Performance enhancers for endurance sports..

ad

Hey guys...this Lance Armstrong stuff got me thinking. I'm a high level rugby player and was thinking about substances that help performance in sports like Rugby (1.5-2hrs, burts of high intensity work, short rests relatively speaking, etc). I haven't really done any AAS or even Supps in years besides creatine, protein, caffeine, and and albuterol (have asthma). I though about doing some test cyp, and then also thought about adding EQ to the test for obvious reasons as it applies to ligaments, tendons, joints, and contact sports.

What other substances, legal or illegal, actually help in sports like rugby? I'm not about to go out and try all this shit, I'm just wondering. Anything that people would be surprised that guys may take before football or rugby or soccer, etc? (Or even runners, sprinters, cyclist for that matter). Just wondering as some of you dudes know a lot of shit about various steroids, medicines, vitamins, minerals, etc...ha ha. Thought it could be an interesting discussion!

Cheers

As mentioned was thinking about running test and EQ, but started to research anavar. What do y'all think ?
Would var and EQ be better for a rugby player looking to get stronger, heal up, and put on 5-10 pounds?

Any thoughts on my post above?

Hey buddy. Used to play rugby, love the sport. I assume you saw the England vs All Blacks game:-)
If your thinking about running a cycle, chuck some stats up here and on your profile.

Ha..yea I saw that match. England looked damn good and AB looked tired. Still, it was quite a steak they had going, though.

I'll add my stats to my profile, but I also started a thread in the steroid cycle forum that goes into detail. I'm 32, 6'1, 218#, usually play #6, and am quite an effective jumper in the line out for my height. Been known as a good tackler with a high motor. My 1RM are : bench 315, squat 350-375 range, and DL 450. Also incorporate Plyo, sprinting, and Olympic lifts regularly in my training.

I have not used AAS since around 2003/04. That was college for me where I was also playing rugby, and lets just say I didn't use them 'correctly'. Was looking at running test cyp for 10-12 weeks, and adding in some EQ. I have plenty of aromasin, proviron, hcg, nolva, and clomid on hand, and was just waiting to figure out exactly what I want to do.

I'm looking at adding about 5-7 pounds of solid muscle (more would be ok but nothing extreme), and hopeful that some nagging pains/injuries could see some benefit. Left ankle was scoped in 2007 and has never been the same, which of course has now affected my low back at times (nothing major I still function fine - just pains and tightness, some swelling, etc). I'm IN SEASON now. Also due to the fact that I did used to do AAS like an idiot, I really just want to keep doses on the low side and enjoy the benefits. Certainly appreciate any advise. Cheers!

Not by me! I do need to read more on here though! Sorry if a repost of a similar topic.

You think athletes outside of the long endurance sports like running and cycling are using EPO? It's crazy I've never really heard of dudes using it. Hard to get?

ccrtx77's picture

Was he referring to the fact that EPO inhances performance more than AAS?

For whatever reason a lot of endurance athletes liked winny back in the day. What everyone else told you is correct. Increased RBC is the ticket. What increases the RBC like no other? EQ! It was designed for race horses if i'm not mistaken. That tells you all you need to know right there. In the fight game there are other things floating around to spike performance and aggression but nothing i'm comfortable talking about in the open (not all AAS related). Never heard of EPO. But as far as AAS, look at the compounds that increase rbc. More oxygen in the blood stream equates to better endurance.

I'd never heard of EPO either. Was relatively familiar with AAS ( and EQ in particular ) raising RBC.
The fighters and the shit they take sound fucking crazy the more I hear/learn about them.

EPO is the shortened name for erythropoietin. Simply put it is a hormone produced primarily in your kidneys and stimulates erythrocyte (red blood cell) production in your bone marrow. Your kidneys will produce erythropoietin under hypoxic conditions, or when your body is starved of oxygen. This is why endurance athletes often train at high altitudes. EPO dramatically increases your hematocrit which is the percentage of RBC in your blood volume. Exogenous EPO is the single most effective endurance enhancing drug out there but is also highly dangerous. Complications can include heart attack, stroke, blood clots, and other unintended effects. The reason for most side effects is that the blood becomes much thicker due to the increase in RBC's. Most professional athletes who have used EPO have had a doctor on staff administering the drug. It's pretty dangerous stuff obviously and not recommended for recreational users. The 2 most common brand names for EPO are Procrit/Epogen.

Lol, yes! Thats one way to put it.

Well any time an increase in endurance is going go be adventitious, increasing RBC levels is going to help. Most AAS compounds will increase those levels, some better than others such as boldenone. A simple addition of test is going to do your body a great deal by itself. Don't forget that test is what makes us men. Stronger, leaner, added stamina can all be positive sides for you while running test. You would definitely not want to touch tren. It would do the exact opposite of what you're trying to achieve. Epo is what most cyclists use. It drastically increases red blood cells aiding in an increase of endurance levels. Oral stimulants could help such as ephedra or clen. You have little cycle experience and knowledge so I'm not going go get into stacking various compounds or anything like that, but if you spend some time reading as much as you can on here you'll figure things out pretty quickly.

Good reply yoked. Thanks for the info.

Yea, I'm familiar with AAS as it relates to stamina, but you're right I'm definitely not a cyclist ha ha. I have never heard of EPO before this week. I was also just speaking about substances like this that athletes take before competition (not necessarily AAS). I know there have been some crazy things athletes have tried throughout history!
