Transgender New world Record.

I’m sure some of you have read this in the news. Recently a Transgender Broke numerous Women’s powerlifting records.

I’m curious as to your thoughts about this. In your comments, I recommend sharing your opinion but being respectful about it. I have a close friend on this page who has a transgender family member who also wields a pretty strong ban hammer if he needs to.
I’m personally of the opinion that trans people should not compete. Being born with male hormones gives a huge advantage physically over someone who wasn’t . I think I’m some instances people who were born with female parts taking testosterone for male characteristics could also gain an unfair advantage depending on the dosage.
How will this play out in future olympics?
I’m curious as to everyone’s opinion if they have one.

That is a completely different thing. Gays compete as males. Not sure how you can try to even make that statement.
I'm not addressing the issue of trans being treated differently in society as a whole.

Conversely it should be noted that a trans male would have an equally unfair disadvantage competing in the male category.
I'm pointing out how we don't try and segregate based on sexual preference as a president for doing the same for gender identity.
This is a mistake, because, a solution that does not account for that would have far reaching social implications.
Sexual preference does not give them an unfair hormonal advantage over other athletes.
Gender identity (trans males) DOES give them an unfair hormonal advantage over other athletes.
Women and men have been in segregated leagues for ages due to the physiological differences that give males an advantage. That is where the difference lies and why segregation is needed. Otherwise, why not just make all sports open to male and female? Women and males play in the same football, basketball, baseball/softboll, etc etc leagues and compete for positions on the same teams. Thats essentially what allowing trans males to play in womens sports is. Yes, the trans male does not identify as male but physiologically she (he) is male. I say this with the utmost respect.

I'm in agreement that it is unfair and society will need some time to figure it out. I would think that using antidoping rules to include any hormonal medication should equitably rule out such competitors but that is kind of like don't ask don't tell and excludes a small percent of the population... then again, we do that when we exclude normal people from the special olympics.
For the purpose of competing and sexual equality, replacing gender for those who have XY or XX chromosomes might be a good solution. Men and women with XY chromosomes would compete together and men and women with XX chromosomes would compete together.
As good an idea as I have heard.
Transgender people should have their own competitons where they compete against other TG people - keeps it fair for everyone. Isn't that why we have different gendered sports in the first place?
This has got to stop before it ruins womens sports.
Being transgender is fine, but dont try and pretend that being Male and on hormone therapy doesn't give you an advantage.
This will certainly throw a wrench in title nine.Why have female athletes when you can just bring in trannys,and win all the time!
