It's technique that gets it done more than mere strength! Interesting post!

100% agree with you! Technique will destroy most but, like the last super match with Todd Hutchings and Matt mask Todd was just too brutally strong. Mask had every advantage, height, leverage, hand control and Todd still won so fucken awesome! Not too many people that strong though still would agree technique will win most of the times until you run into a beast like that guy haha.

hell yea love it, I was reigning champ through high school lol I was a freshman pulling down seniors in the lunch room ahhh the good ole teenage days. Thought I was hot shit until I arm wrestled a few real arm wrestlers in the military, I quickly found out strength is not everything, technique is 50% of the game and I had none.

Haha I was there with you! Didn’t take down any seniors but always was a pretty strong guy. First arm wrestling tournament I entered got destroyed like nothing haha. Technique is definitely a huge part! Right there with strength, genetics and training also having confidence in yourself is a huge part of it. I was timid and unsure my first tournament no wonder I got annihilated! The genetics part is huge too if you have thick wrist and big hands you’re almost built for arm wrestling. I was thinking of using some gh see if I can make my hands bigger haha

Haha I’m sure that’s happened before. As long as one foot is on the ground I guess you could flail your other foot by “accident”

Out of interest bud - which exercises do you find help with arm wrestling?

Armwrestlingfiend's picture

Finger and wrist strength are super important here as that’s where your power starts. You can have plenty of arm strength but if you can’t connect it through your finger and wrist then you’ve most likely already lost. So, Anything that strengthens your fingers and wrists. All variations of wrist curls with fat grips or bigger, dead hangs are one of my favorites and arm wrestling of course. Really there is too much to list.
