Hammer strength rows re-discovered
Hi all,
Was just wondering what your thoughts & experiences of hammer strength rows were?
I 1st tried them around 20yrs ago after a certain Mr Yates did a photoshoot doing them but after a few wks of huffing & puffing I just didn't seem to get on with them & dismissed them as an exercise that only Mr Olympia could do or a piece of equipment only good for photoshoots. Well not anymore, after looking down my nose & sneering at the hammer strength row machine for the last 6mths at my current gym I decided to give them another go & have to say I've been blown away at how good this exercise is, it's now a must do back exercise for me. Even whilst doing my light weight/high rep training to drop my bf it feels by far the best back exercise I've done & I can't wait to hit it hard when I return to heavier lifting.
Many thanks for any replies.

They are good exercise, I personally like barbell rows better though. Usually only use dumbells for back when I do farmer carrys and for weighted pullups. Dumbell rows do give you a good stretch and are great if done with good form.
Hi strongman. Now there's a blast from the past, barbell rows, haven't done them in years! They are the daddy. I did think of doing them again when I started training again but at my age & working out at 6am I didn't think it a good idea, lol.
