+ 1 Good to be back in the gym.....
Just got back from my first upper body workout in 2 months following shoulder surgery. Technically I haven't really been out of the gym at all as I've been hammering my calves and keeping cardio going, but today was my first "real" workout since my surgery. I'd almost forgotten how much I love this game!
The last couple of months have driven me nuts, 6 weeks in a sling so I was off work for what seemed like forever, (working in a production lab, you can't be work with slings, casts etc.). I've been an irritable so and so with no outlet for my aggression / general pissedoffedness (isn't a word, but it should be). Sometimes we forget how lucky we are to be able to train and go about our business, especially in a sport like this where injuries are all part of the game. I for one won't be taking it for granted again.
Only lifting very light stuff at the moment, but its GOOD TO BE BACK IN THE GAME!

Glad to hear you're feeling good. I blew my shoulder and had to have surgery and pins placed so I know a little bit about what you're going/been through. Protect your shoulders as if your life depended on it. Stay healthy.
welcome back, im in the off-season so my diet and training are shit, but im lookin forward to gettin back into it here soon
Nice bro, take it slow and you'll be killing it before you know it. I got annoyed at first using light weight but I got over it pretty quick seeing the ridiculous pumps I was getting doing sets 30 reps and shit.
AnonGreat news brother!!! At least u have an excuse! Between work and it being this time of year(harvest) I've been so busy I barely am even home let alone the gym. Can't wait till October is over with!
That is good news S glad to here your back and recovering!!! Stay Strong! +2

RustyhookerDefinitly the best aggro buster! Have fun!
What type of surgery? I played baseball in college (right field) and tore my labrum, rotator cuff, and capsule trying to throw some one out at home plate. That hurt like a mother. I was in a sling for 3-6 months. Doc said it would take a year to heal to throw pain free it took 8 years
Was repaired by keyhole surgery. reattached the subscapularis at the front of the cuff (they make a hole then stitch it back to the bone via the hole. Then also repaired the back of the labrum.
For me it wasn't too painful, I was shocked how much damage there was! The MRI said it was detatched but I thought they'd got it wrong and was expecting it to be a minor tear when they went into the joint. Sounds like you had a much worse time than I've had with it.
They've said 75-80% recovery in 9-12 months.
well done bro!! keep at it! I know how you feel (sort off) lol have had a broken hand for 5 weeks, but ive battled through it!!! its hard and I know the- pissedoffness- feeling lol
I've been like a F-ing baby with his/her favourite toy taken away. I feel sorry for the poor guys that work for me lol! Gotta take it real easy, but I'm so pleased to be getting back to normal. Been walking around with a stupid grin all day.
