+ 1 What should I run post surgery?

ad

Hey guys

Im 5 months post ACL surgery in my right knee and im hoping for any tips or advice on whats gear i should run. Im a martial artist and i tore my acl training. After surgery i lost about 15 lbs in the first 2 weeks from being stuck on the couch in a full leg brace. Since then in the last 2 months i have been able to slowly(very slowly in my opinion) get my weight and strength back. This will be my second cycle, my first was 4-5 years ago. My diet is great as well as my schedule and gym routine until i can get back to training.

Stats
27
5'10"
180lbs
13% bf

basically what my goals out of this are:

-I still feel "soft" since surgery and i wanna kickstart my body back into form

-Looking to stay lean and keep my athleticism

-I dont need 25lbs, id like to stay somewhat close to my fight weight lol

Long story short, I tried all that i could after i tore my acl to avoid surgery so for 4 months i couldnt train and then the rehab after surgery will be 5 months this week. So i really want something that will basically get me back in the game but not become a giant.

(What is the best cycle for a fighter?)

Thank you to anyone who offers advise. I genuinely appreciate it.

in july this year i broke my tibia, ankle and shattered navicular in 8 places, full leg cast, right leg, could not drive or put any weight on it at all, i took a total of 4 days of the gym since then, i had different people helping me out, brothers, mates etc driving me, coming into the gym and moving benches around and shit for mewhile i was cruising around on crutches, im actually in the best shape ive ever been in minus that one leg im bigger, stronger, leaner, the worst thing you done was sitting on the couch, i was 4 weeks into a cycle when it happened and i decided too continue with it.

its been so long since you have cycled plus its only your second run, no point.

this is a list that will get you back on track that works, you need the maximum doses per day everyday.

bcaas
calcium
vitamin d
vitamin k
vitamin e
vitamin c

you need to up your calories by at least 2000, protein @ 400 and carbs around the same.

i took this everyday, i walking around and started training legs again last week- the severity of my fractures and the time frame etc says too me that it all works.

no need for cycle buddy, muscle memory and determination will get you there quick with out juice, focus on diet and nutrition with smart effective training an you will be fine.

good luck.

i think im just gonna hold off on the cycle. I only wanted to do it if it made sense and was safe. I cant risk re injury. not only physically but being stuck on the couch for someone like me will kill you mentally. I can get back to form, im already the heaviest ive ever been and getting stronger every day i will be back to training soon enough.

Thanks for all your help i really do appreciate it.

In your situation I wouldn't cycle since that would get your muscles even stronger and possibly cause another injury. HGH or peptides to promote healing would be the way to go in my opinion

I guess when enough time has passed, what cycle would you guys recommend for a fighter? sure wish i could get my hands on some growth lol

Do you have a coach? And, what is your daily macros and caloric intake? Are u in to getting pre cycle bloodwork, or u gonna let it slide?

RyMastaFlex's picture

yes i have a coach, i have around 350g carbs 200-225g protein 75-90g fat, i didnt plan to do the cycle till january where i would be 8 months out from surgery. I would going to get bloodwork then. i wanted to do it right and only if i was not at a high risk of reinjury so i think im goonna hold off

Increase fats 30 to 50g in form of MUFAs and PUFAs. Diet looks adequate. Wise choice to hold AAS. Ask coach and PT if u could benefit from using.a TENS unit on your affected leg for therapy.

"Rusty" the last 2 months i have been strength training my legs every 4 days. I will be going back to PT in a week to start agility drills and more strength training.

Thanks so much for your replies everyone. I deff wanna do this right, that was my main concern with putting on so much growth and straining my new robot knee.

Wait to use like bros said below. Get BW to see what your test and free test levels reveal. Increase MUFAs and PUFAs in your diet, along with your daily protein and CHO intake. Continue min to mod cardio on bicycle and lightweight resistance exercises.

Tendon repair is gonna take some time. I wouldnt start a cycle until 18 months post operation. There are aas that would increase healing time, but you are not in a deficit requiring additional drugs.

No man thanks so much for the reply. I was going to wait till january to hop on i guess i should have mentioned that. so that would put me 8 months post surgery. Would that still be to soon? I am going crazy not feeling like i used to but i am deathly afraid of re injuring my knee.

100% agree. The growth you would see from any cycle would likely be too much strain for the joints and ligaments trying to keep up with that rapid growth and you could very likely re-injure yourself. I know they say things like deca can actually be helpful for your joints but I think that is just in comparison to other as's, not that it in itself is some kind of cure. Plus I don't even think that it's proven. I've had some joint injuries myself and found that rehabbing them naturally to near full strength is the best thing you can do before you even consider doing a cycle. Best of luck with that!
