ThunderLightive seen it and tried it a few months ago, indeed good and juicy
if you're looking for plain chicken and not adding any seasoning or anything, steaming it is definitely the best way to go imo. it keeps the chicken juicy and moist. and then throw some steamed veggies in with it and a nice baked potato and you're good to go!
If I get bored I occasionally make a chicken+lentil+kidney bean stew. Thick and satisfying, plenty of fibre too. Its really easy and you can make a week's worth of meal in a couple hrs.
Can i get recipe? Fr sent.
sure. I'll post it in public too in case anyone wants a try.
Ingredients: 5 slices bacon (200 cals), 2 lb lean chicken (800 cals), chicken marinade (your choice, I like to use unflavored greek yoghurt), 400g lentils (700 cals), red onions, garlic (optional: chili powder, garam masala, chicken broth/stock)
1) cube up the chicken in stew size portions. Marinade chicken with marinade of your choice, onions, garlic, and any other spices.
2) cut bacon into 2" long slices. in a deep pan, fry the bacon till fat is rendered. when its about 2 minutes from being crispy, add in chicken. sautee it in the bacon grease for 5-10 mins.
3) add couple cups of water or broth/stock, covering the chicken. bring to a boil and immediately low heat and let it simmer for 20 mins
4) when the water is half gone, add lentils (you might need to add water). bring to boil and simmer again.
5) simmer and keep stirring occasionally to ensure nothing sticks to bottom of the pan. the bacon grease and lentils should thicken the stew. its done when most of the water is gone and the texture is almost like chili.
I hope someone likes it. I whipped up 10 lbs of chicken in a similar fashion last weekend and freezed it in ziploc! You can add whatever you want (potatoes, peas, etc).
I like to slow poach the chicken, Shock it in Ice water
Then make vietnamese Hue city salad. Spicy, lots of onion cilantro... quinoa or other grains perfect for it
PM me for recipies
AnonThat sounds good, does it get a little lime juice too ?
hell yea! check out my thread on it on the forums!
AnonOne of the best ways is to grill it with the Pesto recipe I posted in another thread. Then use a little more pesto for dipping the chicken in.
Its awesome, I never have left overs with that chicken recipe.
Plain chicken sucks. Depending on where my diet is I'll make chicken curry, chicken cacciatore, etc. These things are made with just chicken, vegetables and spices so by themselves (i.e. no rice) they should be relatively low carb, low fat, etc.
I'm always looking for healthy ways to sauce my food up so it's not so boring. Steak and eggs for instance can be made so much better by just topping it (the steak and/or the eggs) with some fresh salsa (pico de gallo) and fresh avocado (fresh avocado (I like mine cold to juxtapose the warmth of hot food) and eggs were made for each other); makes a world of difference.
Have u guys evr tried boiling it i heard its the most healthy way and good for dropin weight but it prob taste like shit
Hey bro boiled tastes great I boil like10 breasts at a time then put in fridge they are so moist!! Then you can eat how you like plain, egg white chicken scramble or omelette !!!! Great shit!!!
Yeah, I used to boil when I played hockey. However, it is rather bland and for the amount of calories I burn now Baking or the foreman are a okay with me! If you do decide to boil your chicken you might as well take it to the next step and eat it with yellow mustard as it only has 65mg of sodium per tsp no fat no cal.
How to u boil a 6 oz breat?
http://www.livestrong.com/article/535604-how-to-boil-chicken-breast-the-... that is basically how I boiled my chicken.
Cook it on a grill on each side. then wrap it in foil and let it cook the rest of the way. You can put you vegetables in foil and cook them at same time. I do that and the forman grill.
George foreman with lemon pepper
