+ 3 Long cycle versus short cycle long term
I've reading on leutenizing hormone lately and as we get older our body builds up a tolerance to and we become less responsive to it, therefore producing less testosterone. The same applies to HCG. The reason why I state this is I have few questions/thoughts:
1. Does proper administration of steroids increase long term testosterone production? I ask this because on test, our body stops producing LH, FSH and test. So with proper administration would this delay the body from building up resistance to LH therefore keeping our potential for natty test up for longer period of time
2. Are longer cycles better than shorter cycles? I know as far gains go, shorter cycles are better. However for long term health, would longer be better due to less PCT. When we go through PCT, we blast our body with nolvadex and clomid, resulting in high levels of LH. How much does this effects the bodies tolerance to LH? If we take longer but less cycles, we would be sparing the body extreme exposure to LH.
3. Does using test decrease chance of testicular cancer? The reason I ask this is, the more often women get pregnant, the less chance they have of developing ovarian cancer because the pregnancy gives the uterus a break. I was just curious if test injections do the same thing for our testes.
Long post I know but thankful for any answers

Hi mtor and the other contributors!
Nice post!
Discussions about long vs short cycles is very helpful for all of us (well, at least for those who care about their health and future) ...
My thoughts on ur questions (it's a bit of guesswork, cause research data is complex and incomplete)
1) Surely NOT! Messing with ur HPT-axis will most likely not benefit ur hormone system. Ur thought was down the line of "if u don't use it, it will stay functional for longer" (hope I got u right there?). But I think that's a bit too simplified.
2) goes down the same alley of speculations. Therefore my answer is NO.
3) there is just too little data on it and recent studies pop up questioning the whole "test administration causes higher risk for cancer" - story.
U concentrated on LH and sensitivity of the testicles to it...
...BUT: It would be very interesting to hear some general thoughts on SHORT VS LONG CYCLES!!!!!
Are shorter cycles with same mg/wk less harmful?
Could you achieve similar goals with long and short cycles?
Does the HPTA recover quicker from short cycles? Do you 'feel' that u recover quicker from short cycles?
What's the definition of Short Cycle for you? 4,6,8 wks???
Well I think questions can go on an on...

Iron
I sway the Genetics way............. everybody is different, simple as that.
I can run really low and still have great results but! and heres the but!!...... i NEVER put all my faith in steroids, i rely on nutrition and strict practices to force my body to do the things i choose.
im not convinced on this body building tolerance theory everybody talks about, doesnt really matter to me if its been scientifically proven or not. I dont believe that you need to use more each time either. My real life experience is that ive used some large mg/w cycles, by this theory I would not be able to go back down to a lighter cycle and it work. Total bullshit for me, im on a mild cycle right now and just broke through a weight plateau.
.1 Im gonna say NO, there is no proper way to use steroids where your gonna increase long term production.
.2 this is compound and mg per week dependant. I did about 2 years worth of short cycles beating a drug testing regime I was subject to. They are not necessarily better for gains and PCT can be ran just as long for harder compounds ran for a short time. So depending on how frequent you run shorter cycles would determine your answer. ie once every 4 months I would say shorts are healthier, once every other month I would say longs.
.3 I dont have a clue.
RustyhookerLove the topic! If we knew the variables it surely would make this game safer. Some guys shut down sooner. Other guys do insane cycles with no issues. Genetics?
I'm wondering how much is stress.
We all know the body releases cortisol when you're stressed out whether physically emotionally or mentally. Cortisol has been shown to lower testosterone levels and on a personal level I can attest to that as I had physical breakdown from it. With our bodies under so much stress, we over produce cortisol which sends out test levels on a roller coaster. The body produces LH and FSH to get us back to healthy levels. With the constant fluctuation, the testes have been battered left and right from LH resulting in desensitization which gives lower t levels.
RustyhookerAs well as the catabolic responce of elevated Cortisol and fat % raises.
Im confused? Are you saying my trt protocol is gonna make it so i dont have to be pn trt? My natural test is coming back ? Or are you just taking about people who cycle but not cruise ?
I'm talking about cycling. If you're already shut down, you're not going to get it back.
I like the thought provoking questions posed here. I feel like we need to figure out why the body is desensitized to LH over time in order to determine if shutdown will benefit sensitivity. If your theories are rooted in the idea the more exposure we have to LH desensitizes the testes to it. Which I believe may be true. Or is it? I don't know that it's been proven.
It has been proven true which is what got me thinking
Can you reference the study? I've read some in rats which I believe holds some credibility but the dosage was astronomical.
Here's the link to the study
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/3119649/
That's really interesting - I'd never seen that study before. +1
Based off that research, it seems that we do get less sensitive to LH even though we can produce steady amounts over the years. I feel like key to your question lies in my original thought of ... What exactly causes this? Is it exposure to LH? I don't think so. Is it just less sensitivity due to time and our balls just not working as efficiently as they used to? I think that may be it. And - if that's the case, then I don't believe cycle duration really matters. Either way we are going to age and I think the stress from cycling - ESPECIALLY a long cycle that shuts you down hard, will only stunt our natural sensitivity to LH rather than extend it.
Why do underweight ppl develop type II diabetes at 65,70 years old when they've been healthy their whole life? Body builds up resistance to insulin which leads to over working the pancreas, pancreas fails.
I feel the same theory applies. Why did old guys up until the last century still kick ass? What's changed? We've gotten smarter, better nutrition, longer life expectancy. What changed? Our stress levels. Back then you just wanted to survive and have a decent life. Now we stress about everything, consumed massive amounts of caffeine and other stimulants. I feel like stress has given us roller coaster test levels and the body produces so much LH to get the testes stimulated that they just don't care any more
RustyhookerOld guys kicked ass because the so called "men" coming up are panty waists. Lol
