+ 1 Shutdown struggles continue
ad
How had everyone been doing? We are back to rolling shutdowns here due to short staff for the most part. Very annoying not being able to get a routine going or start a cycle because stuff will close for a week then open for 3 days then close again. How are you guys holding up and what’s it like where you live?

All I can say is Walmart was closed do to no staffing. No one wants to work and no one is forcing them to work. Lose lose
At least States are not Britain where it was up until recently forbidden even to workout outside in parks or playgrounds. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this madness will end soon.
Brits aren't going to have any further restriction especially when our Government has been having multiples secretive parties during the harshest lockdown including a birthday bash for the PM. How can the Government push for any more restrictions when it has come to light they did not follow through themselves.
PropheticWookieEverything is very sad, sanctions, restrictions, a large outflow of people. The efficiency of work is falling, as there is no stability and confidence in the future. How to live and how to develop further is not clear. A lot of people are sick, and those who have been ill still cannot return to their previous level and rhythm. And it's not clear when it will end.
Yeah strange times. No shutdowns by me but the demographics at my gym changed a lot. Ton of high school and even middle school kids in afternoon and evening. Lot of the old timers are gone. It’s great to see the young kids getting into it though.
That pretty much describes the gym I go to. I had a 6 month layoff for shoulder surgery and came back and it was full of kids. I work out after work so late afternoon and evening. They have gotten larger over the years as general knowledge has increased involving training and nutrition. But for me there are just too many of them now. They don't seem to have much gym etiquette. sitting on machines for long periods of time looking at their phones. Taking up more than one machine or station at a time and taking their sweet time. Saw one of my gym buddies first day in who is really into training, about 42 but looks much younger, and I asked him how he had been. He says not good, I told the owner he is running a fucking daycare center. I need to go back on working nights to avoid this bullshit. I laughed because that was my first day back and I had never seen so many kids. My daughter who is in high school was with me and said about 1/3 of them were out from school and susposed to be quarantining. Unfortunately maybe a majority of them appear to not care about anything but themselves although some are respectful.
SwoljaboyI live in US. But the state I live in lives wild and free bro. It’s like Covid doesn’t even exist!!!! I just dealt with my gym shutting down due to not being able to afford rent due to “Covid” I loved that gym. I would be the ONLY one there at 6am. Now I’m in LA fitness I like it because there is more weight and way more variations. But even at 6am that place is jammed packed. No body wearing masks either lol. I look at it like a fish grows to his habitat. I was in a small tank. Stuck. Now I’m in the ocean and plateaus will be broken. And with all the women in there and other males my dominance needs to be asserted. So I feel like my workouts have been way more intense lol
RustyhookerOdd and strange times. Gyms open so i just push. Bust down the stress and try to stay positive.
PropheticWookieI think at this time, many have equipped halls at home or in garages. Even those who initially did not imagine it. And you're right, the best thing we can do in this situation is to think positively and believe in the best. It will be the same, I'm sure
