Klonopins and other anti-anxiety drugs

ad

I'v been taking anti-anxiety drugs for a few years now. Started with Valium then the doc moved me over to Klonopins. My mind has a tendency to start snowballing on thoughts and I get myself WAY to worked up, and no amount of slow breathing or working out helps.

My question is if anyone has any knowledge on how these drugs play into AAS use or even BB in general.
Do they hinder gains?
Any knowledge or thoughts on the subject would be interesting to hear.

I am prescribed 2 mg xanax 3 times daily. Asked the doc about steroids in a around about way. Basically he said the xanax wouldn't hinder any results. Xanax is very addictive though so I dont take it that much.

There are actually a numerous amount of answers to this question, while still being one main answer. The main answer is that the actual pharmacology of a Benzo is not going to effect nor hinder your gains in any way shape or form. Every time you take a Benzo, your brain produces the neurotransmitter GABA which will make you feel relaxed, comfortable, less stressed, and in higher doses you will feel like you don't want to move or can't move (not in a bad way). In some ways it may even make you feel better/help you grow because it will relax your muscles and help you sleep better hence helping you grow. That being said, there are a few ways that it could affect you negatively with things like addiction, dependence, and lethargy.
After taking benzos daily for a certain amount of time (regardless of who you are) your body will become physically dependent on the drug. If you don't take it after taking it for a while, you will get uneasiness, uncomfortableness, sleeplessness, irritability, some depression, and possibly more negative side effects and emotions/feelings. This can last a few days or a couple weeks depending on how long you were on them and how long for your body to return back to it's normal state.
Benzos can also make you feel lethargic, tired, and zombie like while under the influence of the narcotic and even the day after taking it. This is one thing that could hinder your gains because it could play on your motivation and kill your desire to get up and get ready for the gym and such. This is not to say that everyone is like this as I know many functioning people who also work out a lot and still take xannies, kpins, or the such.
The last thing I wanted to say also is that your anxiety could be majorly heightened from the use of gear, even just testosterone in itself. I know that in myself and many other people gear can make me have more anxiety attacks than usual or just be in a more heightened state all of the time (kind of like fight or flight). In order to combat this, I would definitely suggest staying away from certain compounds that are very well known for causing a lot of anxiety and panic attacks such as EQ (Boldenone Undecylenate), Trenbolone (base, oral tren, and Acetate seem to be worse than Enanthate and Hex for me), Halo, Var (at high doses), cheque drops, and Dbol at times. Of course there are other compounds that can still cause a heightened state of body and adrenaline but these seem to be some of the worse for me.
Overall as long as you keep it under control and you use the benzos just to keep yourself in check when having a panic attack I don't think it's going to really hurt you. But, just as a suggestion, one thing that helps me a lot is to just take a walk. This helps because it makes you feel like it is a little more normal for your heart rate to be elevated and it helps calm me down. Good luck broth!

have you tried any type of martial arts that requires the use of forms or katas ? I m NOT talking about MMA.. the forms/katas allow the mind to be in the present and the concentration required is much like meditation. I have found that doing them work far better than any drugs ever did ...

I used to do Tai Chi back in my teens, but I might consider taking it up again. Not to mention every day that goes by I find myself thinking more and more about replacing the benzos with herb.

I used to smoke weed like crazy back in the day, and it was a great substitute, I didn't need the benzo's to help with the anxiety. Only problem is pot gives me bad stereotypical pot-head side effects. I get REALLY lazy (so I skip out on the gym) and I always seem to loose my self control and binge on junk food.
This was all back before I really started lifting, so maybe things would be different. Other downside is that I'm not in a med-marijuana friendly state, so keeping my job would be another issue.

Had no problems with gains or effects on benzos. Prescribed 6mg day alprazolam so wasn't a low dose either.

Damn bro don't touch tren then.. You'll lose your mind! I use to be on all that shit, Xanax, pain pills, Klonopin, u name It I took it or was prescribed to it. I get crazy racing thoughts now and then but a good friend I have, she's a psychologist just got her P.HD , she helped me get off the shit and deal with probs as they come. It sucked at first but looking back on it... It was worth it, I'm no longer a slave to benzos. I hope you can get off eventually bro

Yeah, I hate feeling like I need them to handle situations or thoughts. Thankfully I don;t feel the "need" to take them regularly, but I still take them more often then I would like to. Plus Klonopins are known to be pretty harsh to come off of, so there;s that as well.

idk but tren heads sure love em.

Yup we do. As well as Xanax to sleep at all. I was prescribed klonopin in a rediculous high dose. I've managed to get MYSELF down to an eighth of a pill..... Against this quack docs advice.... And I feel a lot better. Gains have always come whether I was on a high dose of bozos or not. Hell on the liver though .... Not anadrol hell... But not good at all.
