Endocrinologist help

ad

Not really happy with my current doctor. He just my regular family practice doc, so not really much help with the trt. I'm on 200mg every two weeks and I'm still under 600ng/dl with no ai or hcg. My main concern is my sex drive, which still isn't where it needs to be, since it really affects my relationship with my wife. I'm hoping somebody can give me a suggestion on a good endo in the tucson or phoenix area, can anybody give me some suggestions? I also have United Healthcare if anybody happens to have the same

I'm a big fan of more frequent injections with TRT. I do 50mg every three days. I would suggest trying that. If I were injecting 200mg once every two weeks, I'd feel like ass too. Your dosing is standard. I wouldn't change doctors.

Supplement some cialis, until you stabilize your levels with more frequent injections. Also, request your blood work be mailed to you. Always good to have your own records.

Yeah, I'm going to pin 100mg per week after this shot. I would start now, but I'm already 2 weeks since my last pin. Isn't cialis for erectile dysfunction? I don't have a problem with ed, I just don't ever get "in the mood".

Muffins's picture

Go with every three days. Give it a month and you'll feel it. Your problem is a common complaint amongst those doing weekly injections too.

I've been in the libido slump many times. Being able to get wood with little effort can help jump start an intimate moment.

So since I get 200mg/ml that would be 40MG per injection? Also I only get the 1ml vials because my insurance won't cover a 10ml vial, how would I split that dose to get 40mg? Pull it to the 2nd line between 0 and 1/2ml?

Muffins's picture

It would be between the second and the third line.

Also, I don't have an endo. The doc I've been seeing is just my regular family doctor. That's why I'm hoping somebody can recommend a good endocrinologist in my area

Just had bloods done after my 3rd shot of 200mg every 2 weeks. I started off at 320 (this was also taken in the morning, so higher levels than mid day), doc called me today and I'm up around 560. Had them run me for estrogen too and all they told me was I am in "normal" range. "Normal" range for test is 350-1200, but if you look into these test ranges this is for all age groups. A study was done later on by age group which showed that my age group should be well over 600ng/dl. I honestly don't care what my levels are as long as I don't feel tired all the time and have my sex drive back. Also my doc had originally told me that he wanted me between 600-800, but now he doesn't want to do anything else since I'm in "normal" range.

sorry to say this, but test is not going to magically make you have a sex drive. If your level is where you say, you are having other issues not test related. Depression, anxiety, including performance anxiety. When I am at normal levels and stressed, no sex drive, when im at normal levels with no stress, I would get hard if the wind blew. I might lean towards rusty comment he made to this post. My family doctor sent me to an endo after bloodwork. If you find your family doctor wont raise you above normal its because there is no fkn need for it.

This is my first time on test, I'm no expert. Today will be my 4th shot. I've researched a ton trying to get all this shit in check. Believe me, I would love to not be on trt, but I am. You say your stress level affects your sex drive even when you have normal levels, thats good to know. Obviously you have more experience with trt than I do. Just because I'm inexperienced in all of this everybody is all up in arms and telling me I'm self dosing. I'm not, I just wanted some fucking help. I live in a small as mining town in arizona, we aren't exactly know for having the best doctors here, so forgive me for having some doubts. I see stuff like the video here http://tctmed.com/how-long-does-testosterone-take-to-work/, this is nothing like my trt so yeah maybe I have some fucking doubts

I myself did a shit ton of research even before my endo said he was going to start injecting me. I wanted to make sure it was needed since its forever and not temporary. in my time on I have experimented with dosing, a.i, and timing. After a few years you know where you need to be and when something isnt right. Keep researching and ask your doctor a ton of questions. You are still wet behind the ears and it takes weeks to stabilize in your blood. Once it does you will know. Also stop stressing about your sex drive, you make it worse. Go to your happy place, watch some porn, put yourself happy and it will make a ton of difference.

Thanks for that. It helps to have some positive feedback. I am still wet behind the ears, thats why I'm worrying about not feeling different, not being on an ai, and not being on hcg. I ask my doc tons of questions, but he is really lacking in information. I feel like I already know more about trt than he does. He even told me,contrary to popular belief, that there is not reason to pin once a week instead of once every two weeks. He also said my estrogen shouldn't ever come up since this is a normal does and not what bodybuilders are using, on top of telling me that injecting this testosterone won't shut down my testicles so kids should be no issue. Pretty much EVERYTHING he has told me contradicts everything I've learned about testosterone and trt, which is why I'm now in the market for an endocrinologist

IrishMack's picture

If what you say is true, ask your doctor for a referral or take your bloods and prescription to an endocrinologist. They should put you on the right path. If your doctor is hesitant to do so, do it anyways with your bloods and your script. That alone will get you where you need to be.

His medical assistant called me about referring me to an endocrinologist, should hear something soon

IrishMack's picture

There you go, good luck and keep up the research.

xr88's picture

Thanks. Hopefully this endo will be more knowledgeable about trt, getting tired of pinning with 21ga needles lol

I'm not self dosing and I would have no problem saying it if I was. I was looking into running regular cycles before I ever got on trt. I have a source that I can get test from if I really wanted to go underground, but I want to do this the right way. Why do you think I'm asking for a good endocrinologist? If I was self dosing I would just push 500mg per week with arimidex .25mg every 3 day, while getting bloods periodically to keep my estrogen in check. You don't have any input that's helpful? cool, peace

Brother, at 26 years old, that's just a bummer that you've gotta pin with TRT. Bad bummer indeed. However, this place is indeed the right place to be to learn, let me tell you.

I can tell you that I spent over 2k over six months with my doc, then an endo, and never did get on TRT because I was "still normal" at 320. Thus, my only "legal" option is to talk to an online TRT clinic and go through that whole song and dance. Ah, the joys of getting older.

I can't help you regarding your specific geographic region, but I can suggest trying an online TRT clinic. I have zero experience with them, so read around on eroids (magnifying glass up at the top left) and search for this topic. Maybe this can help. Whatever the case, good luck!

Yeah, it sucks having to be on trt at only 26. My levels were the same as yours were, but my lab panel showed low. I think my panel was done by labcorp, you may want to look into that. Their range is 350-1200 so you would definitely come back low. I just hope you have a better doc than I do because honestly at 560, I still feel like shit. I read your profile and the way you describe feeling is exactly how I feel, except I'm 15 years younger lol. Hopefully I can find a doc that's willing to get me where I need to be, and hopefully that lab panel can help you as well
