+ 1 Prices at the pump!
ad
Is there anyone else out there sick and tired of these
ridiculous fuel prices at the pump? Gasoline here in Knoxville, Tennessee is hovering around $3.35 a gallon
while Diesel is still around $4.25 a gallon!
It's bad enough that the inflation is around 10% this year
with grocery prices through the roof as well.
Good thing Biden shut down the Keystone pipeline first
day in office along with canceling permits to drill for
Oil offshore and on US soil. Now we're begging opec
To produce more oil while under Trump we were selling
Oil and Natural gas to foreign countries.
Enough is enough and the American people are suffering
because of it!!!

I cannot remember the last time Ive seen 3.35 a gallon. Last time I filled up it was $6.20 for 91 and the price has been going up every day. Probably can guess which shit state.
Driving back from a concert The other night and prices dropped 50 cents when we crossed back into out state from Pa.
Maybe off topic or not but i can spend 800 to 1,000 a month depinding how cold it outside and keeping my (oilheat) at 64 degrees yes walking around with long sleeves in the house and cuddling with the dogs
Haha i keep mine 66°. Wife hates it but we save all winter. 74-76° degrees is ridiculous. I hear thats what some people like
After seeing what you guys are allowed to keep your heat temperature at. I'm putting my foot down with the wife this year. No more 72-74. I'm going to shoot for 66, hopefully agree on 68
Nah no low 60's for me. More like what you said...68 maybe 70. Lol I shouldn't be putting on layers on cloth in order to be comfortable when just sitting around the house. Now severe winter is a little different
Well last couple years been $4.45-$5.25/ gallon thats why lol. In a 275 gallon tank thats brutal for a family of 5 that dont qualify for help lol
Its not that bad. Sweater during day, bathrobe or long pajamas at night. I actually turn down to 60° at bedtime and heavy blankets. You will fill your oil tank maybe 2 times less through the heating months
I did that routine once.
I try to wait aslong as possible to turn the heat on in the winter but i also have hot water baseboard heat But never had the pipes freeze yet and i have wrapped every single one myself
Yeah but you tend to forget to wrap up your main pip though...womanizer lol.
You know we inside joke.
Same here, forced hot water heat so i have to make sure during sub zero weather i dont turn to 60 at night. It definitely is a constant staying on top to save money. Ridiculous, heating oil and gas should just be cheap lol
I tell her if she wants heat its called body heat and lets spoon.
I have to use 93 oct in illinois. $4.59
I had to sell my mini cooper s gasoline car which consumes 10 liters per 100 kilometers at two euros per liter.. I got transferred to get closer to work + electric bike
Plus it’s in our faces every day because of the big neon signs. Premium around me is pushing $5 and my car gets 8mpg if I’m careful (usually not) and wife’s is barely 10mpg.
As I suspected the crazy, misguided and completely ignorant to how big oil and gas really operate abound in here. The refiners are who control the price at the pump. They are who to blame more than any of the other factors. They don’t even pretend to care what the price of a barrel of oil is anymore
Exactly. And when they can control output at any moment, they can artificially set prices at any point they wish. They'll"manufacture" a reason to decrease refining capacity or output which increases prices. My question, who no new refineries in the last 20-30 years? I think what I read was 1977 was the latest one. I realize one came aboard in the last year or so but with very little downstream output capacity. To think Big Oil would ever let a president, a person whom is elected every 4 years, to control that much $$ is laughable. They would never give up that control
https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=29&t=6#:~:text=The%20newest%20....
The latest reason was not the price of a barrel of oil but instead was they “predicted” a severe hurricane season….
One bit of good news is they have started construction on our first new refinery in like 30 years in Oklahoma. It is supposed to be very highly tech and be able to produce like 250k gallons per day
And what's crazy.... these guys, conglomerates, are multi billionaires that no one knows about and couldn't pick them out of a line up and they impact our daily lives way more than any politician. Here's what always confused me. A hurricane hits and that gas that's already in the tank somehow goes up 20-30% overnight yet takes months to deflate? Most of what they are finding with this inflation is actually greedflation.
I like Peter Zeihan but I'll have to check out Mr. Global
Pale! Nice to see you here again.
Thanks Bill. I try to check in every couple weeks. I’m hoping this winter to spend a little more time here
It's the futures market that dictates price. Federal and state taxes are the bulk of the price.
If the refiners are getting gas from overseas, and demand for oil is high but supply is low, Why the hell would we stop domestic production? Why would the government drain our strategic oil reserves, selling overseas, which will take decades to refill.
With everything running on oil, from manufacturing to shipping, why limit supply more? Prices go up. Just dropping the price of oil will be half the Feds battle to reduce inflation. (The why not of it is a whole different discussion).
The government has an overly ambitious goal to go electric. In the 70's OPEC's high oil prices made diesel more attractive, now diesel is more expensive than gas. Now, once again fuel prices are making electric more attractive. Here's the rub. There is a shit ton of money the state and feds are going to lose when taxes at the pump diminish. Your electric car will be tagged. GPS will track every mile you drive, and you will be taxed per mile as a usage tax. Heck, if you drive into another state, they could have a different tax rate for out of state drivers as well. How much do you want to bet, that you'll not only be better monitored by government and business because of this, but you'll also be paying the equivalent of $10 per gallon; smile, and think, "what a bargain".
Oh shit, just opened the mail, California just billed me $200 for my resent trip to San Diego.
First of all we have not stopped domestic production. In fact we are at or near record production of both oil and gas. We are in fact exporting half of our refined gas which begs the question why? The answer is they are businesses free to take advantage of the market.
There is no limit on supply Greg other than every well that is pumping at capacity and our rig count dropped after a previous president crashed the market. That count has steadily gone up. I know you are really hung up on Joe Biden for some reason but look up actual oil and gas output bro. What he says and what he has actually done are two very different things when it comes to oil.
As far as electric. Ignore the insane talk of the end of fossil fuels or electric mandates. They just aren’t even possible in the time frames they push. But getting to a reasonable goal of say 10% electric would actually make us truly energy independent. We would have no need to import oil.
I recommend everyone check out Mr Global on YouTube or tik tok. The dude is a wealth of oil knowledge and plays it down the middle. I know I have learned a ton from him. Btw backed up with actual facts and a lifetime of working the oil fields
One quick google search belies your claim. From 2016 until 2020 crude oil production went through the roof. After 2020 it fell off a cliff. https://www.macrotrends.net/2562/us-crude-oil-production-historical-chart
A major problem is instead of drilling more crude, the government started to sell our Strategic oil reserves up. It took decades to fill the reserves. We're up shits creek if we go to war or the supply chains are compromised (wars abroad). https://ycharts.com/indicators/us_ending_stocks_of_crude_oil_in_the_stra...
The optics and policies of the lefts green agenda made it politically impossible to ramp up production. Instead, they risk a bigger disaster if something should happen. Our current reserves are smaller than Japan's. We had the largest reserve which could fill our needs for 5 years.
Again, the futures market sets the price. Just declaring increased drilling would have dropped gas prices even before anything was in the pipeline.
I agree you can have huge oil production output but not all oil is the same. Some places that have oil reserves are dirty, harder to refine and will never hit the "car" market. They'll go to another sector. When talking about price at the pump, it's a select type of oil that very few places have the ability to refine. The US is very lucky that we can take the dirtiest oil and refine it here and then ship it to the open market, or keep it. Most places, maybe only 1 or 2 countries have that capability
There was a huge drop in 2020, which was predicated by two things. The pandemic and Saudi's granting a wish of a certain president and cranking up production which between the two had oil nearly worthless. That caused US producers to shut down wells and stop drilling new ones. That is not the case now. Here is the rest of the graph.

