Planet Fitness

ad

So I was in Planet Fitness the other day with my girlfriend, she works out there and wanted me to check it out. I assured her I had my reasons for avoiding the place , none the less she persisted, I caved. I remembered the old commercials saying no bro's allowed basically, and they had signs hanging up that said no tank tops , no grunting, no gallon water jugs, and no slamming of weights. I was amused by all of this, and continued on to get in my normal work out, it was my chest/tri day.

To my shock there was no free weight flat bench, incline bench, or decline bench. No Olympic 45lb bars, the dumb bells stopped at 75lbs, and no 35lb plates. Everyone was hitting chest on assisted racks, the cables stopped at 95lbs and there was no free weight preacher curl which shocked me most of all. The kettle bells stopped at 35lbs, most of the machines had unusually low weight maxes. I was spinning in circles looking at all of the effort and detail they went through to keep people like me and others I know out of here.

I started to modify my workout , and stay just to spite them. But I kissed my girlfriend on the cheek and simply walked out .

Curious to see if you guys have a story on planet fitness or if you actually go to one.

There missing some equipment and the dumbbells are light but honestly you can get a good workout anywhere. Intensity dictates that imo not the gym.

Indeed you could get a good workout, but it would take some real improvisation and modification to get it done.

I just assume find a real gym, then again I understand the price of planet fitness is very attractive

this is true , but a low self esteem comes with an average build and those chicks seek gratification through an eagerness to please a man, and I am not above capitalizing on this fact.

Did they have a "no bodybuilders allowed" sign at the entrance, too? Sounds like they had....

I travel for work one week a month so I do have a pass. For the $20 a month I know I can hit a gym regardless where I am. Could NOT go there anymore than that though. 75lb dumbbells is as high as they go lol

Planet Fattness is literally the worst chain gym in existence.

I am surprised they even had that much equipment and I am very sure the 75lb dumbells were covered in dust as well. However if it were Monday how would you find it under the mountain of pizza boxes?

Never heard of such a place, why in god's name

I go to one. Bought my own rack for my garage to bench and squat with.. besides that has most of what I need. Only thing that really bothers me is most of the time I’m the only one who speaks Fkn English there.......

Be grateful they don’t speak English. Your gym bill would be 100$ a month and they’d all be unionized and some kind of stock options and 401ks. How else you think they charge 10$ a month. It’s cuz they pay the workers 3.50$ an hour with zero bennys

Show off. Hire an english speaking mechanic then. I hate rich people problems...

The rack came with 450lbs and was 650$ total used. Do all my car repairs cause I can and don’t have the money anyway. I’m not rich at all barely get by taking care of two kids cause their gangsta cool daddy won’t. I’m not even close to a show off but thanks for chiming in and being dickish bruh. Hope you had a great Xmas!

Calm the fuck down Delbert.

Outside of the first 4 words, you talk about your home gym in the garage. Then proceed to exclaim, "I’m the only one who speaks Fkn English there... (in the garage)

So I make a light hearted, snarky comment making you sound rich, complaining about a personal, non-english speaking, mechanic. Do you seriously think that I believe that is the case?

I guess I should have just called you out for your poor sentence structure, grammar, and inability to tell a story... Upside in this, I can sure empathize with you having to deal with morons who can't speak fkn english.

So, I'll toss it back to you. Thanks for chiming in and being dickish Bro. Hope you had a great Christmas and have a great new year!

Its not funny anymore after you have to explain the joke.

I love English only speaking folks. Especially when I’m out with friends and family and we get to talk all kinds of shit about people and they never know. That was until I started to ask questions of my other bilingual friends. Yes it’s true everyone who is speaking a different language that we can’t understand is absolutely talking shit about us. I tested this theory out with some Ukrainian ladies at work and sure as shit they do it too. So then I asked my afghan buddy and he said he’s been calling me a fag (Kuni) to my face for the last ten years and I thought it was a nickname this whole time. Goddamn i thought my folks were the only ones:)
Moral of the story is next time someone isn’t speaking english around you they have absolutely called you some kind of homophonic name and called the women you’re with godless whores. Gospel brudda:)

Always. And most of the time it isn't even really mean spirited, they are just having a laugh.

I agree my afghan buddy is like family. Anytime anywhere we’d both be there to dig a hole if we needed it.

I went there for a few months way back, I would wear a tank top and set "lunk alarm" off all the time.. For me it was mostly a place to tan and get a chair massage, not much of a gym.. Some decent tail though haha

I had a buddy talk me into going one time. I mean once! It was a social gathering. Everyone was on there phones. My friend included. I never went back. I realized why I workout at home.

I hate that place so much.
Any time fitness is horrible too.

I go to one. Actually like it. I've always went to Gold's Gym. The Planet Fitness I go to is in a small country town so it's always pretty much empty. Gives me free roam of the gym. There are still plenty of machines and weights to do everything you would need you just have to get creative with some stuff. Plus they have a ton of tanning beds that are never being used, massage chairs that are never being used, and a hydro massage machine it's never being used. The only people that actually go to this one or all college girls from the local campus. I actually enjoy it. And I was always against Planet Fitness. Little do I know

That i could understand.. where I am is too densely populated for that place to ever be empty..

Hell yea if it was empty like that, you could have a nice workout. The one I went to was packed bro, the tanning and prices of the place are unbeatable with out a doubt.
