YOU'VE BEEN RIPPED OFF!!!!

ad

Well....We all know it doesn't have to make sense in order to make dollars-and-cents, and nobody knows this better than big supplement companies like BSN and Muscle Tech. These guys pull in billions of dollars every year by selling you bullshit that doesn't work. It's the biggest con-game since religion, and it amazes me how many people line up to eagerly throw money at these maggots.
First off, I'm not saying every supplement is worthless...there are some that do what they were intended, but none...I repeat, NONE of them build muscle or strength. I'm not talking about protein powders---I consider them more of a food than a supplement. I'm talking about all the little bottles of shit kept in the glass case at Vitamin world, and packaged in boxes that look pharma, and given names that sound pharma. For example, Muscle Tech recently came out with a new product called (what else) "T-Bol", that they claim will raise your natural T-levels through the roof. BULLSHIT-----TOTAL BULLSHIT, and if these guys were in any other line of work aside from the unregulated supplement industry, there is no way they could possibly get away with this. The government turns a blind eye to it because they make big bucks from the tax revenue all of you are kind enough to generate by patronizing these liars.
The last thing BSN or Muscle Tech want to do is learn the truth about steroids, because if that happens, it's game-over for them.
There is not ONE SINGLE supplement that has been proven to build strength or mass---not one. All of these Test boosters...the drinks, the pills etc.. are a SCAM, and if you were to ask any bobybuilder in private if he really takes the shit he gets paid to endorse, the answer would be something like..."FUCK NO!! HAVE YOU LOST YOU FUCKING MIND??? MY LIVER AND KIDNEYS ARE UNDER ENOUGH STRESS WITHOUT LOADING THEM UP WITH THIS WORTHLESS DOGSHIT"... Nobody knows that better than Christian Boeving, who appeared in the documentary "Bigger Faster Stronger", and was fired by Muscle Tech after letting it slip that he didn't get his body just by using Hydroxycut....ANOTHER worthless product that tugs at the emotions of fat girls without prom dates and middle-aged men looking for a second youth.
"But Goth, you can't tell me creatine doesn't work....I gained 11 pounds and my bench went up by 20 pounds after I bought that jug of Cell Tech".
No it didn't. Adding water and adding muscle to your frame are two different things, and anytime water is introduced to interstitial tissue (muscle), you are going to be a little stronger. But saying you gained real strength is like saying you're 30 pounds stronger on your bench press because you put on a bench shirt...or 75 pounds stronger on your squat because you're wearing a squat suit. Stop taking your creatine, and watch how your arms deflate like my wallet in a strip club.
The guys who pay good money for this worthless crap are the same guys who do everything they're told...obey the speed limit, wear your seatbelt, don't have sex before marriage, etc... OR, they're guys who are too stupid to open their eyes and find products that really work.
I use N.O. Xplode...NOT because I believe what the label says, but because it's a great energy booster for me. Then again, so is whiskey. But that wasn't working out very well after several dropped dumbbells to the forehead. But at least with Whiskey and steroids, I know what I'm getting....Supplement companies can sell you anything they want, and there is nothing you can do about it.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from GNC...they are not your friend. They don't care about you, and if they attempt to get you try supplements, JUST SAY NO, and run as fast as you can.

SimonM84's picture

This is another reason why steroids will never be legal. You can rip the american people off by selling them absolutely nothing.

wheels's picture

Ironic that Thailand regulates supplements where the USA does not.

I have never understood how companies can make totally unsubstantiated claims about their products without getting prosecuted for false advertising.

Pale's picture

Great write up Goth. You missed your calling brother.

I used to be a sucker as well. But in all fairness I did buy GNC at their IPO around 11 bucks and traded their asses all the way to 56.00. So lifetime I am still way ahead of them. Smile Since I have joined here I bet I haven't spent 100 bucks there and that was on protein..

bowyer's picture

WTF! I bought in at 16, good news is I'm still long Smile Not sure what to think about all the new supp retailers coming out. The whole industry is such a joke. I am good friends with a guy who started a supp warehouse when he got out of college 30 years ago. Basically he wholesales all the shit that supp store's sell retail. You'd be shocked (or maybe not) that so much of the powders are the same damn thing. There is an insanely strong correlation to the amount a supp company (like MP) spends on marketing and their retail price. Their product is no better than most any other company. All made sense when I worked for a company as a trader and bought and sold tons(weight measurement) of 95% pure protein powders for just CENTS/pound!! Yet, supp companies add flavor(sugar) and other shit (nothing much more expensive) then, on average charge over $10/ pound!!! That's legal rape.

I will say it's nice to be able to buy most any protein powder(manufactured) for $10/tub.
I wont get started on the BS that goes on with PH's. I'll leave it at this: I can get most any PH(all are dog shit) for less than $8/bottle. Those are the same ones you see sold for 80+ that are totally ineffective for muscle growth.

Cents per pound?! I think I'm gunna hurl. Whey isolate burns a hole in my pocketbook but I need it!

Greg's picture

It has to be good because they're charging $65 for a 30 day supply. Right?
Besides, they use those DNA chemist symbols on the label... that proves they know their stuff.

Cmndr. Shepard's picture

I wished I knew this info years ago. Man was I a sucker.

