Low T with High free testosterone

ad

I just had my labs come back and I will be seeing my doctor Thursday but anyone have low T but high free testosterone? My testosterone serum level is 236 but my free testosterone is a little high, 26.7 on a range of 8.7-25.1. Any thoughts?

MedDx's picture

For someone on TRT, bloodwork should include a lipid and Thyroid profile, shbg, estradiol, in addition to what doc pulled on you...What's your doc prescribed dose and frequency, bro?

Pooreboy1130's picture

When I was taking TRT it was 200mg Cyp every 10 days.

I don't want to hijack the thread but neither my doctor not the endocrinologist tested for estradiol with me. Should I be pushing for this going forward with my treatment?

Makwa's picture

My urologist doesn't test for estro either. He said that with your test in the normal range you shouldn't have issues with estro, and I haven't had any issues. Complain about some sensitive nips and they will throw an estro test on there for you.

It's simply damn good data to have, so yes, make it a point to figure out where your E numbers are! +1 for a damn good question that I hope other men pay attention to.

I'm going to make sure to ask next week when I go for my next appointment.
Have to have bloods taken before my shot anyway, so surely it can't be much for them to request estero be added on

Agreed

Well i was off TRT for about a yr while trying to get my wife pregnant but now we have our son I have decided to go back on just to see if my blood levels are fucked from cycling. This is a different test then I had before. All i did was call for an appointment and told the nurse I needed blood test for low T, this is waht they sent. I'm going to the dr Thursday so ill find out then, thought it would be a quick answer. Thanks though

MedDx's picture

Have you taken any testosterone in the last year? I'm trying to clarify your statement above.. Smile

Pooreboy1130's picture

Yes I was on cycle, i stopped my TRT about 1.5yrs ago, my wife got pregnant, i started AAS but not TRT. I just got off a 20week cycle of 400 test E and 600 boldenon. Its been 2 yrs since I've been to my Dr.

MedDx's picture

Oh okay.. makes sense...When did your cycle end?

Pooreboy1130's picture

I misread your last question, my cycle ended September 24.

MedDx's picture

After your appointment, PM me and let me know how it went. Thanks, bro. Smile

Pooreboy1130's picture

Will do and thank you for the info.

Post up your bloods. Many members here can help trouble shoot with you. Also, tell us your AAS history, TRT history, goals, diet, etc.

I dont have my results available on my phone, will have to do it later my prostate ag serum level was .9. Lsh and FS were both .1 my test was 238 and my free testosterone was a little high. Thats all they tested, no estrogen. I have been on TRT for about 3 yrs and AASt for last 2 yrs. Ran multiple 10 week cycles on 600 test E every week, 30mg dbol ed, 300 deca. Ran a cycle of tren E @ 200/wk with 400 test E and 30mg dbol. I only run the orals for 7 weeks. My diet is not great, I take 1 serving of mass tech daily, oatmeal & toast for breakfast, lunch depends on what restaurant we eat that day, may be pizza, maybe burgers, may be chicken wraps. Protein shake in afternoon. Dinner fluctuates as well, let's just say I only look at calories, not the quality of calories, which I know is something I need to work on. My daily calorie goal is 3000-3800, i have always been lean and a hard gainer. I have a small frame and have always been little, about 150lbs. I got on AAS and run between 185-195 so now that I have the weight on i need to learn how to diet. Thats a lot to type, ill just wait till Wednesday and talk to the dr. Thanks though.

Regarding blood tests, listen to our boy MedDx up above. He's got a damn good eye for helping people make sense of their numbers.

Regarding TRT, it sounds like you know the realities and ramifications of that choice (the life sentence of pinning, not to mention worrying about estrogen, test, red blood cell count, blood pressure, etc).

Regarding your son, congrats! Being a parent is a fuck ton of work, but being a daddy is awesome.

Regarding diet, that's the hard part, but it's paramount to eat "lean, clean and green" when you're fucking with your endocrine system. The more meat & veggies (in general) that you can get in your diet (compared to foods with processed sauces, lots of breads & pizza dough, etc) the better off you'll feel, always, but you're a grown man and you know this.

Regarding your cycles, you're a bit more cavalier with chemicals, especially orals, than some people here would advise. (That's not me judging you. I'm simply noting that, here at eroids, we all preach SAFETY, simply cuz too many young men make dumb ass decisions with AAS.)

There are a lot of vets here who can help you dial in future cycles to help you achieve your goals while minimizing the amount of chemicals you're using, assuming you're open to hearing their advice.

Pooreboy1130's picture

Thanks for taking the time to post. I appreciate all the advice I can get and am always open to suggestions. I do have a question, you said I am a bit more cavalier on my orals, is 30mg dbol for 7 weeks too much? All I have read says that's about "normal". I understand that 7 weeks is the max I wanna run orals but didn't think the dose was off.

+1 for a good attitude and an open mind. You'll fit in great here, brother.

Regarding oral steroids, the mentality is the same as AAS that you pin.

IT'S ALL ABOUT WHAT YOUR GOAL IS.

Orals are typically utilized for short term gains, not long term. For young men reading the TRT section, the obvious reason to avoid orals is, they can be insanely brutal on your liver.

The biggest reason the lads here on eroids are hesitant to promote orals is, they're much more easily abused than oils. With oils, you gotta stick a damn needle in yourself, so young men aren't as cavalier with needles as they are pills. Orals? The "I want it now" mentality of a young guy is, "Just pop 'em like candy!" Then, these young men wake up in the fetal position with cramps worse than a teenage girl on her menstrual cycle, with eyes that are as yellow as bananas, and they wonder if they're gonna perish.

In short, oral steroids are simply easily abused.

Most men here will only advise any oral runs for the non-competitor for a four week run. 30mg per day of d-bol is a dose that a person should see GREAT gains while minimizing the side effects, assuming they have the rest of the puzzle put together (AI's, training, diet & rest).

In general, if you're not competing, or getting ready for a barn raising, pool party or a wedding or something, then why mess with orals in general? (Obviously, it depends on goals, as you know! The majority of men here on this site, let alone the TRT section, wish to utilize testosterone for quality of life and health, not necessarily competitive reasons.)

Pooreboy1130's picture

That's great insight! I don't compete and I understand where you are coming from by saying "I want it now " attitude, honestly that was my mentality, and now I see is a problem. I will be 40 next month and just want to look good with my shirt off and not to mention it's nice to hear people make comments on your physique in daily life. Thanks again for taking time to respond.

Anybody over 35 should avoid all orals, IMO. And if you buy orals, test them with labmax dot ca. Whatever you think you're buying, you have a nontrivial chance of getting something like oral Winnie mixed in that will straight up wreck your body.

Greg's picture

I understand the argument that there is a significant chance that you'll get something other than what is advertised. But the same can be said about oils as well.

But why would Winnie, "straight up wreck your body." if I thought I was taking dbol?

And why are All orals bad for those of us over 35?

true grit's picture

I don't know, but I'm over 35 and married. I consider myself extremely lucky if I get any oral, even if it does straight up wreck my body.

Makwa's picture

Anybody over 35 should avoid all orals, IMO.

And why is that?
