Quad Pinning

ad

Does anyone have any resources that explain pin rotation or how to pin upper quad vs lower quad?

I'm currently rotating between quads and delts, but some lingering PIP has me worries to go back to the same area of my quad and I don't want to go too high or too low. Not sure why, but pinning glutes freaks me out and seems difficult one handed, plus I sit a lot for work

Thanks for the help!

I have been doing this for 20+ yrs and still HATE quad injections. Too many nerves and
veins in my legs.

Yeah I have hit a few recently and they are not fun. Still not unbearable though.

Hey I have a question to add if you don't mind, it's about quad pinning. I pin myself when I'm on cycle and im not a big fan of needles so I have a very tough time pinning my glutes or delts but my quads don't bother me.

I wanted to know is it ok if I just pin my quads during a whole cycke?

I know it's been said below but give the ventro glute site a go. If you can pin your quads you should have no problem with this. Gearhead has an excellent post on this with a link to a YouTube video. My view on your specific question is it really depends on how much you are pinning, how often and how long the cycle is. I believe the general rule of thumb is to give sites at least a weeks break and don't pin more than the maximum recommended per site. So for a long ester only cycle with twice a week pinning with between 2 to 3ml you should in theory be ok just using quads - depending on how long your cycle is. Now personally I like to give my sites a longer break of possible so would use other sites (delts, ventro glute, triceps etc.) even on a long ester only cycle. If you're using shot esters then quads alone simply won't cut it.

Everyone has been saying give a week in between pinning the same spots. If you rotate different parts of the outer quad you should be fine, but I have been enjoying my quad, quad, delt, delt rotation. I have much less pain and pip in the delta than quad. Personal preference tho

This has an estimate on how much oil to pin on a quad and rotation hope it helps

Thank you! Great info!

Depending on how large your legs are they're is so many spots. I got upper/outer quad, mid/outer quad, lower/outer quad. Upper/front quad, mid, low ect. 2 sites on each ventro glute, upper/lower. Then delts, I hit medica only. 2 sites on each tricep. Done biceps too, not a fan. But 2 sites on each bicep. Two sites on each calf. Even do lats, or traps if you run out but even if your pinning daily you can see you can find enough sites to give at least a week between pins in the same place

Ventroglutes brother, even if it takes you an hour to find the spot, it's worth it trust me. Add that and the glutes, now you have 8 sites. Even if you stop pinning quads, that's 6.

Thanks for condensing those into one place. Very helpful.

Do you rotate between upper and lower quads or stick to center?

Thanks!

7 day minimum per injection site, so as long as its been 7 days you can pin a site. you can use the 4 sites as long as you follow the 7 day principal, My Doc told me that one and I never had an issue in 4 years.

Great thanks. Yeah its been 10 so I think I'm good.

It's an unusual site but you can try lats. I never feel the needle going in and it seems to hold a ton of oil no problem. But glutes are still one of the best sites for pinning in my experience. You can also give ventroglutes a shot

BeeCee's picture

Thanks. Any issues with PIP in the lats?

Just like any new site the first couple gave a bit but soon enough absolutely nothing

Thanks. I appreciate the help.

Gets those glutes into the rotation. Your going to need them. Quads have become a nightmare for me. Seems like I hit a nerve everytime. Wait till that happens, you will never want to pin quads again.

waterhead235's picture

That's exactly what I did. I used to pin quads, delts, and pecs but never touched glutes. Last time I pinned quads was almost a year ago when it took me 3 times to finally get a spot that wasn't directly in a nerve. I will never pin my quads ever again in my life. Glutes are they way to go man, I don't know why I was so stubborn and took so long to pin them?

After reading this you made me remember my 1st time I hit a nerve in my quad, felt like a gunshot with a bullet soaked in rubbing alcohol.

damn you double post

BeeCee's picture

Yeah my problem is PIP in my quads, I'm trying some new things to lessen it, but I'm still worried I'm sensitive there. Might have to just man up and figure out the glutes.
