half way thru cycle
ad
hey guy, i'm currently in my 5th week of my 8 weeks sust & winny cycle. Apparently, on Sunday i injured the left side of my trunk (along the left illiac crest) during my warm up for my training. The only position that i'm comfortable with now is laying down or upright, sitting has a little strain on my back.
Now i got no idea if i should continue with the cycle and go for volume & isolation in my workouts or i should totally drop my cycle. I've read from other forums that people who got injuries during cycle, focus on muscle groups that aren't injured, but for me, the injury is within the core area, most exercises requires the core stability.
Just wondering if any of you guys ever had this problem? And any opinion of what i should do..?

I just went through something similar about 9 weeks ago. I tore the distal biceps tendon in my left arm mid cycle. The doctors wanted to operate which would have taken me out of the gym for a year.
I was given some prescription medication to manage the pain and decided to restrict certain exercises that directly irritated that tendon and finished the cycle. The pain is now gone and while I am vulnerable because of the tear, I'm glad I decided to work through it and stay on cycle. I got some nice gains.
What are the specifics and extent of your injury?
i guess i strained the muscles between the hip and lower back along the left side of my hip bone specifically the illiac crest. i tried using a tennis ball to find a trigger point but wasn't able to locate it.. but when i tilt to any direction, i can feel the pain there.
AnonWell winny makes people prone to injury due to drying up the lube for ur ligments and tendons ive heard lots of stories i would say drop the winny, some people say Deca will help ur joints.
I'm no dr lol. But if it were me I'd rest fully for a week before I made my decision of wether to continue or cut my losses. Depending on how bad the injury is a week of off time to recoup could do magical things. And is there a reason why you couldn't add on an extra week to the cycle if that one week rest period did work? Then it'd be like you never missed a beat...
+1 a weeks rest can be just what you need especially since this is a very important part of the body that was injured, its worth investing in it and letting it recover
i could add a week to my cycle, but im afraid that i'd get a bad lactic build up during my race day which is about a month from now... but yeah,, i'll take the week off for now, but should i dose this week? and btw, thanks.
I would absolutely say dose. You don't want to get through the week without dosing, end up being good to go, and have skipped a week. Like I said man, I'd give it a week and see how you feel. We all know our bodies here, and it'll let you know whats up. But you gotta give it a fighting chance to recover. I am young and healthy. My last cycle, way before I ever found this site and was still listening to the DUMB FUCKING JUICE HEAD FUCKS at my gym, I hurt my deltoid. Talked to an older guy in great shape, 45+or- year old, and he gave me that same advice. I took a week off came back and was good to go, and even a bit stronger than before cause I had a good solid rest week. Keep us updated!
Great advice. Listening to your body and resting when needed seems simple, but is rarely done. Maybe people are afraid of "wasting" their gear and feel they can't miss a workout. I've noticed the same thing when I take some time off; I come back stronger and better due to the rest.
