Hi, just looking for a few opinions on my situation. My family Dr. did some blood work and found that my testosterone was 237 so he prescribed some Androgel %1.62 at two pumps a day. My Doc is a great guy but he doesn't really understand that T replacement would shut down my own test, raise estr. levels and such. I'm 47 years old and really feeling like crap. I used to be in good shape as recently as a year ago but since have gained 40 lbs,have a gut, am tired, depressed, low libido etc. I took the Andro at 2 pumps a day and all I really noticed was a little aggression, higher blood pressure and my testes were a lot smaller... but I didn't feel any improvement. I took it for about a month and a half then stopped because of the shrinkage problem and also because I thought I noticed some mild gyno. I went to a Urologist who supposedly specialized in male problems, when I explained things he actually tried to tell me that test should make em bigger and that my levels were borderline.I think he thought I was just there for ED meds as he gave me some cialis. I had another blood test taken about 2 weeks after stopping the Andro and that showed my test as 261 total and 3.9 free, but he didn't check any other levels. I wish I could find an Endo who could monitor my levels and keep things balanced. Does going on TRT mean my own testosterone production will shutdown, or is there a way for a Doctor to treat my low test but still get me to produce my own test? I had been on a couple of cycles in my 30's and felt great while be on, though my pct may not have been the best. Just wondering if doing things myself might not be better for restarting my own production? Please let me know your thoughts as I want to make the most informed decision I can make. Thanks
