+ 1 Simple fix for pictures posting sideways

Hey guys!
Every now and then I notice that someone posted a gear picture or self shot that comes up sideways until you click on it. There is an easy fix to this that I recently figured out, but forgot to share with everyone else. I’m not sure why it happens, but I have found that if I take a picture, and then take a screenshot of the picture, the problem is solved when you post the screenshot picture. Not sure if it has to do with the size of the file being smaller, but it works every time. Just a heads up to anyone who has been frustrated by this glitch.

It would happen to me everytime because of my phone camera. I just crop some of top and bottom to make it landscape instead of portrait and walla it would appear upright. Picture must be wider than it is taller or it will adjust itself sideways
I've had this problem in the past when using an old phone when uploading an image to this site, it kept displaying sideways or upside down. Its due to EXIF data on the images which are things like Time, Date, Camera settings, Image Orientation, Location etc. When you upload the image through this site it strips it of that data so people cannot find out your location etc and it then gets displayed rotated. So basically you have to open it in an image editing programme and rotate it to the correct position, then save it again. Then reupload it to this site.
I just rotate the picture before uploading.
I use to do that, but the screw shots work perfectly
