Relationship Advice
WARNING I've got low testosterone these days and I'm emotional as hell
I'm always going through some emotional crisis or another. I'm past caring how i look to people. I USE this place, to help me heal. I like to discuss things, I have to air things out. You guys have always given me such good advice in the past. So here we go with the problem de la journée - Marriage.
I've been in a relationship with my wife for 8 years, we've been married for 5. In the beginning she was madly in love with me, and I was aloof. When she got pregnant, and I felt like getting married was the right thing to do, but my heart just wasn't in it. I was not a good spouse by any stretch of the imagination. I pushed her away from me for at least 6 years. Our relationship ebbed between being great friends to just being roommates. I always loved her but much more like a great friend. I was never super attracted to her, she gained close to 100 lbs when she got pregnant and kept if for a long time. I hope some of you can relate to loving someone but not wanting to be romantically involved.
So fast forward to now. My heart is wide open and I'm not used to it. I'm madly in love with her. I feel like it's the beginning of a relationship where I can't wait to see her every day. My heart even starts to pound when she's around. She is looking so sexy, her outsides finally match her insides. She's got the body, job, and passion that I knew she could have. She is just shining so bright. And she's continuing to grow daily, it's great to watch. But the one thing she isn't passionate about is me. I pushed her away for so long she closed down.
I have always protected my heart. I got hurt a few times when I was growing up and I vowed to not let it happen again. But it's happening. I'm wanting to get close but I'm feeling her hesitation. It's almost like our roles have completely reversed. Now I sense she is the one that doesn't want to be married. Of coarse we talk about these things and I said "do you want to be married?" She will say something along the lines of "I'm not sure" or "I think so". She said she wishes she felt like she did in the beginning. I think she wants to be married because it's just so convenient for her. I pay the bills, clean the house, take great care of my son, and she gets to do what she wants. I feel like I hardly even see her.
So I'm at a total loss here. I need to have a loving passionate relationship. I've never felt this way before but I know this is something I want. But I don't know how to approach these things.
Do I just keep being this new person and hope she realizes I'm serious and she comes around. It's been about 4 months of this "new" me? Do I give it time, that seems to be what she's thinking? She said it's not just like a switch, because I happen to want it now. It's just so hard to feel like I'm being pushed away.
Do I step back and protect myself, we have a great friendship and a son together. This is a great foundation for most marriages. Just reset my new expectations?
She's not someone who likes to talk about stuff like I do. That's why I'm so lucky to have you people. Maybe we should go see a marriage counsellor? I haven't had much luck with this in the past, but it's a totally new era.
Do I find some new friends so I can get some of my emotional needs met through others? I never felt like I needed people before, but now it's clear that I do.
This is all so new to me and I have no clue how to approach this stuff. It was so easy when I was totally juiced out or high and didn't give a shit.
Thanks guys. I can't believe I even just posted that, I don't even recognize this person.

People do not respect weakness or clingyness or neediness....maybe its time you man up and leave a sutuaion where yr just not fuckin happy...if she really loves you and wants to be married to YOU you'll find out soon enough....obviously she is COMPLETELY removed...everything you say SCREAMS that to me...i respect her for being honest but id respect you more if you left and stopped talking about it and man'd up already.....you've begged, pleaded, grovelled, its humiliating and pathetic! no woman repsects a weak man sorry but its the truth especially a strong woman which yr wife appears to be. c'mon she books a hotel room and gets separate beds so she can get a good night's sleep??? wtf seriously you really need any more advice?? im a woman i can CLEARLY see the writing on the wall!!
BigBmajAll I can say is there is more than meets the eye. We have so much history together. I'm not begging her at all, I'm just trying to figure out if it's all worth it. We have a son together and these last 4 months are the only time I ever even wanted to be married. I have left before, and I've also had other relationships. But I want to see if I can make this work.
So thanks for your kind words but I have to see if this thing can work. I know I can meet someone else that is not even a concern or mine.
