Lab work during cycle
ad
I'm half way through a 12 week cycle of 500 mg/wk test cyp and 300 mg/wk Deca.
I got my lab results back and my hematocrit is 53%. The top of the scale is 50%.
test level is 2544
estradiol is 36. the top of the scale is 39.
When I got my labs done I was just getting over the flu so I may have been somewhat dehydrated but that was the only day I could get to the lab. That could be making it show high.
I can't give blood again for a few weeks. I'm 41 yrs old.
Since my hematocrit is high, should I stop my cycle now or continue for my last 6 weeks?

1.) Drop the Nandrolone Decanoate and decrease your test dose.
2.) Query blood drives within a 60-70 mile radius.
3.) Restrict Na+ in diet to 2 grams/d per Rusty's suggestion below. Hydrate as well.
4.) If query unsuccessful to donate within a moderate driving distance, then consider possible alternatives through blood donation found through internet searches.
"Should I" is up to you, as always. I'm not a doctor, and I have not been in this exact situation, but I do have some thoughts.
If I got these numbers myself and otherwise had no symptoms, I would continue. I might re-test in a few weeks, but even that I might base on symptoms. (My own mid-cycle hematocrit was 49%. I let my estrogen go over 50 and it was still no problem.)
"top of the scale" is based on a bell curve. 0.6% of one group of males 40-49 were 53-54%. http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/series/sr_11/sr11_247.pdf (Table 59) Presumably most or all of them were not "enhanced."
(One example about statistics: My MCV has always been a bit above the "top of range" even before my cycle. My doctor didn't remark.)
Just like the out-of-bounds levels of test, FSH, LH I guess you are seeing, you have an idea what is causing this.
More to think about: Do you have symptoms? (You can search for polycythemia.) Is red cell count also elevated?
Yes, my red blood cells are just over the high range and my hemoglobin is just under the high range.
My only symptom is my BP has been high but when I was in last week to see the doctor for the flu, he gave me med for it and now it's down to 148/76.
My head sometimes feels full and foggy but it feels more like allergies.
Of course I know this is all a result of AAS and will go back to normal after I go back to TRT dosage.
I don't take high hematocrit lightly. I'll stay on cycle and see how i feel. Maybe I can figure out how to give blood or do it myself .
Thanks
There is a relevant discussion going on the General Forum - https://www.eroids.com/forum/general/general-talk/self-bleeding.
Raised hematocrit is no joke. Find a way to draw some blood is my suggestion.
Good suggestion...not a bad idea if OP can hit the antecubital fossa...then measure blood in a graduated container...500-600 cc's...
RustyhookerBad part is making an error. Theres valves in your veins that adjust pressure. Hands you can see where veins branch. Bifurcation
RustyhookerTry a different lab for donation. If you used bloodsource....go to red cross.
Estro is good.
Dehydration....piss clear or dark? Hydrated will be clear.
X2.. blood drives at schools....
Only place to give blood around here is Red Cross and I can't go there for several weeks. I don't have any other ideas on where to get rid of blood.
normally I'm adamant about water intake but last Friday when I went to the lab was the first day out of bed after the flu so I'm sure I was somewhat dehydrated.
If you were on cycle and your hematocrit was at 53, would you stop or finish out the last six weeks?
This is my second cycle so I'm still in need of advice like this.
RustyhookerHigh bp and high hematocrit needs attention. Cut out salt, hydrate...
Its not something you want on or off cycle.
