Calories, Macros, etc for general RECOMP??
So here's the deal...
I've been cutting on some test and EQ... But the EQ is starving my ass. Eating between 2k and 2.5k (bouncing around a bit trying to find a comfortable place, but I just can't)... and I truly mean HUNGRY. Like damn near uncontrollable urges to just fuck off and eat shit I shouldn't eat (like the ice cream in the freezer...) Not just "wanting" to, but like painfully wanting to.
Thinking of upping my calories to around maintenance and just trying to "recomp" a bit with the rest of the cycle. Say F the whole cutting thing and try and make some lean gains while leaning out/getting harder at the same time. Does anyone have any advice for a "recomp" style diet? I've always sort of just done the bulk, cut, bulk, cut thing... But I just feel really "in the middle" right now. Want to get more lean, but tired of getting smaller. I want to make gains... Grow.. etc.
Btw, I did search but I didn't find much to go on about diet for recomp. Just a lot about compounds and cycles and stuff. I am wondering if I should just eat around maintenance and make sure my macros are in a good balance (40/40/20, 45/35/20, 35/35/30, or whatthehellever else) or just how exactly I should approach it. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out
By the way, posted in "weight loss" because I figured it was most appropriate.
25 y.o.
~180 lbs (195 before diet)
~11% (16 before diet... Started diet 2 months before starting cycle.. BF was roughly 13 then)
Currently 8 weeks into test E 375mg and EQ 750mg
(I realize this is not your typical prop/var cutting cycle)
Again, any help or suggestions appreciated. Thanks guys.

Bump. Any Vets or Pro's familiar with typical macro's for a recomp? I'm assuming it will change with the individual based on how carb sensitive they are, but I'm curious regardless. Looking for some insight.
I'd try eating as organic as possible too. I feel like it seems to keep me full longer. Maybe it's cause there more nutrition maybe it's in my head idk lol.
Ah, really? I've never thought about that. I eat "normal" food for the most part. Could be true though. I know there are a lot of additives and preservatives added to "normal" foods that make them kind of more calorically dense (more calories in less food = a lot less "full") and it definitely lowers the satiety factor. I may try out this theory for myself.
Are you drinking shakes? If so drop them and eat solid foods so you will stay full longer.
Good advice here! And I totally agree. I don't drink shakes, really. Maybe a whey shake post workout if my protein is lower than usual at that time of the day, but I definitely try and eat whole foods as much as possible too. Maybe have a post workout shake 2-3x a weekl. Other than that, rarely ever do I have one.
Ok so what are you eating ?
When are you eating it ?
When do you eat your carbs ?
when are you doing cardio ?
I subscribe to an IIFYM approach, though I definitely do not eat bullshit all day long either. I did a bit of intermittent fasting for a couple weeks to accelerate weight loss (successfully), but am now back to eating from morning to night and worrying much more about hitting my calories and macros for the day than "nutrient timing." Though I do try and eat the most of my carbs first thing in the morning and post workout. I was doing my cardio fasted in the mornings for a while (5 days a week... I ride a bike to work and back home), but again.. I am eating in the mornings again now so still doing the cardio but no longer fasted.