This man has some very real insight on geopolitics and is world renowned, gives speeches in the oil, gas, manufacturing sector , and overall is very entertaining and informative. You can go to the 5:13 mark for his specific oil remarks and strategy

I highly recommend Mr Global

March 2020. Oil was around $30. Should’ve filled it then.
It was full.
I’m stepping way outside of my wheelhouse here, but I’m sure there’s members here that can clear this up. I remember a point where oil was dead. It was zero. They were basically begging people to invest into the futures. This was roughly 4-5 years ago. I’m sure there was trader commissions, etc. but I do remember oil being at zero. Why didn’t we buy into the futures?
LiftingsinceababyThem libtards love joe Biden!
Hey as long as our kids are getting castrated and learning about genders and sex in school and lgbtq+ community getting preferential treatment along with the blm movement who cares what happens to our economy right!?
Who wants Donald trump as a president he talks about grabbing puss.
Cool story fuck face. I am no liberal nor am I a republican. I am an American. On top of that I am life long capitalist. Greg knows me better than most and can attest to that. Now kindly take trumps balls out of your mouth
I remember you. But yea that poor guy definitely had a mouth full for sure. Nowadays I guess folks think it's impossible to not be liberal nor a Republican. O well lol.
LiberaltearsStfu you photoshopped liberal let’s see a self shot of you and your life partner pale. What’s y’alls proffered pronouns don’t wanna make y’all cry?
Both of y’all running gear for a countless number of years and no one could even tell even y’all say it when you look in the mirror..
You both are big mad bc Biden is failing y’all and y’all are both fat Slobs.
I’m probably paying for both you idiots to sit on y’all’s mommy’s couch collecting disability.
Tone down the rhetoric, you can disagree without being disagreeable.
Pale's a straight up honorable guy, who'd have your back if you were in need. He's buff as hell and his old lady can knock you into next week. At least he's man enough to use his own account to voice his opinion and not 5 accounts like your chicken shit ass. He's also one hard working mother fucker who's built something and feeds many.
Yougoodbro69Sorry for the hate speech I do apologize if I offended you by not addressing y’all as partners. I was wondering when his”girl” being you would come to his rescue that was so adorable!
Let’s see self shots of both of y’all until then it’s all fabricated y’all’s definition of buff is probably a lot different than mine.
Thanks bro, he had troll smell all over him.
Lol
LiftingsinceababySounds like something a libtard says especially regarding balls in the mouth. Not gay bubba sorry.
First of all, Biden doesn’t even know where he is let alone mentally fit enough to manipulate fuel cost and productivity. Clinton’s and Obama’s are running the show from behind the scenes and making billions tanking the country and strengthening the opposition.
4$ where I’m at
2 euro per liter ffs!!
$9.50 per gallon!!!
But with a minimum wage of 750 euro, we are again first lmaooo!!
Damn brother!!
HAHAHA This is Absolutely Nothing!!! You Guy's don't know how good you have it
Here its relatively CHEAP atm in the UK
£1.55 per litre of Unleaded - Which means $8.70 per Gallon converted to US Dollar terms
Yup, and that’s what the Revolutionary War was about. Your government makes our government look good. Although, our President is a F’king joke, but knows how to scam the taxpayers very well.
Biden needs to go, no doubt...but hell he's definitely not the only one that needs to go! I'd say pack all the Dems And Repubs up and ship them out with Biden. Lol it will be the blind leading the blind for sure. Folks don't think for themselves, they would rather someone think for them lol. Too lazy.
