Tens unit for injuries

ad

Has anyone had any experience with “tens” electronic therapy?
Having a little problem with golfers elbow that’s becoming a real pain in the ass!
Had tennis elbow a few years ago and after 2-cortisone shots that did nothing, used heat and then ice to bring in blood flow.
That cured that and haven’t had a problem since, just looking for any advice.
Recently purchased a quality tens unit... we will see what this does, if anything.

Yeah i got one for torn forearm muscle that was causing elbow tendinitis. It didnt work

A.R.T. is where its at for fixing tendinitis, voodoo flossing helps

What is this a.r.t. and vodo you speak of?

Active Release Therapy
Voodoo Floss

Basically, tendonitis is caused by muscular/soft tissue adhesions that limit range of motion. That limited range, will cause the muscle to pull the tendon which is weaker, from the bone.
A.R.T. will release all soft tissue adhesions allowing full ROM which temoves the tension from the tendon and allows it to heal.
Voodoo floss helps maintain, doing similar.

Go see a properly accredited ART pracritioner. Accreditation is important. 1 visit should be enough in most cases. It will change your golf game forever ;-)

P.S. I don’t even play golf! Lol

Use one alot for muscle stiffness/soreness but never used it for tendon/ligament rehab. Would probably need to be real precise when trying to place it for tendon rehab. A physical therapist would be a good consult on that I think.

Used one for a sciatic nerve issue and it helped a ton! But I can't speak on join pain since mine was more of a muscle/nerve problem.

Yes, I have used a tens unit for years. I currently am having elbow problems. Along with using my tens unit I use a tennis ball to loosen up the muscle facia in my upper and lower arm. I think the tens unit increases blood flow to the tendons and seems to work really well.
