Thyroid and Progesterone correlation

ad

I have been reading up on some info about the thyroid. I just found out I have hypothyroidism and am about to get put on T3 forever so I got curious. The first thing I noticed was the doctor ordered a test for T3, TSH, free T4 and progesterone. I am trying to find some info online but I cannot locate anything definite, other than bro science, that shows what effect one has on the other.

What i have found so far is they follow close hand in hand. A high thyroid level is positively related to a high progesterone level as well as a low progesterone level being equaled by a low thyroid output of T3 and T4. My question I guess, is when taking something like Tren, things that suppresses the T3 but increase progesterone, what does that do to that correlation? For instance, while taking tren you use an anti-progesterone but progesterone is suggested to increase thyroid production of T3 and T4. What is it about tren causes T3 suppression and if that is the case then is it actually the tren suppressing the thyroid or the use of anti-progesterone suppressing the progesterone which lowers the T3 since they have a positive correlation.

I am curious. I have done digging but I can only find female case studies for post menopausal women.

26 yrs old, 6 cycles and a thyroid condition... Say it isn't so LMAO! THIS is the very thing we talk about that every youngster thinks they are impervious too...

i have family history of thyroid issues. I have always been on the lower end of t3 and t4 levels but it never got enlarged. hoshimotos is genetically passed/predisposed. i'll admit, i tampered with some stuff too early, but that was an inexperienced fool and I didnt know who to listen to except for the idiot at the gym who gave me the gear. I didn't find eroids until 2 years ago so 2 cycles have been since I have been on here. i dont want to be a poster child for "you fucked up" but I made my mistakes and have been able to recover, thank god. If i didnt have people tossing tough love, who knows what else I would have fucked up... i was headed down the thyroid path since i was 8

but I made my mistakes and have been able to recover

If that is what you think then have at it son... the fact that you knew you had a family history of thyroid issues and continued to bombard your system for 2 yrs AFTER you had found eroids doesn't do much for your case bro... To even think that you haven't exacerbated your condition (and will continue to do so) through AAS shows lack of research and recklessness of youth - it sounds as if you are not planning on stopping annnnd you are still on a minor fishing expedition on tren... have you even gotten honest with your Doc about your AAS use? Drop the AAS and get your condition under control for crissakes! Get honest with your Doc to find out if AAS is even medically viable for you anymore... I can't believe there has not been ONE MEMBER to encourage you to do whats obvious and to lay of the gear ((SIGH))

no no no, sorry i dont want to sound bullet proof... god knows im not. I am saying "thankfully" the hiccups and mistakes I made havent been life altering but they could have been. no im not on tren now, tren was just in the last one.

My regular physician knew i was on gear, he was the one helping me out with bloods and making sure i recovered. he told me when i was a kid my thyroid was low, he watched while i was on tren and it never dipped out of the "relevant range". Obviously he didn't like that I was on gear. When I found out all this hashimoto stuff I am/was off gear, so he sent me to the endo. The endo i am seeing for the thyroid knows my cycle history and advised me to lay low for a while, so to your point I am steering away. He thinks we should have it figured out in about 2-4 months but that doesnt mean i will get back on that soon, i need to restart from go to better understand my body and gear. I haev given up tren for the foreseeable future if not all together, i was never ready for it and i think i was just buying into the hype and looking for a short cut... i fucked up. Stuff messed with my cholesterol and the sides arent worth the gains in my experience. That was, key word is was, my mistake.

Bottom line, i have fucked up. the thyroid is hereditary and was something i was predisposed to. Both parents have hypothyroidism. That doesnt mean I havent done damage (like the small swelling) but I am done with tren and off gear indefinitely. I was too young to begin with. I am staying off gear until i am medically cleared.