BigBmajEdit. No sense in being a dick.
time to find someone else bro, the longer you sit around with someone who isn't into you the more time you're wasting starting a new life with someone who is.
based off your pics, i would say you wouldnt have a problem in the dating department,
BigBmajI'm at a wedding right now and I have never gotten this much attention in my life. I must admit it feels great, and my wife is witness to it all. She just whispered in my ear that she can't wait to get back to the hotel and fuck the shit out of me. So it's not all lost yet bro.
There is a lot of great advice down below. I will just say simply that it is never a good idea to make emotional decisions when you are sick, depressed, under the influence of any substance such as drugs or alcohol (consequently being on cycle counts as well, especially tren. To often we forget that we are altering our frame of mind and our bodies and push or hurt people or make angry haste decisions we normally would not make. It takes a conscientious effort to remember that fact). That being said I think high E2 and low T can account for not being of sound mind and body. Not to neglect or diminish your issues, they are very real, but making any decision to press a move when your emotions are all over the board is not wise. I would try and get my hormones right and do not press her. In the mean time have faith it's not over yet.
Now to put a smile on your face watch this clip. Its funny but really drives home the point. To preface it, you need to know that the character Theo wants to borrow money from his father to higher a voodoo which doctor to put a spell on some guy making a play for his woman. This is his fathers response.

BigBmajI have to say I'm totally impressed with many of the people on this site. You guys seem to legitimately care and offer great mmiadvice.
I've paid some of the best therapists around up to $120 an hour for not even close to what I get from this place. No one seems too concerned about hurting my feelings and you call it as you see it.
As much as I may get irritated with eroids at times, this place has been a lifesaver lately.
I don't like to burden my friends or family with talking about MYSELF all the time. But you people can choose to ignore me and so I feel like I'm not burdening any of you.
So I just really wanted to say thanks. I needed the help I've gotten here lately. Now let me see if I do my part to help some of YOU. If anyone wants any advice about anything, getting ripped, diet, exercise, peptides, cycles (there are better people for this), anything. Please feel free to contact me I want to show how much I appreciate the help I've gotten.
Thanks and have a great weekend.
I read this earlier but I was driving so I have had a couple hours to sit on it. Your wife fell in love with the old you (for whatever reason.) I think you need to keep that in mind and try to balance the new you with that. As men we think coming on with bended knee will automatically melt their hearts, but I don't believe that is always true. We still need to be MEN! That is your wife! You are still the king of your castle, no?
I am not saying to go back to being a dick, but I think taking the lead and showing her your love from a different angle may be better than begging forgiveness with your tail between your legs.
That being said, you guys need alone time. But you need to take the lead on this. You seen what happens when you let her, you end up with separate beds. That is not conducive to reigniting the flame. If you can afford it brother I would highly recommend taking a trip to the Caribbean for a week, just you two. If that don't bring you guys together nothing will.
BigBmajI can't get over how cool it is that you actually took time out of your day to think about my life. You are a great guy.
Thanks bro, I had a lot more typed up but it got pretty long winded so I shortened it up.
BigBmajBoy do I do that often. The original post was like three pages longer and it went way deep into history and into my sex life, I thought who wants to read this crap. I felt it was long winded as it was.
I'm at a wedding it's nice to have this place so I don't have to talk to these crazy fuckers here. If I drank it would be more fun.
Since I started my first cycle last March I have all but quit drinking myself. I have never been a heavy drinker per se anyway, but cutting fat and AAS doesn't go with alcohol. I figure I don't spend all these hours every week in the gym only to throw it away in one night...
Hey man, I was in almost the exact same situation as you. My wife and I have been married for almost 8 yrs and I've been mentally absent for most of that time. I have always loved her but I think I let the daily drag of life get in the way. Several months back I was away on assignment and some shitty stuff happened. Bottom line...I almost didn't make it home. It shocked the shit out of me and made me realize everything I had been taking for granted. I also realized my wife meant way more to me then I realized.
When I got home, I sat my wife down and laid it all out. I told her that I realized I had neglected her, not always been there for her, etc. Then I told her that version of me was gone and that I would I spend the rest of my life showing her what she meant to me. That's a very shortened version of what went down but the point is we are at the best spot we have ever been in. My wife had gotten to a point like yours. She had given up on me and I think the only reason she hadn't left was the kids. At first I was a little overwhelming but I quickly backed off.
