Favorite headphones?
Aside from gym clothes I'd say a good pair of headphones are one of the most important thing for me to remember to bring with me to the gym. Seems like I've gone through quite few different pairs.
I was looking for some new ones. I looked at the beats by Dre earphones, but those things are too damn big and they seem like more of a fashion statement then a good headphone.
I recently picked up some iSport's made by Monster.
I'm pretty damn impressed! I have a lot of different things I look for and this fits just about every one of them. The controls are up high so I can get to them even with the wire run down my shirt and they don't get accidentally pressed when I doing curls at the preacher bench. The plug is at a right angle, not straight so it doesn't get bent in my pocket. And most importantly they have a nice shape so that they stay in my ears. Nothing throws my lift off more then when I'm mid set and one of my ear buds falls out.
Anyone else a headphone snob, and have some they prefer?

CleyonHere comes my headphone screed. I've got way too many pairs of headphones, and I'll break down how I justify each pair of the ones I use often. From most expensive to least expensive
AKG K702
Great for music, and recording. I bought these when I was working as a studio musician, and they have become the headphones I put on if I want to really immerse myself in the music.
Sure E5
This things have great sound quality, but more than that they do a great job of shutting out noise. They are "In Ear Monitors" and I've used them playing live for years. They more than any other piece of gear are the reason I still have any hearing left.
Bose iE2
I'm not a Bose fan, but these little guys do a really good job of shutting outside noise down while givine pretty goot sound quality. These are my goto gym headphones. The little rubber tip on the ear piece keeps them from popping out when I'm on the decline bench which is really appreciated.
I can't bring myself to buy a pair of "Beats By Dr. Dre", mostly because the ones I've listned to in the stores are so bass heavy it ruins the music. If all the music you listen to is bass heavy, then you may like them, but listening to Jazz, Rock, or Metal in them it gets really old quick. They do seem well made, and I know a couple of guys who swear by them, that still doesn't justify the premium price tag to me. In my mind a premium pair of headphones will replicate the music the way it was meant to be heard, and not artificially color it with a boosted bass EQ.
Good to know I'm not the only one who won't workout without my own music. It's not always just about tuning out the other people, it's also about tuning out the shitty music the gym plays. Listening to Justin Bieber and Gangam style blaring over the gym speakers doesn't quite cut it for me. I might have to start a whole other thread just about terrible music at the gym.
Sent fried request, was gonna buy those isports before Christmas, do u think there worth it?
Yeah, so far I really think so, but I still kept my Walmart receipt in case I change my mind in the next 90 days I can get my $ back. (I LOVE Walmart!)
Anonluckily my gym doesn't play music. or, maybe i'd rather hear that than the idiotic misfits running around.
btw, we got a police report filed on the ring. just waiting on the claim to process and see what happens. hopefully we don't have to buy another. but, i know who to call if i do
Glad to hear your getting things squared away with it.
AnonOne day, just one day I want to bring in some speakers and play my music choice. That is my dream!
Pull a night at the Roxbury wedding scene lol. Ill pay to see you post a video of that!
I bought a pair from cvs that are red and are sport sweat resistance headphones that have a off set cone shap that fits the right and left ear which in turn makes them grip better...ive had um a record breaking 2 months now and they are going strong and only 15 $!!!!. my only qualm is the shape of the input I find that the "L" shaped input is best for it doesn't wear out as fast and start fading in and out of one ear as opposed to the straight input
Anonfor me, music in the gym is a must. when i forget my headphones at home, it fucks me up. i like to get in my zone and tune out all the dumbasses running around. in terms of the headphones themselves: the standard headphones just weren't cutting it for me. that cord can be a nuisance (spelling?). bluetooth is the way to go. i have two pairs, which i keep in both of my vehicles. one is an LG brand and the other is a motorola brand. the lg is the ear bud style that literally is inserted into the ear canal, but part of these has to rest on and around the neck. this is a problem on chest day, because it falls off my neck when laying on the bench. the motorola's are perfect. they ultimately clip around the ear lobes, so they're perfect for all around the gym. only downside is that they do not muffle the noise like the ear buds do. so, you can still hear the dumbasses if they're not loud enough. both have controls for volume, track, power, play/pause, and even the phone. it's nice to have a phone call while listening to the music and not have to take them off to anser and talk.
Anon" Scientists at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse found in a 2003 study that participants who chose to listen to faster-paced music generated a higher heart rate, pedaled harder and generated more power, increasing their level of work by as much as 15% by diverting their focus to the music."

I must listen to music when lifting and exercising, if I forget it, I will drive home and pick it up.
Anonyou are correct, brother. i, too, have read these studies.
Anonfrom a youtube clip I watched on eroids the other day.. "Bro Science"- "I don't need science, my eyes just proved it"

AnonCome here hoe!
AnonYou may now approach the bench!
GearofWarI'm still rocking my Ultimate Ears triple fi 10's by Logitech. Best buds I've ever heard and I've owned and tried many different pairs. I bought them a few years back when Amazon had them as their lightning deal one day on a whim for $79. These bastards retailed at $400, then. Not sure if they're still to be had but they are simply outstanding.

On another note, my favorite budget buds are the JVC gumy plus's. They sound A-Okay and can be had for $4 bucks at Amazon, or like $8 bucks in-store at BestBuy.
BOSE SIE2 , or the BOSE IE2. The rest are the minor leagues. Won't fall out, ear buds, Bose quality, and look great.
AnonBeats by Dre Solo has my vote. Good quality, loud, stylish. All the things I look for in a pair of headphones. I also have no problem jogging with them.
I usually wear a beanie and put them over my beanie so sweat doesnt fuck them up.
Comes with a 1 year warranty too which is cool
I use blue tooth. I hate cables
im with you on that, wireless beats all the way
Anondoes that work with an ipod? or you using your phone for a music device?
as long as you got a ipod touch with a wifi connection your good brother
AnonI use the basic ipod issued head phones, my earing going to shit so I need something that will play music louder!
