Just went to a hormone therapy specialist...

Just went to a hormone specialist and was found to have testosterone of 167. The doctor ran a battery of tests and wants to put me on Testosterone Cypianate and HCG. I will have to inject myself weekly. Twice with the HCG and once with the testosterone. I am 46. Does this sound right?

Thanks fellas, what "she" said was a treatment trial period for 4 months at 1/2 ML testosterone and 300 IU HCG twice prior to the testosterone injection. From there a blood test would be done to see how it is working with me and adjusted accordingly. She also said to check in after the first month if I have any nipple tenderness. She would put me on an anti estogen med only if I needed it. She said they try to use the best therapuetic amounts of these meds to mitigate liver toxicity which can happen over time if the meds are not just right.
She seemed to take a genuine interest in making this work for me. I had originally gone to my doctor who gave me androgel, then another doc I talked to said he test me then if I needed it give me an injection every 10 days but I got worried when I read about testicular atrophy and he dismissed it.
This clinic was recommended by a friend who is very happy with them. They dont generally deal with insurance but made sure my blood work was covered before doing it. It does not seem terribly expensive and they seem to be knowledgable,
It sounds like they know what they are doing, as is usually the case with the anti-aging clinics from what I understand. I've been dealing with an Endo that won't prescribe HCG, so I'm going to go the anti-aging clinic route as well. Who knows how long it would take to find a doc that would take my insurance and check free t, shbg and all of the other hormones that play a role in feeling healthy. It blows my mind that doctors will put people on trt with no thought keeping their nuts alive.
Another thing you might need is an aromatase inhibitor (estrogen blocker) like anastrozole. It depends on how your body responds to higher test levels. For me, at 150mg a week, I started feeling the effects of high estrogen levels. Itchy nips, bloated and general tired shitty feeling. The Dr prescribed 1mg every day. I did that for a few days and felt better. Then I split the test injections to twice a week and the anastrozole to .5mg every other day.
The best advice that I could give is read, read and read some more about trt. There are a ton of active forums that can be found with google. Did you go to an insurance taking Dr or an anti-aging clinic?
The injection protocol sounds perfect, what dosages did he say he would use?
How much test does he have you on per week?