Open up to her and treat her like you did when you won her over. She will come around and you might have to deal with some hurt in the process but I guarantee you've made her feel the same way.
Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss further. Good luck man.
BigBmajHey at least you caught it before it was too late. I'm happy to hear that you've made lots of progress with your marriage. Nothing beats going to bed happy at night knowing you have a solid woman who's got your back.
FR sent.
Go to marriage counseling. Your job will be to listen.
Trying too hard or pushing too much may actually make her retreat more. Something happened early on that you, her, or both do not want to bring up. A counselor will give you the forum where you can express what is not being said without fear. The counselor can help you articulate things that are not quite clear even to yourself.
Based on your description she knows you did not marry for love and doubts that you ever loved her -or needed her. Even now. She might be asking herself, "So what's changed? most likely nothing, and it's all about sex."
Put yourself in her shoes. About to give birth to a child and getting married to a man who doesn't love you. like you loved him. How lonely can that be?
I would open up to her and let her know how you felt, sincerely apologize for your actions and how it must have made her feel. Let her know why you feel the way you do now. explain why you need her in your life. This is the hardest part because we are taught as male adults we should be self sufficient. You need to be vulnerable here. You WILL be vulnerable.
BigBmajYou made me sad thinking about her being pregnant, getting heavy and knowing I didn't love her. She often brings this up, she felt so alone. And I even left her for awhile before we got married, I wanted to get a few things out of my system. I know I was a dick. I'm not naive enough to think this problem is anyone's fault but mine. I'm sure she would love to have to tell her I felt bad about that. And you are correct - if I went to a counsellor id need to learn to listen and keep quiet. You made a good call on that one brother.
If read lots of your posts on this site and you seem like a very down to earth genuine person. I really respect your opinion. Even when we disagreed in the past about the plight of human kind.
Thanks bro.
I'm with cheat nature on this one.. Time to bring out the big guns!! Don't sit around apologizing.. When you take her out on all of these dates keep in the mindset you are doing this like you would with someone you just fell in love with.. not someone you're trying to make 6 years up to.. that'll just keep bring up negative memories and make it more difficult for both of you to open up.
As for worrying about her hurting you.. Why? WHYYYYYY? WHY SHOULD YOU BE WORRIED?? If she's going to hurt you shes going to hurt you and whether or not you open up to her it will not lessen the damage that could happen.. But ya know what I'd sure as fuck rather be able to sit down at the end of the day and know I tried rather than regret not trying at all out of fear.. Trust me it is better to open up and try.. your a intelligent guy and If you want to make this happen it will happen.. plus you say your emotional right now so I'd imagine you can get pretty damn creative so use it to your advantage =D
Just my 2 cents
BigBmajYou've always got good stuff to say. Thanks taking the time to help me on PM as well. It's appreciated
Amen! Couldn't have said it better myself! Begging and apologizing will push her further away. Women can not have there minds changed directly (begging, apologizing) but indirectly (being man that she wants).
BigBmajI've been bringing out the big guns. I got a hotel room for this weekend and I was so excited to spend some time together. But she got the room with two double beds. Haha. She said she wanted to make sure she slept well.
Now I could have been myself and laugh about it and push her on the bed, but I had my feelings hurt. I needed to hear what you guys had to say. I'm too serious these days.
Of course that'd hurt your feelings you love her and the point wasn't just to fuck her brains out but to have some romance too I'd imagine considering you can't exactly do this at home with a kid LOL
Look at it this way you have absolutely no idea what will happen this weekend.. she will prlly end up in your bed any ways.. and if not you can always jump in her bed and tickle her or some bullshit to make her laugh.. pretty much guaranteed excuse to cuddle and fall asleep in the same bed.. either way she's gonna open up more to you.. Just be the man and lead the way
Take her to the hotel room drop some X....The fuck like rabbits and watch porn all night and really get into her head about what's going on...................
