pain during pushing movement in shoulder muscle

well, i had to look up an anatomy diagram of the shoulder muscles to try and figure out which muscle it is that's actually hurting and i think it is the deltopectoral triangle. It started hurting when i was doing my last chest day (monday) and it's still pretty sore, today was back/bi's and everytime I came down with the weights my left shoulder (i guess it's the shoulder, it's definitely not the pec and it's below and in front of the trap) would get a sharp pain.

anybody have any suggestions?

i could use some advice

Older post but was wondering if you found out what the problem was. I was experiencing similar pain and finally went to the doc about it. MRI showed a slap tear of the labrum, and when we went in to fix that tear the surgeon found 4 more. Shoulders aren't something to play with. I'm 3 1/2 months post op and just now able to start rebuilding my strength.

Rest ! I have the same problem when I do incline bench. I Ryan to have someone rub it out.

Rest Ice Compression Elevation Massage and Stretching. Specifically physical therapy stretching I think mobilitywod is a good source for those types of stretches.

thanks dude i'm gonna look into this tomorrow morning, it's painful enough that i'm kind of hesitant to do my chest workout coming up on monday if it doesn't feel any better.

i've got shoulders/traps scheduled for tomorrow and i don't know if i'm even gonna be able to do it. i think i can do traps as long as i pull my shoulder blades back before i do the movements but i'm not so sure i really want to do shoulders, it might just make it worse =/

Lower the weight and see how you feel. Def no heavy lifting until you figure out what's going on. Why risk it?

i went in and did shoulders/traps today and was fine except i couldn't do front shoulder raises due to there being a sharp pain at the midway point of the movement =/

i'm definitely going to have to stick to light weights on chest day though. at least for another week or so

and do not do close grip I just trashed my shoulder two weeks ago doing that with an injury.. LOL