B52-BODY's picture

great post !!. Totally agree. All of them are food supplements. But some of
them will do some good. I have narrowed down what I use. Even the best BB
use some sort of Protein Powder to add to there diet.

There's no way there going to do what anabolic will do, but the don't hurt either.
I use a liquid protein and a protein powder, some simple vit's and some glucosamine , liver and amino's.
The combo works well. Creatine helps for sure. I buy in bulk.

mwagner630's picture

fantastic, i actually quit all my supplements, focused 100% on nutrition and diet, i put on some solid weight, 14 pounds the first month alone. i realized the supplements were killing my appetite and doing nothing for my gains. i now only take fish oils, joint support, and daily vitamins. everything i need comes from diet and occasional protein drink

I saw some protein powder in the supermarket, it has : " 4 stage glyco-matrix" in it. Now isn't that impressive!!! lol

7gothic's picture

LOL....cool buzz-word.

First off I wanted to point out that you put Boeving was fired from BSN but it was his sponsor Muscletech that fired him, just fyi on typo.

I used to be a manager at a GNC for about 2 years and I could not agree more. They either only care about their quotas or their wallet. Everything is marked up any how it's ridiculous. For instance their creatine hydrochloride (amp 189) they sell for 30 some dollars, it costs 8 dollars and 25 cents to produce, package and ship to stores. Almost everything made by gnc is marked up 300% in price im not even kidding.

@ EBSNW1
The proprietary blends are always in order as the first ingredient listed being the most. Muscletech is bad about this they will put "SUPER ANABOLIC MUSCLEBUILDING SERUM" or some shit and have 5g next to it. THen the first thing listed in the mystery prop bled will be like creatine then have about 1000 other ingredients in the same blend. You can rest assured knowing its about 3 to 4 grams of creatine and then a bunch of tiny stuff added in to show how many cool things are in theres when it's not eve a high enough dosage to do aything.

Been gone for a long time and was just browsing the famous eroids... I LOVED THIS TOPIC

Thank you. I should have caught that knowing that Muscletech is the maker of Hydroxycut.
It's amazing how America has become the land of lies.

LiLEviL's picture

Just looking out!

Yeah it's awful, there was a bill I heard of I think Durbin or Durvin that was going to crack down on supplement companies and force them to label all their blends and etc if it passed. I read about it around August but I am too lazy to google it and see what came of it.

7gothic's picture

Dick Durbin is....well.... a DICK.
And like all politicians, he's always looking for a law to pass so he can look like a hero. But I think in the end, it's going to have no teeth. And of course, as long as we live in a society where people are too lazy to educate themselves, scam companies will always be able to profit.

PyroFighterLA's picture

Goth this the exact reason I started mixing my own shit. Why pay big bucks for shit you can bottle yourself by buying bulk minerals and amino acids and mixing to your needs. Great read bro!

7gothic's picture

GREAT point!
Most people don't realize how easy it is to make your own stuff.
They also don't realize that this is basically what 99% of supplement companies do--they order some ingredients and simply mix them together.
Kinda like Dell--they don't make computers. They simply assemble components they buy from other sources, and then put their name on it.

7gothic's picture

That's worth 3 points at least.
Thanks for being cool enough to go public with that.

HllwdBdBoy's picture

Yeah Goth is the funny one.. I'm NOT! I took points just for being a petty little prick (and not capitalizing MODS)... Spelling? Seriously? You have nothing more to offer the community than being the grammatical hall monitor?

7gothic's picture

LOL....And your post above has a few grammatical errors in it as well.
You sound like a frustrated BSN fan.
Anyway, to answer your question..NO..I CAN'T take it. You're banned...lol

1sttimer's picture

And you start a sentence with a capital. People who live in Glass Houses should not throw Stones !!

arlis77's picture

Awesome read bro,....Sad thing is your Absolutely right about this subject....Just wished half these nit wits would know the truth.... Smile

netbuster's picture

Right on the Money I say, I hear these young guys at the gym all fired up because they’re using those fancy supplements, those tubs all shiny and loaded with miracle and extraordinary possibilities….well they can eat whatever the fuck they want!!! But really all they needed was to read you post and get their feet on the ground.

markymark's picture

omg!!!! it must really be the tren!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1sttimer's picture

Funny how you never hear anybody running around shouting "this shit is bunk". Either they haven't managed to work it out yet or they are too embarrassed to to admit being sucked in.

7gothic's picture

That's what I like to call "hope". They keep buying that shit a nd hope that at some point it's going to "kick in".

BeastMoDe33's picture

Jack3d and No explode is good stuff. I never shop at GNC, Vitamin World, Etc

EBSNW1's picture

The best thing is still "proprietary blend", which basically means there is a whole bunch of shit in there but they won't tell you what it is, lol.

I use protein powder, fish oil, animal pak vitamins, amino acids, and occasionally some creatine and jack3d when I'm coming off cycle, thats it.

All that other crap is useless and gives you a mental boost at most.

In a promo × 1
IbkillinEm's picture

Does that mean you don't use jack on your cycle?

7gothic's picture

Yeah, I actually might use a little Cell Tech if I need some water in my sore joints, but I'm talkin'....maybe twice a year. I certainly don't take it because I think it's going to make me bigger.

Griff's picture

Nothing funnier then a body builder in a magazine who is obviously stacking 4-5 different steroids saying muscle tech and you can look like this. Do you think people actually believe that.