Because that would make her take him more seriously..........................................................................
Yes! From this post I take that this guy has some what of an addiction/adonis complexion. He married very fast and his wife is showing signs of departure. So let's talk in terms of steroids! Maybe you will relate. You are taking test and deca but at the end of the day you feel you need winstrol and t/3t/4 to cut you up now that you are big and bloated. Dr. Phil himself would have a field day. Is there really anyone on this site that can give him and his girl the "CORRECT" answer? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Listen you pushed her away for 6 years dont expect her back in 6months, you have to win her trust bro. Buying her stuff is ok, but you have to show her with ACTIONS and behavior. True love is whatever it takes, if it takes you to move a mountain, you better be willing to move two. She wants the relationship the way it was in the beginning, do the same things to sweep her off her feet. As guys do everything to get the ladys, its keeping them that is a challenge. Do little sweet things like writing letters, you know the stuff you did before. I have two ideas for you, have a pizza delivered to her job with the pepperoni in shape of a heart( if she wont eat pizza, use something else). Or have flowers delivered send 23 red and one white, with a card saying out of many you are that special one. Little cute things like that is what woman love...I cant tell you the rest or I will have to charge u! Good luck my friend!
BigBmajMy problems do seem to revoke around patience.
You're a wise lad. Now don't let yourself get in this situation with your lovely wife.
Wow thanks for opening up like this I can relate in a lot of areas let me tell you a a couple things though do not worry about getting hurt she is your wife and she comes first no matter what and do not change how you have become but just keep loving her and laying ur life down for her .. counseling is not a bad idea at all but talk to her about it and i dont know if you guys believe in God but if u do go to church together gget connected and a counselor that believes also is good because u guys made a promise to eachother in front of God. . Pm me if youd like to talk at all im here for ya
BigBmajThanks. I really do like the fact that I can open up here and get such excellent advice. I'm starting to think that I'm learning more about growing psychologically than I am about the physical stuff.
I'm not religious but we are both growing spiritually and I think I just need to have some faith in the process.
Im not religious either but I do believe and all and if u both do it makes things even better but yah u gotta start somewhere that's awesome! And yah crazy we talk about shit like this in here but its cool..
I was with my ex for 6 1/2 yrs. I left her 3 months ago because I felt I was not in love with her. I left her because she didn't treat me like the man I know I am. Well fast forward 3 months. She is the one I want to grow old with no doubt! But I pushed her away by leaving her. She is now undecided and setting me aside. So what I'm doing is taking the approach of what she is looking for....the man of her dreams. Forget your past it's done. Forget the the future it will come. Think about now! She wants excitement and something new but not a insecure man that now realizes he was wrong. Act like you just met. How would you try to win a women's affection then? Random flirting, nice gestures, dates full of excitement and once you have gained her attention again show her that your the man that she needs in her life. Plain and not simple lol. You have to take a psychological approach and stop thinking with your emotions. Think with your brain. That's how you have achieved everything else in your life and have succeeded.
BigBmajWise words man. You are right it's the fun me that she fell in love with. As I said I haven't felt this way before so, yes there is a little insecurity in here, lots. And it shows. I guess I was just concerned I was going to waste my time. This is not who I am. I can acknowledge it and move forward. I needed to hear that.
There u go brother! That's the man she will like! Women want men they can respect. The way you gain that respect is by showing your independence but at the same time making them excited and comfortable! When you show insecurity it causes them to feel nervous or obligated and male nor female humans like that. So get in the mindset that hey I'm an independent man and I'm going to live this life like it's my one and only and that there is room for a soulmate on that journey!
BigBmajYou guys are great. I was embarrassed to post this for fear of sounding like such a putz.
If you don't have the same life goals you are ultimately going to travel in different directions......
BigBmajNice. And that's all I want to know is "do we want the same thing?"
