best cycle for physique?
The only cycle I've done was about 6 years ago. 500mg test e for 12 weeks. No side effects except higher bp and a little emotional on/off for a few days prob not even related to the compound. PCT was a breeze. However I was disappointed with the results. I gained about 30-35 pounds natty before cycle and gained maybe 7-10 pounds upon completing which I assume was mostly water. I didn't look good. Strength gains were incredible. Just not pleased with the physique and I know diet is critical here. I had high expectations.
Considering a second cycle aimed toward physique and lean bulk. What would you suggest?
I was thinking 12 weeks test/npp 400mg per week each with var the last 4-6 weeks at not yet determined dose.
Not scared of tren.
UPDATE I appreciate the comments. I've decided to possibly wait another several months and play with the diet. Also would suck to start a cycle and gyms get shut down again.

Test only and lots of cardio with a good diet if you want to be shredded OR test only and high weight & low reps with a good diet...those should be your only options at this point...good luck
BigCactusHigh weight low reps? Sounds like injury city to me. I don't see how high weight low reps is gonna help him achieve his goal of looking like a physique athlete.
Maybe because low reps with heavy weight tends to increase muscle mass, while high reps with light weight increases muscle endurance.
So, he is not wrong depending on how he is interpreting the word "physique" as the goal
Since the poster mentioned incredible strength gains from the prior cycle, and his goal is "aimed toward physique and lean bulk. One might assume his intent is to put on mass and not more tone.
In which case, his answer was correct. Yours, not so much.
BigCactusOP said he didn't like what he looked like during his last cycle dispite of the incredible strenght gains. So actually I do think he's looking for a more toned physique. Lean bulk: gaining muscle and minimising fat gains = a more toned physique than when you do a normal bulk. Not just gaining mass.
Low reps with heavy weights increases mass but puts you at higher risk for injuries like I said before. Next to low reps with heavy weights and high reps with light weights one can always do moderate weights and a moderate rep range (6 -10 rep range). I'd actually advise OP to pick one compound exercise per body part and do low reps heavy weight for that exercise, and for the other exercises to aim for the 6 - 10 rep range. Bodybuilders tend minimise low reps heavy weight because like I said its a recipe for disaster. I know this because I know a few pro level bodybuilders who actually worked with IFBB pros like Roelly Winklaar and William Bonac. And ofcourse from experience that others share on great forums like this one. So saying my answer is not correct is a little bit shortsighted.
Edit: Lol did you just copy this "low reps with heavy weight tends to increase muscle mass, while high reps with light weight increases muscle endurance" from genesishealthclub on google? I just copy and pasted that exact sentence and the same exact sentence is written on that website. Such a coincidence. Also when you google low reps with heavy weight" that same exact sentence is the first hit on google and can not be found anywhere else on the internet. Next time read the whole article though.
I google/copied because I'm dyslexic and find it easier than typing the entire thing out. Not that I didn't know the answer.
I criticized you because you negged Melvin who gave a good answer (giving an answer for both "shredded/toned" and mass based on the posters confusing use of the word physique)
I gave an explanation as to how one might interpret "physique" as gaining mass and not tone.
You should have actually gave your 2 cents and actually advised the OP with what you said above v attacking Melvin.
Are you part of the cancel culture? By negging Melvin, and now myself, for minor disagreements in thought stifles debate and conversation. Negging someone should be reserved for dangerous and inflammatory comments or actions. I did not neg you for your last comment even when I disagreed on your bullying reply to Melvin. But I am now. -6
BigCactusI would have never known that you are dyslexic if you didn't tell me now. I apologise. And not to patronise but if you hadn't told me I would have never known because your spelling is always impeccable. My english isn't the best either since I'm not a native speaker of the language.
I didn't give OP that advice because it didn't seem like OP was looking for training advice and what Melvin said about diet and cardio covered OP's bases. Physique issues (water retention etc) are usually fixed with diet and cardio.
And I disagree that I was bullying Melvin, atleast thats not how I saw it. If Melvin had taken in some more of the wealth of information on this forum he would have known that advicing heavy weight low reps to some who makes incredible strenght gains on cycle is in fact dangerous. That's how people get hurt, that's why there is so much footage of bodybuilders tearing muscles. They only do it for show, the rest of the time they don't train like that.
