warming gear w/ water infecting me?
ad
I've read to warm up gear in syringe with hot water, that it helps dissolve better. When I do this with the cap on and tight I get water on the needle, just a little. Anyways all of my equipment is sterile, top of vial, skin sterile.. problem is I got second infection in 3weeks. Just started pinning a month ago. I can only think the water from warming syringe is going inside, giving infection? Anyone getting infections also. I think ill stop warming syringe. But could water cause infection?

The process I go through is I fill my pin with the amount I need and dilute it with some grapeseed oil. Always clean the top of your gear before stabbing. Then I have a heating pad on full blast I set the pin on there with the cap on. Go make coffee turn on the morning news let that bitch get toasty. I always wash my hands and use sanitizer. Swap the needle to a smaller gauge wipe the injection site with 3 different alcohol swaps. Then inject. You need to be very careful my friend infections are nothing to mess with. Maybe your gears contaminated.
Did you make sure when you pinned, that you did not go through a hair follice? Even if you wiped down pre-pinning you can pick up bacteria on the way in.
When I started I used to warm the product in a cup of water also. I've been on years now so I don't do sheet. I think you'll get used to it over time.
use a blow dryer
use dry heat...water has parasites/bacteria in it and certainly could be the cause of your infection. use a heating pad or a blow dryer to warm the vial
Although there's no way to be 100% sure, I'd bet 1K that the water on the needle itself is what's causing the infection, especially if it's tap water...
Bro, I was saying not to warm the syringe itself, warming the vial is fine. I never meant to call you a pussy either
I warm the vial itself up with hot water, I use a small bowl and put the vial in it and let the water run in it for a few mins.. just make sure the bowl is shallow enough so the top of the vial isn't under water.. Been doing it for years without a problem..
First, what you want to warm is the barrel of the syringe, not the needle itself. Second, it doesn't help the compounds dissolve any better it lowers the viscosity of the oil so it can disperse throughout the muscle quicker, which causes less irritation within the muscle belly. This should not cause any infection unless you didn't follow proper sterilizing techniques, which it sounds like you did. Make sure to also never use a needle more than once. But, what are your symptoms? How did you know it was an infection? Possibly bad gear?
I went to the hospital, on a Sunday night after Wed. injection.I had red blotchy skin, couldn't walk right, pain, and getting worse.. Diagnosed with medical term for infection(cellulities). Given antibiotics 2, and IV there. I still have some medicine left, so I'm using it because I have same problems as last time. I shot on Wed. And todays Friday,& having similar problems.I'm using TestE so I don't get PIP. Also I'm only putting hot water on loaded syringe with cap on.Even with tight cap on, water gets onto needle. The water is not sterile, so I'm thinking that's what's causing infection.
Every time I inject I like to give the needle a wipe with an alcohol pad just in case anything were to get onto it during the loading process. I'm sort of paranoid about it, but I've never had an issue thus far. I feel like if this happened to you twice it would be more than just bad luck with non-sterilized water. Hopefully its not your gear.
Stop warming the syringe brother, there's really no need to. If you really can't handle the PIP, use a hot pad and apply it on the muscle you just injected in, I always thought warming syringes was kinda stupid and can only bring you troubles. Ibuprofen can also help a lot with PIP if that's the issue here.