Damn.... That shit was deep! I'm gonna have to put my name on that quote.... Lol heard it here first!
you need to sit down with her and lay everything out on the table...from both sides, how she felt, how you felt, how you feel now and how she feels now. you wont be able to successfully move on until youve worked it out. covering up the past and moving on is just a short term solution...it will come back to bite you. if you arent able to do this successfully together then try a counselor. Buying her things is nice but just being involved with her life will open her back up to you faster than anything. Talk to her, check in/call often to see what she is doing. follow up is key too...if she has an issue with someone or something(not necessarily you) remember to check back in and see if she was able to resolve it or how she is doing with it. To guys, we could care less if someone checks back in...issue is handled and we are done with it. but to women, it seems to mean the world...its like an epiphany for them, "wow he actually was paying attention to me and he actually does care about the situation). Ive done all of these things to save the relationship with my wife and it has worked quite well...and I was way worse than you. I partied my brains out, up for days at a time, didnt do shit for her, didnt do shit around the house, didnt talk to her barely at all, most of the time incoherent and we were able to move on. hope it works out for you
BigBmajWell... Don't think I was much better. I was the party all week lazy piece of shit husband for awhile. I haven't been that way for some time but she got to see that for a couple years. I'm sure glad I'm not there any more. What a despicable existence.
First you have to take the mind set if I lose her then I earned with my actions and I can't compel it to be different. Once you have that in the back of your mind you can go to her and say you basically because of my own fault and selfishness I have earned your lack of respect it is completely my fault and I am ashamed that I didn't be the man I should have been not just for you but for myself. It is my work to earn it back if you still even want to be together, if not I understand and wish you well.
The truth is you can't swing the other way to make up for it. Like ass kissing her, never pointing out where she is wrong when she is, and being afraid that if you take charge of the relationship that you will lose her. Because no women with any self worth will respect that. Sure she may go along with it for a while because it is the opposite of you being an ass by she will then loath you for a different reason.
You already have a huge advantage over many because you own fully your shit and don't blame others for it when it is you. But in order for this relationship to have a fighting chance it needs you not to be walking on egg shells about fucking up again. You can promise her not that you will never fuck up but that you will be the first to own it and not put it on her.
I love my wife I provide in every way for her. I do not use her in way she was never meant to be used such as carrying my burdens. I also will never ever let her manipulate or control me because then I would hate her. I will take full credit or blame for the direction that I lead my household but it is their free choice whether to follow it or not. A man can never ever fear losing what he loves for one simple reason his biased will taint his decision making in doing what is good and right for all. My wife has often be mad at me for me not agreeing with her and giving in to her. She is a very educated and intelligent non push over woman. The when the matter closes and she sees that I did not do it for selfish reasons and if I would have done it her way on certain occasions it would have been a disaster that is when I earn her respect and admiration.
Make her feel like she is the most attractive woman in the world to you. Buy her flowers, set up date nights and catch a dinner and a movie. When you have kids a relationship can get ho hum so you need to put a spark in it. I went through the same thing about 10yrs back and we worked on it. Now our marriage is outta this world.
BigBmajThat's great news, I like happy endings.
I just want to know from her that it's worth working on. But I suppose I can't worry about the outcome, just try and see what happens.
Thanks.
Exactly go in this with all of you dont worry about outcome
would have been good to post this in ladies lounge then could get some major insight here, id pm some of them to check out this post or maybe their husbands if you only have their fr's
how old is she?
but girls are weird creatures, the new you may not be just enough, try REALLY showing her your feelings.
Flowers chocolates teddy bears stuff like that, after 8 years you prop know what she likes and gets her going be nice to her tell her she is beautiful
if you are up for it tell her "I love you so much id do anything for you and the relationship" maybe couple counseling is a good idea, she will be able to let go of some one the things she is holding on to if she is saying things like
"She will say something along the lines of "I'm not sure" or "I think so". "
I feel you bro im only 23 but have had the same feelings of shutting down, and one month loving and thinking how sexy my girl is and other months wanting to fuck anything ELSE with a pulse, but that's just my own shit and not hers which isn't fair, I have learned to not pay attention to those thoughts lol
BigBmajI think you will always have those temptations. I'm starting to think that a great relationship is worth working for in the end.
Thanks bro.