He should have atleast elaborated more on the rep range and what heavy weight exactly is (which % of the 1RM) ,the frequency of training and how to apply it exactly. Because just going balls to the walls every workout is a bad idea. That was the reason for my maybe too agressive response.
If you check my track record you'd see I actually stand up for others getting bullied. In the lab reports section for example when everyone is ganging up on one person again for no reason. I've done this numerous of times and then I get called a shill and whatnot.
But fairplay, I thought when you said something wrong you get negged, atleast thats what I always see. And yes me negging you and the rest of my comment on copying was childish. I felt butthurt haha. No the cancel culture is not something I'm very fond off lol.
There is no " Best Cycle for Physique " .
That stage is all diet and hard work , Either you have the Meso-Morph frame and genetics to stand on the Physique stage or you don't .
No amount of Steroids is going to change that.
YaSalameMaybe just use test 250mg for several months and then up the dose or add another compound. Building muscle needs time... so take your time.
RustyhookerIf ya dont know...take a seat. Dont post up bs here
I suggest you to go through this post. Very well written by our community member

LOL
I would run test E or C (depending on what you like) with deca .... Thats pretty much about it .... Tren not needed nor any orals .... Get a good diet going .... Keep it clean , n you will do great ... 12 weeks yea .... Youll see some good results yea there will be a bit of water ....but that goes away during PCT
I wouldn't recommend anyone to run a 19-nor if they haven't even been able to master a test only cycle.
AnonWhen you say you made great gains natty I assume you know your diet, training, supps...etc very well. So to hear your first cycle of 500mg of Test a week didn't yield very good results and PCT was a breeze...I can't help but think maybe your Test was underdosed and your PCT was good. Something was off.
You say it's been six years since you cycled so I can not recommend anything other than a Test only cycle for your next cycle. If your diet, training, sleeping, vitamins, supps, are all on point then a Test only cycle will yield great results! Especially after 6 years of not doing a cycle. Do your research in the forums and make sure you have everything you'll need or might need before you start a cycle.
Tren in a second cycle is not a good idea. In fact Tren is a really bad idea if you had emotional issues from just Test. I think you should stick to a Test only cycle, sir. It's been six years so you should treat this like it's a first cycle.
I guarantee your lack of results was 100% diet related. I'll say it again steroids don't make up for a shitty diet
It is not going to matter what you run if your diet is not dialed in 100% for the goal you are after. Study up on nutrition, nutrient timing, etc if you want to have a successful cycle not on what compounds to run because that does not matter one bit.
+1 from me, diet is everything! Something that's stated from all successful people in this sport.
RustyhookerGym is all ya need for physique. Food and get off the sofa chair
Molinin302Absolutely not, as Sega reiterated, its been years since your last cycle. There's been no mention of bloodwork and a physical to make sure you're healthy enough, but you want to run a 19nor and an oral? I'd say dial in your diet and stick to the testosterone, but when you finish with "I'm not afraid of tren." I can't in good conscience even recommend that. Fix your diet and check back. Best wishes bud.
My opinion, you have not yet mastered the first cycle you did. Nice test e which you stated no unwanted sides. Why not dial in your diet more then you did before, dial in your workout even more. Hit everthing alot more precise this time.
You've been off for 6 years, you do not know that your body is the same and will react the same it did all those years ago. So why try something completely new that you will struggle to monitor why you have the sides etc.
I'm no expert far from it, but learning on here daily. Wish you well in your cycle regardless of your choice. Just take your time and choose the rite one.
I've still been training these years. Working on diet and continuing to learn/develop/experiment different routines. I circled back to the idea of another cycle after hearing various veterans say their best cycle was usually stacked. like adding nandrolone for example; yielded far better results than test alone. I respect a test only cycle. I figured if I was going to dedicate the time and pct to another cycle why not make it count and try an extra compound?
You can make a test only cycle count. It's been years since your last cycle so you can still make great gains on it. I've done two test only cycles now added about 20lbs on the first and 15 on the second. Why start complicating cycles when you haven't exhausted the basics yet.
Anon+1
''Veterans'' you can easily make a test cycle count. If you hit diet and workout more then you have before. My opinion based on your information, good luck.
