+ 1 Nicotine Addiciton

ad

First off I want to say thank you to eriods and all the eroiders out there that make this place great. I realize more and more everyday how invaluable of a resource the information on this site is.

Ok so I was just wondering if there are any other bros out there that struggle with nicotine addiction. At this point I feel like this is the main thing that is really holding me back with my training. I've either smoked or dipped for the last 5 years or so and I'm at a point where this habit has to be kicked but I just can't seem to do it.

I know nicotine does awful things to BP and this really is the main reason why I've got to kick this. While I'm on cycle this causes my BP to be totally unmanageable, so I've made a deal with my self that I have to be nicotine free for an entire month (and stay that way) before I can start my next cycle.

So have any bros going through something similar or have any tips? I'm on day 3 right now and it feels like it's only getting harder. The hardest part for me is being able to function at work, I feel totally f'ing brain dead without my morning dose of nicotine.

I've been using those 'ecigs', I expect you've had them for years in the US though!, but they are almost like smoking, but w/o all the chems etc. It does wean you off the 'fags', as we call cigarettes in the UK!

actually I got hypnotised for 500 bucks , shit was cool , havent touched them in 2 months , never craved a cig after the first app. I have tried for a lot of years to quit , smoked for 21 yrs and this was so easy I cant believe I havent tried it sooner, heard of it just didnt believe it . For me it was easy , give it a try

i quit cold turkey, it sucked but i like to think that nothing has control over me so thats what drove me to freedom. when you get a couple of months under your belt post quitting it gets easier. dont let that nicotine boss you around and tell you whats going to happen.

Bro, if you can afford, try CHANTIX or CHAMPIX (Varenicline). It's magic.
I was a heavy smoker for almost 15 years and tried patches, gums, electro-shock :-))
I'm now 11 month smoke-free. And the best part is, those pills have not nicotin in it. The Varenicline kills your desire for nicotin. It's not a substitute.
Good luck.

I totally agree, but unfortunately with my personality I've just never had any luck kicking a habit any other way than cold-turkey.

Good to know the gum is worthless though.

Thanks for all the help/support! I was thinking about getting patches or the gum but fuck it, I want to start this cycle in June so the only way to be nicotine free for a month is to go cold turkey. This sucks

That sounds like it could turn into some weird bodybuilding remake of Office Space.

I dip bro, and I have for years. I quit for a couple years straight one time, and the only thing that helped me through it was my training and really focusing on what my expected outcome was. Take extra time making your meals, and make them a little tastier, that way, hopefully you will just be anticipating your next meal instead of thinking about the nicotine. I don't know if this helps, but honestly, GOODLUCK BROTHER.
