Heating gear before pinning

ad

I understand that it helps with the pip. What is the best way to heat it? Hold it under warm running water? hold it over an open flame? stick it in a microwave? last one?... probably not so much ha ha thanks for the help

I load the syringe and hold it under hot running water. obviously keep the cap on the needle so as the un sterile water doesn't run all over the needle. I've never had any problems.

You guys do know you bumped a year old post, right?

Warm the loaded syringe with a hair dryer

Don't heat the syringe under running water that's not sterile. What I do is get a small bowl and add 1.5 inches of water and microwave for 1 minute then set the bottle in there for about 1 minute to warm up.

I just hold the loaded barral under hot running water for about 20 seconds and shoot haha. It takes 20 seconds...lol. I dont have time for all those elaborate heating methods. I leave the draw pin on while heating, then switch to a new pin for shooting.

Like the idea. I'll have to try that next time. Thanks for the info.

Wow, all these guys are making it sound so complicated to warm up your gear lol. I just leave the vials on the heater in my apt and it's warm after less than 5 min. Done!

Make a cup of tea or coffee. Load up the barrel and rest it on top of the cup. When it's ready to drink, your ready to shoot. Then have your drink. That's what I do anyway

Take a coffee mug put the vial in it and mark where the rim of the vial is with a sharpie. Then start your hot water tap when the water is warm but not too hot fill the cup to about two centimeters below the line place the vial in the coffee cup (make sure the water does not touch the rim). To heat a syringe keep it in the sterile packaging and place it in between two heating pads. Leave both in their respective places for two minutes. Remember to dry off the vial before inverting it.

Have fun.

With this method I have been able to inject 250 test e through a 27g needle in about a minute.

Heating pad. Wrap the vial in it, turn it on medium. Take a hot shower. Roll the vial in between hands for thirty seconds, should be body temp at that point.

Never used a blow dryer, I live with family and have a crew cut, soooo them hearing a blow dryer would be strange. Using the heating pad you don't have to stand there waiting for it to heat up, just go do something else for a few minutes.

Damn, after reading what all these people do, haha, my way is super simple. I pin in the AM, what I do is grab my bottles and put them between my skin and my boxer (the stretchy part) then make breakfast and eat and such. By the time I need to pin, the bottles are as hot as I am.

I personally like to boil water, pour it in a beaker and swirl the bottle around in it. Problem is the label won't survive but this method is what I use

IYO does reheating and cooling the oil have any adverse effects? This sounds way easier! Lol

I've never had a problem

Blow/hair dryer works best for me. Draw with a 20G pin, replace with 23 or 25G, heat for about a minute...... BOOM! Also, I've noticed when pinning, if I go slow when burying the needle, PIP is more prominent than if I quick jab and use a slow release....I'll watch the clock and give myself a full minute to inject. Get you a clock that has an actual minute hand to be more accurate.

j223's picture

Blow dryer is not a sterile technique. Just take a small bowl with water and microwave it and set the bottle in it for a min before you draw into the syringe

Blow dryer, before that I used a space heater.....

Bro stay away from the water!! It got me good! blowdryer works the best! good luck!!

I pull everything up with a 22g and then place the syringe under a stream of hot water in the sink. I only let the water hit the syringe, not on the pin. After 10 or 15 minutes, I pull the 22g off and replace it with whatever pin I'm gonna inject with. I can shoot our oils through a 27g slin like this. This may not be the best method for warming it up, but keep in mind that last year I pinned 200+ times and never once had any sort of infection or irritation much at all.

Alright thanks for the help gentlemen

The best and safest ways I've come across are either placing the vial on an electric candle warmer to heat it up (what I do) or wrap the loaded syringe or vial in a heating pad.
Putting a loaded syringe in water is a BAD idea! I've seen WAY too many people get infections using that process. This process exposes the gear to way too much risk of bacterial exposure.(even with the cap on)

run hot water from tap for few min. until very hot then fill 20 oz. cup. then place loaded syringe in hot cup for few more min. the syringe shoud feel warm not hot. then your reddy. p.s. leave cap on syringe when in water

Gerbil's picture

You realize that the caps on syringes are not water proof?

boots2asses12's picture

blow dryer is best man up and buy one lmao , you dont really want water w/possible bacteria but i guess if you boil it ...
