Levrone 2017

ad

Back in his day, Levrone was my favorite body builder. Although skeptical, I was intrigued when he competed at the 2016 Olympia. He actually came in a lot worse than I thought he would look, and basically took last place. Now I see this video of him claiming he's going to try again. Not to be a dick, but does he have mental problems? Doesn't seem to have a grasp on reality.

Kevin Levrone Confirms He Will Be Competing in 20…: http://youtu.be/cyc8TdTOvn8

Thoughts? How does he qualify for Olympia again without special invite?

He looked great at the Olympia, bar his chicken legs which he couldnt train due to injury
He has been building his ability to train them back up and is now squatting relatively heavy, so I reckon he wont do the O, but will compete in a pro show with better results (better legs)

Be great to see these legends compete in the category they are meant for...masters!

Competing in open is not going to do anything but cost them money to prep for a show even if they have sponsors.

Having some rejuvenation into the Masters would mean they could actually win some money for their efforts while bringing up a part of the sport that has many that would also do well in a comeback!

I agree with anyone that says there are way to many "categories" popping off and turning pro does not have the same prestige as it once did. However, the Masters category was one of the originals and never really took off.

With Flex, Levrone and a few others that may choose to comeback (or some new pros who started later) this would be a MONEY MAKER on its own.

Seeing guys at this age, looking this good, is inspiring. Flex coming back, Dexter looking his best ever. But Kevin has no shot to win the O, Flex either. Sometimes, athletes just won't let go.

As for the Olympia, no one is going to beat Phil, ever. He'll retire as the most decorated Sandow winner of all time. Could he have beaten Dorian or Ronnie in their primes, who knows? But he has no real challenger on their level.

He was training a lot longer than he let on
But that said, muscle memory is real, the nucleus' don't die/disappear
It is sort of like re-inflating a deflated balloon. Unfortunately fat cells are the same

I always heard he grew into shows. Maybe he figures if he's got a little more time at his age he can do better. I don't even think he had that much time to prep for 16 but who knows. The guy is still a beast!!!! If I could even look like him at my age I would happy!

Ya every year after the Olymoia he would come off everything and stop training completely. And drop from the idk 245-260 at 3% bf a and shrink down to like 200,lbs at 15% bf.then 4 months out he would start training and eating again and grow into the show, it's fucking insane. Be always defended his style saying it kept him injury free and said he would burn out if he kept training all year with no show to be working towards. Now he's recently been regretting this and beem thinking how much better could I have done if kept training year round, be came in second a bunch of times so the only thing he could have ddoone is won. So for this year's be decided to keep training all year and not drop 60lbs of muscle and keep improving. Only the most elite genetics could do what he used to do, so what if all those years he actually had an off season like everyone else and bulked all winter. His physique was crazy back then. As for his look last year it wasn't great but the guy hadn't trained or trained seriously for over a decade and a few months out he grew back into that size. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if he was getting his gear from a doctor and ran test deca at prescribed doses (200-400mgs total a week) and a small dose of anavar and a tiny bit of growth,no tren mast and all the other good stuff. Will! See how he looks this year with the new approach.

That's what I heard too! Low doses of gear and superior genetics! I mean, you don't train for a decade and then compete in the Olympia!!!!!! He gets my vote just for that!

I agree that he looks good, he just doesn't look Olympia good. I'm curious what pro show he plans on doing prior.

Yea def not Olympia good but I would like to see him improve in other shows if he does any. You guys hear about the Flex Wheeler return rumors? That would be a trip!
