Memorial Weekend
I posted this a couple years ago but now that I am back, want to remind all the newcomers to remember our fallen Heros.
Summer is officially here and it kicks off with BBQ's around the country. In my area it the start of the beach season, for some of you it's the lake or the river. For some of you that don't have water around you just means you are shit out of luck to cool off. But where ever you live in this great country of ours, lets remember what Memorial Day is all about. It's about remembering our fallen soldiers that paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we can keep enjoying the freedoms we have that our fore fathers came here and fought so hard for. No matter what race or religion you are we are all Americans first. So take a moment and reflect on what this weekend is really about. I hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend and God Bless America.

Today I remember my brothers and sister that never made it home or once served! I can't mention there names but I lost two brothers in Afghanistan 2 weeks before they were going home and 3 more to suicide because they left a part of them on the battle field!..You maybe gone but you are certainly not forgotten... God Bless America and I salute!!!
BendTheBarbellI'm glad you made this thread. I was at work yesterday and couldn't believe how many "have a happy memorial day" all excited. I agree we should kick back and celebrate but remind ourselves why we are doing this . the freedom we have. And the lives that are not here anymore because they fought to preserve that freedom.
I'm a marine corps vet but memorial day is not about me. It's about My brothers that arnt with us anymore
And I have much respect for all of you that appreciate the service And honor the fallen.
Edit: I too went fishing this morning. I don't fish regularly but I anyways fish and grill every memorial day. U guys all got the right idea and I hope everyone is having great times with their families and friends.

My father was shot at and seen the most twisted and evil side of humanity when he would tell me stories of war lots of times he could not get the words out, the sad part is once they return home all they came back to was another war but on the same soil they put there lives on the line for, God bless my brother Theo happy memorial day my big brother.
Thank you and a Happy Memorial day to you my young brother bbonds! Keeping you and your family close to my thoughts on this solemn day!

AnonAbsolutely.... Much respect to all our young men in the service and all the older vets that have been there... It hurts my heart to see how some of the older guys have been wounded in so many different ways and also seeing some that are homeless , I hate to see it but they are out there I wish I could help them more
And never forget the ones that are gone... My father in law was a crazy one that done several tours in Vietnam... Died almost two years ago... Cancer
So sorry for your loss brother C! The Vietnam vets are dear to my heart! Unappreciated brothers of valor!
Sorry for your loss and nothing but the highest respect for your father in law. Things need to change, no doubt. We need to start giving more to our heroes. Good government our taxes spent wisely will increase our ability to help vets
RustyhookerSalute to the past and current vets.
Amen brother. Eat some ribs steak and anything you can grill up. Thanks to our vets
Good post bro. Celebrate the brave men and women, but celebrate them by having a great weekend with them, your family and your friends. Now the boat is hitched up and in about a half hour I am heading for the lake
Enjoy and catch a couple fish and cook them up on the grill. Nothing like fresh fish you caught yourself
Amen.
