protein shake

ad

I am 220 pounds and I was taking 2 scoops of my protein every shake which is 48g. A buddy told me I was wasting it cause your body can only take in 34g at a time is this true.

I always made sure I put 34g of protein worth of baby formula in the bottle before I fed my son, I didn't want to waist it. For some reason my wife's boob only produced 34g of protein in the breast milk every feeding, because nature knows a human body can only take that much every time. I bet Jay Cutler drinks 34g of protein in every shake.lol

Your body absorbs everything you put in it.. there is no number.
My protein shakes are over 150 grams.. and i know i absorb every single
bit of it.

This has been debated for years. Its kinda like "supply & demand". Your body will absorb/ingest as much as you can eat. If didn't and your body was at its dly max and then you eat a 16oz steak, you would crap whole pieces of meat. This never happens because you absorb/ingest everything you eat. Now if you are a lazy ass that sits on the couch playing Xbox all day your demand for protein is nil so your body will store it as fat. On the other hand if your hitting the gym 4-8 hours a day. Your demand for protein to build muscle is high so as fast as its absorbing its being put to use. This is also why there is no such thing as overtraining only under eating. How much protein can your body use? How dedicated are you?
