient in it that was used pull the excess water from under the skin is only made in Canada. The US and other areas changed their formulas a few years back and no longer include BioDyne, which is what made it useful for comp prep and removing wrinkles from under your eyes.

Thank you. All hope isn't lost. The Canadian formula can still be bought in the US. Search for it on Amazon. It is marketed as an under eye wrinkle control.

I think I will test out that Thiomucase also.

i can admit it...i have used it before going to the beach. it does work.

note: i have never gotten burnt so quickly.

btw - use the gel, not the cream. the gel is clear and does not smell and is easy to apply. a bit more expensive, but buy the generic version at a major retailer or even dollar general.

Good to know about the gel vs cream

I've heard of people applying it all over their body heavily and then wrapping them-self in plastic wrap before they go to bed. My sister said there are a few people who do it in the military and you can float off a few pounds to make weight that way.

CORRECT BRO..... used to use it back in early 80s to tighten skin on the lower abs and on the stretch marks i created by putting 45lbs on too fast....... really old contest trick but with modern diuretics and GH easy to get hold of these days its sorta lost its appeal.

Never used it for that purpose or it's intended purpose.. but I have used it to get rid of puffy eyes.. works every time...
