Hey guys, I've been having the classic low to symptoms for a while now. I'm 41. I just got my blood drawn today, but I fear that I may have gone Down the wrong road. I contacted an anti aging clinic for the lab order. They advertise their speciality as bio identical hormone replacement. From what I've read, these are quite a bit more costly than synthetic injectables. Should I even bother going to the consultation when my labs come in. Or should I just contact an endo? Thanks and I look forward to learning from you guys.

UPDATE: Dr. called and said my labs are in and wanted to make an appointment. BTW we don't accept insurance and the initial visit is $450. So I said "you're crazy, send my labs to me" they go on to tell me they have to be mailed because there is 25 pages of lab results. Can this be real? Can any one share how to decifer these when I get them? what tests are actually important? And what Normal ranges are?

Is there a difference in the approach of an endo compared to a urologist?
Endos primarily deal with diabetes and thyroid. Granted, there are some great TRT endos out there. I've only had one good Endo, imo. I've never he a bad urologist with TRT. Endos focus on the numbers. Urologists go off how you feel. Huge difference for me.
I use a urologist. Either would be fine.
It depends on how instrumental you are when it comes to helping them want to think outside the box...:)
I haven't read much positive info about the anti aging clinics on Eroids. I started with my regular doctor and then went to my urologist. Very happy with my urologist. More knowledgeable about TRT and a schedule of regular blood tests to keep everything in check. Regular doctor would only go as far as a gel which did not do much at all for me. Urologist agreed with me, more blood tests, and then started me on self injections of Test C, been happy with that choice ever since.
Bio identical = testosterone ( available in different ester's or esterless)
Synthetic = most of the other steroids you here about ( they are lab modified testosterone molecules )
and mostly unattainable from a clinic.
Sounds like they are putting lipstick on a pig.
Go to the consultation and get your labs printed off, unless that costs money for the consult. If that's the case, request they are mailed to you. Then go see an Endo.
Actually, go see a urologist.
