First ever injection - when do you know if it's infected?

So I did my first ever pin 2 days ago - 1.2ml test e with a 23 gauge needle into my right glute. The injection went fairly smoothly. It hurt a little bit the day after, but today it is really sore. There is no redness, nor is there any swelling or excess heat coming from the injection site - at least not that I can notice. I also don't appear to have a fever.
Would I know by now if it were infected? I can deal with the soreness but the fear of infection is what is bugging me. Thanks in advance!

Yeah the first day is not too bad the day after much worse just went through that myself. Welcome to the club.
You've got pip.. get used to it.. infections come with redness, swelling, pain, and fevers.
Just like me bro my ass first time got a knot in it and still does till this day I shoot 1-2 cc in it per week or into my quads and get peg leg or a nice sore ass thats hard to lay on but I still shoot it no matter the pain. Pain is in the gain and food eating process so let there be pain to gain brother. Just make sure to clean the vial the area to be pinned and put a cover on the spot injected afterwards intill you got there again m8 and all should be fine my tri right now is sore due to a new spot ,but to honest you want 3-4 spots so your safe and no scar tissue comes to be there brother so be safe and do it right brother man
sounds like virgin pip bud. if you are truly concerned with contaminated gear however, consider researching filters.. specialized finite filters (some that can catch and filter out bacteria) that attach to syringes that allow you to filter your gear into a new sterile vile.
i would take some kind of anti inflamatory and use a heat pad

Why?
Okay so it was a virgin muscle you will swell and it will be mildly hot. If redness worsens 4 days post and swelling continues to get worse take a couple inuprofen it contains naproxin an anti inflammatory really keep close eye. Wait one more day and if its getting worse then get it checked also red lines going from the sight will indicate infection along with a noticeable fever.
It's likely the carrier or the simple fact that you blasted a foreign substance into a virgin muscle with a share object. Take some ibuprofen. You'll be fine.
