Under Obama, our federal tax dollars can now be used to fund abortion all over the world. With the stroke of a pen, abortion essentially became a U.S. foreign export.
Again, I don't want my tax money to go towards abortions. However, in the case of rape or incest. If the victim cannot afford the abortion I have no problem using my tax dollars to help her get the attention she needs. I'd rather my money go towards helping those in need rather than paying for an overblown military, or the war on drugs, or tax breaks for the rich!
The cost of an unwanted baby(which is EXACTLY what a baby born from rape or incest is) is astronomically higher than the cost of the procedure. If the victim is forced to have the baby, who pays for it? The religious right which wants her to have it? I don't think so. It falls back on the taxpayer. I don't want to pay for another persons problem!
CleyonI do not agree with abortion, but my real issue with it is the way it's been handled. Like it's a narural right. I think there is a lot of grey area on it, and the biggest constitutional bungle every made was Roe v Wade. The decision should have been left to state legislatures. But everytime the federal government tries another way to pry into our lives it is a travesty.
I doubt anyone on this forum is an advocate of steroids remaining Schedule 3 elicit drugs, well if you advocate other bans on things that only affect the individual using them, then you are doing just as poorly.

As for your other biblical statements old testament laws were abolished. The Old Testament laws are categorized in three groups: the civil, the priestly, and the moral. The civil laws must be understood in the context of a theocracy. Though the Jewish nation in the Old Testament was often headed by a king, it was a theocratic system with the Scriptures as a guide to the nation. Those laws that fall under this category are not applicable today because we are not under a theocracy. In the New Testament we do not see a reestablishment of the civil or priestly laws, but we do see a reestablishment of the moral law. This is why we see New Testament condemnation of homosexuality as a sin.
Like I said... Whatever floats your boat.. If it's religion, that's cool.. But, to tell someone they're an abomination and not accepted because of YOUR religious beliefs...that ain't cool.... It's just a book...not science.. There are NO FACTS behind what your book tells you..
If you choose not to befriend someone because they are gay, black/white, short/tall or whatever.. That's your decision, but, don't force your 'religious' values on society and deny some people their rights because YOUR book says so....NOT COOL...

I don't agree that homosexuality is "natural" I know that some people are born pre-disposed to homosexuality, but that doesn't make it healthy or correct. Some people think that chopping off their own fingers or toes feels good. Are these people normal? Where do you draw the line?

I really haven't ever seen a lot of talk about climate change on Fox, not that I watch TV very often, I'm too busy working. You see the science isn't conclusive, that's why they aren't willing to openly debate it. The climate change people want to shout down the opposition. Notice that it used to be called "global warming", but during the last decade when that didn't happen they changed the name to "climate change"? Read some other works that don't agree with your point of view.

You don't have to be Christian to be a good person. You don't have to be a 'believer' to have moral values! Just look at some within the church itself! I can be just as moral as you EVEN without the book. The book was written with the aim to teach people the rights and wrongs of their society. This was before science came into the picture. I'd rather follow things based on facts rather than words that are passed down from generation to generation....theory that's have CHANGED over time due to whoever was telling the story.
I'm not looking to bust chops either, but, this country was founded with the idea of religious freedom for all...but, more importantly the SEPARATION OF CHURCH FROM STATE! that's where the problem lies... The people who 'believe' want to impose their religious values on all of society EVEN if society doesn't subscribe to this same ideas and dont share the same religious beliefs... Where as people like me want everyone to have their OWN choice for THEMSELVES, so long as it doesn't infringe on my beliefs.

I agree with you. You don't have to be a chirstian to be a good person. I use AAS, sleep around w/ a bunch of women who I never call back & cuss like a salior. To some I'm probably right up there w/the devil himself, but I consider myself a good person and a good father. I try to raise my kids w/the moral & beliefs I was raised with. So that being said everbody has to believe in something...Where is the facts on science?? Like Cleyon said science has changed so much over the years it's crazy. Where's the proof of a big bang? Do you No the history behind that statement? people take it out of contents, when america was being established, states governments wanted their stats to have a main religion. Jefferson was against that--which is said "he believed of Separation of church from State" however, he was pointing out that that was all ready in the constitution--no government religion.