I hope none of this sounds cocky, arrogant, or anything... i am listening and appreciate the tough love. Harsh reality is I took a lot of unnecessary risks that could have really really really screwed me up. Im going to get off fix my shit... go back to the learning table and come back knowledgeable like I should have when I started gear

THIS is the info that should be in your post +3 for using your head bro :))

thanks dood. ill be around, posting, learning and listening. ill update this thyroid thing as it progresses... maybe shed some light on taking better care of the thyroid with respect to gear. i appreciate the help and the smack across the dome lol

birdbear27's picture

Maybe do a log for us detailing your experience from the start of your synthroid script? Give us a little notation of your progression and whatnot. That could be interesting.

BeastMode5085's picture

what section do you suppose i post a log in

birdbear27's picture

Cycle logs perhaps? That's my best guess. If it's in the wrong spot a mod will let ya know.

BeastMode5085's picture

I will for sure. Ill see if i can get my old tests ro show what happened on and off gear. Ill keep this going as i get straight.

birdbear27's picture

That's a bummer man. At least you know though. And you're not just going through the years wondering why you're getting fatter and feel like balls 24/7. Shit could be worse.

BeastMode5085's picture

yea it sucks but doc said with sythroid i will be fine... ive always been a big guy but never able to drop under 10-11% bf NO matter the diet, i just chalked it up to being an endomorph. i was just doing normal bloods and saw my t3 was really low and my tsh was high... and so began this deal. doc went through my history of bloods saw that I have always ranged towards the lower scale of t3 and t4 but never needed meds.... but since i am slightly enlarged now he thinks i should get on t3. funny thing is other than being able to gain weight easiliy (especially fat if i cheat) i dont have normal hypothyroid symptoms (foggy feeling, cold sensative, gain weight easy, feel puffy, ED issues)

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

LOL..... we can but try bro......

Interesting theory. Its 19-nors in general that suppress thyroid. I had bloods done on npp about 2 months ago and my thyroid was suppressed. Just had bloods done a few days ago after being off for about 5 weeks and every things back to normal.

BeastMode5085's picture

Yea apparently i have hashimoto disease, so my thyroid is like a roller coaster ride. Sometimes its function but then collapses then recover and so on. I have always run bloods so i jist must have missed the low points. Glad urs is recovered. Its a pain to go thru all this AND i just had knee surgery so im sick of docs lol

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Good info from the guys below. I think it goes back to estrogen control. Increase in estrogen will cause an increase in progesterone and prolactin. Keep your E2 in check and the others will be easily manageable.

BeastMode5085's picture

Thanks PC. Never had a problem w e2 but i wonder what tren deca and npp have done to me specifically. Ive always had a relatively low score in t3 and high in TSH

Dickkhead's picture

Tren suppresses T3 directly, not the DAs like prami or caber. Trenbolone is a progestin. Progestins are synthetic forms of progesterone that also seem to elevate prolactin as well in many people. Pramipexole and Cabergoline are PIH (dopamine) agonists - they elevate PIH (Prolactin Inhibiting Hormone) also known as dopamine.

I'm not sure the answer to your question is known - by what chemical mechanism does Trenbolone lower triiodothyronine (T3).

I do think you have an excellent doctor. Most specialists do not want to treat your condition with drugs like Cytomel (T3) directly because the dosing can be tricky - but T3 is going to give you the greatest symptomatic relief.

BeastMode5085's picture

Thanks GH.

I guess my new question since i goofed is since tren can increase progesterone, why is thyroid function not increased? If they really do have a positive correlation wouldnt the thyroid see a positive upswing if progesterone is?

birdbear27's picture

Well when on a 19nor like tren you take anti prolactin drugs. Not anti progesterone. I believe with Tren (I could be wrong) it is in fact pprogesterone based, but doesn't actually raise progesterone specifically, at least not that I've ever read. So your thoughts, if I understand, is that the tren lowering your thyroid function contradicts the fact that high progesterone=high thyroid function and vice versa. When in fact you are just misinformed about trens effect on progesterone vs prolactin.

BeastMode5085's picture

It looks like i jumped too fast i was thinking prolactin and not progesterone. Good catch, im an idiot
