+ 5 What;s the biggest steak you've eaten in one sitting?

ad

I had a 20oz boneless rib eye last night that went down very well. I checked the nutritional facts on it and it was 1600 calories with like 130 grams of protein. Fat content however nearly equaled the protein amount.
I know there are some monsters on here that can probably double that...

JL's picture

I ate a whole flank steak in one sitting with some veggies it was close to 2 lbs. Then I fell into a steak induced coma.

TheFlash85's picture

I had a 700 gram porterhouse last week medium well, it came with veggies, chips gravy etc, finished the steak minus the fat/ gristle and couldnt even touch the sides lol.

Generally though i have 400gram steaks like 2-3 times a week

Harley1969's picture

The fat for me is the tastiest part. Probably not the healthiest though...

16 oz Rib-eye. I love steak but can never eat more than 1/2 a lb. to 1 lb. per sitting.

20oz rump with all the side portions you can think of, I eat this 3/4 times a year at a local restaurant. Eat this without to much of a problem.

On a side note try Flat-iron steak, it's beautiful.. one of the most flavoursome cuts around.

I had my butcher cut me a half dozen 2.5" thick T-bones last month. Those babies were around 28-30oz each. I had no problem polishing them off but I wasn't able to eat my potato. Normally I just stick with a 14-16 oz NY strip or ribeye for my PWO meal though. I was bulking back then.

We're supposed to be checking out a new butcher on our next shopping trip.

Get one that has grass-fed beef. It is worth it.

daksmack's picture

Well, down here in TX we eat steak regularly lol... The biggest personally was 100+ ounces of T-bone. A side of green beans and a fully loaded sweet potato, glass of water and a tall shiner bock. Finished under an hour. Didn't feel great that night but actually not that bloated the next day. I worked out legs that morning and didn't go for the regular post workout shake.

Yeah, but how'd it taste?

daksmack's picture

F'ing delicious. It was so thick the middle was practically as rare as it comes. But I like it like that. No steak sauce needed. It's funny how the brain overpowers the body. I ate this no problem. I did a burrito challenge not to long ago and got so sick I laid down in the back on my truck for an hour.

When I ask for rare, that plate better be soaked in blood. I want it looking like Elizabeth Bathory's bathtub. Nothing worse than when you ask for rare and the waitress says "we can go as low as medium." Sure, one piece of charcoal, please! Are they serious?

daksmack's picture

If they say as low as medium here in Texas, we call Greg Abbot and let em know we got one that needs a fast pass for the chair lol... I love using that remaining blood to dip my baked potato in. Mmmmm

Jesus H Christ! Hahaha! I hope it was one of those competitions where the meal is free if eaten in under an hour.

daksmack's picture

It was a place out here that if you eat the entire t-bone and sides under an hour it's free. The cool actually gave me the largest cut they have ever done, usually the contest is for 75 ounces. Something about an ice cold shiner helped me polish it off. I can't post tbe pics btw because if you go to this particular restaurant my pic is on the wall. It was rare too Smile

I'd love to try the Texas steak challenge which is like 72oz and sides! I could eat steak for every meal of the day for real! By far my favorite protein! As far as the biggest I've only had the opportunity to eat a 20 oz cowboy steak at Texas Toadhouse but I polished it off in like 5 minutes! The key is speed so I think I could do decent work for the challenge!

Harley1969's picture

That's where I ate my 20 ounce steak at. I talked to the waitress and she said you can order as many ounces as you want. I think I'm going to try a 32 oz next time I go.

That would be legit! I didn't know you could order as many ounces I you want there!

I was 17 and at a steak restaurant back in my home country and my uncle dared me to eat a steak that was 500g (17.6oz) and I could get 100 bucks. I took up the challenge, now bare in mind that I was a skinny teen, at 17 I probably weighed about 50kg max. I finished the steak, the onion rings and the fries. I got a 100 bucks hahahaha!!

Harley1969's picture

Nice brother. Sounds like the time I bet my Son $100 that he couldn't bench 365 pounds. And of course he got it and I gave Him the $100

To balance things out we do something she likes one week like bowling or mini golf and the next week I get my monster steak.
Once every two weeks is still better than a lot of relationships though.

I ate an entire beef rump roast for lunch yesterday. It had to to top 3 lbs. once the fat was removed...however due to the fact that it was lean and half of it was dry I think that equals at least a 10 lb steak. Holy shit, towards the end I was smothering every bite in mustard. It was a little much...

Harley1969's picture

Wow! What's the macros on something like that?

Holy shit does everyone eat steak with mustard or is that a eu thing I need to get on this boat

Harley1969's picture

A1 for me brother. If I run out then it's ketchup. I'll have to try a lil mustard next time.

333's picture

Same here in use a1 thick and hearty then ketchup

Engineereddisaster's picture

Lol. I'm not European...however, if you forcefully eat mass quantities of meat every day, you'll see that mustard is definitely your friend. Especially when the meat is dry. Smile

This will come In handy for when my wife cooks my chicken if I'm to busy at work lol

Jayzgainz's picture

LOL!! My wifey is so heful, she made mine the other day. I dont know what she did to it but when I opened my lunch day before yesterday which started out as a 2" breast. I found a 1/2" piece of brown leather. I had to gnaw on it to get enough moisture back in to make it break up when I chewed it. She trys so I say nothing but dam, I need to start taking pics of this stuff.

Harley1969's picture
