Over the past two weeks I've been trying to make a purchase from some of our most reputable sources. To say this has been difficult would be a vast understatement. I'm still waiting for e-mail replies from three different suppliers, and getting no love.
I'm not mad (a little frustrated, but not mad), but it seems like this month every one of the top suppliers has been hit by big orders, health problems, or just having a bad week service wise. I guess the saying "When it rains, it pores." is completely accurate.

I couldn't agree more. It sux when Srcs get big too fast cuz it really takes a big team of individuals to make a Brand. Some of the Srcs I love using are just too busy or low on stock. The longer you've been a member the more you start looking to find new promising sources. Honestly new up n coming srcs go out of their way to make clients happy and since the operation is smaller they have an easier time keeping things flowing smoothly. Only problem with new untested srcs is there are no blood tests to prove the gear is gtg.
CleyonAbsolutely, it's a gamble. I'm just starting to understand (from the comments below, and a couple of PMs I've recieved) that there are "steroid seasons". It makes complete sense, I'd just never though about it before. Also, I haven't been involved in the scene long enough to know about that.
Being a source is running a business, and like all businesses, the best ones will figure out how to expand quickly. Those will be the big dogs in the future.

CleyonAre we talking about suppliers or businesses in general? LOL, I know it's both. A great chef isn't necessarily a great restauranter. The smartest people in the world are not those that know how to do everything, but the people who know their own limits and seek other people out to help them in the areas they are deficient in.
The fall bulkers are just starting. The mad rush will hit when beach time is over. Then the boards will be full of the newbs bitching. Lol! Be patient bro...it'll happen.

zewiive thought about it.. But i would choose who to supply too. You would have to fill out a forum, have a good karma rating before even being considered.
