Need a mechanics advice

So, I drive through some high water that had rissen do to a hell of a lot of rain..car is small and water was about mid tire level..other cars went through fine but if course mine did not....the car stalled and died right then and there...been reading what to do, man there's just so much mixed info on what it could be...I was going very slow when I got the water...less than 10mph..I heard training the oil and changing spark plugs might do it..I drained the oil and water DID come out with the oil..just not sure what to do fellas..any help would be greatly appreciated...if you'll come to my house and fix it I'll give you 2 karma points...seriously, though..I really need help.

TronThank everybody for your help...one thing I've learned throughout the years is eroids is much more than a site for aas...once you get involved in the community we all really try to help each other..we're kind of like a huge secret society...the longer you're here and the more active you are the mi re the community grows on you and even though you don't get to actually be around that person face to face a companionship grows and you become close friends..it's weird but true...thanks family.
If it wont turn over. Pull the air filter and check for signs of water. Pull the plugs. Spin the engine over to blow the water out. Hit the cylinders with some lubricant (WD-40 etc) and spin it over a few more times.Check the oil for signs of water (milky color) change as necessary. Throw the plugs back in and fire it up. Water might have knocked the plugs out so it still might not fire or misfire. Change the plugs either way.
And stop driving though water or at least buy a truck
Pull the plugs and crank the engine. Then change the plug and packs. Id change the air filter too.
I would file an insurance claim. Chances are you're going to need a lot of work.
I'll expand on this so it makes sense. If there is water in your cyclinders, it can't be compressed like air is. By pulling the plugs you provide the water an exit path. When you turn the car over with the plugs removed, the water will shoot out. You do this until no water comes out. I would then let the car air out with the plugs removed overnight. Some may say that's a bad idea due to contaminants, but you just hydro locked your engine so really no big deal. Inspect your air filter and ducting to make sure it isn't full of water. You don't want to hydro lock it again. The air filter is most likely toast also. So good idea to replace it.

I would just disagree on leaving the plugs out. The wet surfaces inside the cylinders will rust if exposed to the air and you dont want any dirt or grime falling in there. Best thing to do is get the water out and get it fired up so that the fuel lubricates the cylinders. When the engine heats up, it will help dry things out.

Does the car turnover as you crank it ?or is it completely not doing anything ?
TronNo, it doesn't turn over but it has power (all lights come on)
Starter is more then likely toast, water in your oil is bad. DO NOT TRY AND START YOUR ENGINE. Take the plugs off and blow compressed air in the holes to get as much water out as you can. You might have already damaged the motor when the water came in the block/crankcase. Water does not compress so when the motor was on the intake stroke it could have broke a piston or the block itself when the water came in. That would explain the water in the oil. Hope for the best, expect the worse.

ok check if your spark plugs are getting spark ,pull wire off spark plug ,get a spark plug dont pull it off the engine get an extra one if you have one easiest way ,if not stick screwdriver where the sparkplug would go place it on engine block so it grounds out on engine dont touch it as its being cranked ,it will shock shit out of you, have some one crank it over there so you can watch if theres a spark coming out ,if you arent getting spark or engine is not rotating look into the starter because if you have power that starter should be rotating unless engine is seized ,or theres a electrical short from water ,thats not allowing power to go to starter ,the spark plug test wont work if you have no power going to engine ,remove starter they test them at auto parts store for free,
RustyhookerIf oils was in the water....replace oil of course and filter. Get wd40 and spray out the inside of rotor cap of distributor. You can blowdry it after and wipe out with paper towels. Takes just few minutes. Make sure cap is in origional position.
Try that....reply if it worked. Typically that cures water issues after we steam clean equipment. Blow dry top of cap if you like.

You're going to end up doing several oil changes. So prepare for that. Just buy some Walmart super tech for it.
