I am grabbin a shower and tearing into that bitch, and I'll eat it for a few other meals too... Liken the pork loin!

Love it !!!

Does it matter if it is pork loin, or pork tenderloin? I bought tenderloin today, but it's almost $2 a lb higher than the pork loin? It looked leaner, but it was more expensive? If there isnt much of a difference I'll save a few $'s. Thanks in advace wolfman

I think loin and tenderloin is really the same thing...I could be wrong though. Just always thought a loin was a loin!

Yep a loin is a loin...lol

http://www.livestrong.com/article/377848-pork-nutrition-information-comp...

Dont mean to poop on the party but I did a quick search and found some contradicting information..

It seems as tho pork does have a lot more cal's per gram and a higher % of its cal's come from fat as opposed to protein.

Hoping this is wrong tho because I've just bought a shit tonn of Pork loins on special

wolfman's picture

They are talking about ground pork in your article not lean cuts.

Alot of that shit on Livestrong...geez, I don't know I have run across it before and it is contradictory to MANY other nutritional information pages out there. Just what I have noticed. There is hardly ANY fat in a chicken breast anyway...so if pork has a lil' more then no big deal really. A lil' fat isn't going to wreck your physique as long as it is good fats.

I'll say..Not overly worried about small amounts of fat at the mo. still prefer chicken tho it just goes down easier when cooked i recon.

Pork is a 'tough' protein to digest, your stomach and GI works extra hard to break it up in digestion. Guess it has something to do with pork protein fibers/filaments? Some meats are just plain easier on your system. Ever notice how sometimes it is hard to get thru your plate of food when eating pork?

fastmouth's picture

yeah that's exactly the image that comes to mine when i think pork. The only time pork is easy to take is when it's a fatty cut and cooked in lots of sauce and sugar - asian style lol .. kinda wanna be staying away from that scene at the moment tho

DBG's picture

Ahh, shit...I'll smash some baby back ribs here and there, it's not part of my 'normal' diet, so I guess it's sorta like a cheat food?

wolfman's picture

Yes... I felt bad about pork till I saw this site
...glad. I did!

Nice! So many good pork recipes too! Lowfat schnitzel...egg dunk thin sliced pork(3/8 thick)...bread with the crumbs in can...George Forman grill.

Lots of people tend to shy away cause of the fats, but when i bulk this winter pork is definately in my arsenal.

DBG's picture

There really isn't that much fat in pork actually...eat boneless chops and loins and you're g2g!!

Its cheap and clean if you get the right cuts.
