help a brother out!
Hey guyz I have a tournament comming in 3 months its a mix martial arts tournament and luckily I got a place in there I am suppose to fight in light heavy weight division and the guyz in the tournament are machines they can take my best 100 shots and still be ok! My coach told me this after I participated! The all black belts master of brizilan jujutsu where I am a taekwondo brown belt with a fixed broken knee which still hurts and got trained in American wrestling for 6 years ! And m not scared I love fighting but my coach told me I dont have a chance? Should I still at least try? Or its just welcoming more injuries ? My dream always been to become the best fighter but what u guyz think is that stupid if u don't have a chance and u still wanna get into it?

If you are lacking confidence to win when walking into a fight then your coach didn't properly prepare you. I would see a sports medical professional, if you haven't already, and have him access your old injuries. You don't want to further injure yourself and maybe there is something he can do for your knee, by taking away the unwanted irritation. Does it swell after training and do you have full movement in it? If you aren't healthy before a fight and you choose to do it anyway, you risk possibly never competing again. Almost everyone has some bumps and bruises from training hard, but a nagging injury can often become even worse. Your knee might not bother you much and a sports medicine professional might not be able to do much for you, but I believe in crossing all the T's and dotting all the i's, you want to put yourself in the best position to dominate your opponent.
I will be honest with you as a former pro fighter and champion if you have doubts which you do don't compete. This is one area where doubting one's self is unforgiving and must be overcome at all costs. Also before everyone takes a big shit on his coach he could be trying to protect him we don't know all of the details. Also brother what is your goals by competing if it is for the experience and you don't mind getting injured then go ahead. Is your coach good? Does he make champions if so you might want to listen to him. I am a trainer/teacher in many different areas people may think I am a negative bastard but I tell the truth as I know it. My job is to keep my guys safe not pump their ego up so that they get wiped out. If they have the goods I say it if they don't I say it.
I am all for fulfilling dreams and desires but a lot the time a bad choice will end those dreams and desires forever. You see young guys come here and want to get big over night. They know shit all about nutrition and believe 5 aas compounds at once will do it there first time out. When someone says that is stupid they come back with the sulking attitude of "you don't want me to succeed!" Which is bullshit, others who are wiser know that is not the way to long term success.
So again is your coach good at making champions. Does he have any personal reason to see you fail? If the answer to those questions is Yes he does make champions and No he has no reason to see me fail. Then listen to him and stop going everywhere until someone agrees with what you want to do! Good luck brother.
Spam the shit out of HADOUKEN.
go for it mate, im a black tank top in muay thai, have my black belt in taekwondo when i was 18 and also train in zen do kai, i have fought in australian competitions called knees of fury, for thai and ive had 4 bouts, i won 3 lost one, doesnt matter what anybody says or does, you cop hip on the chin its lights out, no matter how good or big it is, something i learnt is that if you intimidate the other fighter before you even start, half the fight is already won, so dont be affraid, it luck of the draw bro, the one that i lost i ended up with a shattered sternum, 4 broken ribs, a broken jaw and a broken nose, he was the under dog, and supposedley off the couch, he looked out of shape, but guess what he knocked me down, he grabbed me in a snaking hands style grapple and gave me one vicious knee, followed by two jabs and an elbow, game over and off to the hospital for me, the other fights i was the under dog, and i manged to end all 3 fights by tko, get in there and give it your best bro, you may be suprised, no sex a month before bro.
russel12Thanx my man well I recently had a broken jaw everything was good in my favor but a kick on his head and I lost my balance bam on the ground he jumped on me like a crazy dog landed knee right on my face didn't know what happed after tho my buddy said he kept throwing hammer fists coz referee didnt stop the fight! Lol
also = yolo! win or lose you get bragging rites for jumping in the ring, nitti is a fighter, he would have the best advice.
hahah broken jaws suck! i lost weight when it happened, i had mine wired shut for about 9 weeks or so was supposed to be 12 but i could not handle it, its amazing what you can blend up and eat, and the combinations you make to eat, i was drinking heaps of weight gainers, but then i started getting creative, blend everything up and add water, it thins it enough to swallow, although, my back teeth have never lined up since, and in the winter it aches in the cold for some reason, as for my sternum.......... that took nearly a year to heal, and still get pain if i lay on my stomach, when you get in that ring stare him down, straight in the eyes, walk up touch gloves, and give him a growl, take your mouth guard out and spit on the ground, turn your back on him, whilst walking away turn back around and blow him a kiss and laugh, its all about the fear, he will see your confidence and doubt himself, like you already are, half the fight is won by intimidating him. good luck
russel12Wow never tried that kinda thing lol I should tho usually its me who get scared from other guyz confidence
dude its all confidence, i walked into a bar last week for a cheeky pint by myself, there was 5 bikers all sitting at the bar all drunk, they aqll had there colours on tatts hanging out and all there big gold rings, they were eye balling me, i eyeballed them strate back, walked strate up in between them, stepped on one of there toes on purpose and said to the bar girl, pint of draught thanks love, then proceeded to pull a stool up inbetween them, i got my beer and smashed it down in two mouthfulls made a loud noise -aaaahhhh-= that hit the spot, grab us the same again hey love, did the same again and slammed my glass down, laughed stood up and walked to the gaming room, played for ten mins went back to get another beer and they got up too leave, i smiled at one them, he gets on his phone while leaving............. you know why?? because in there mind they couldnt understand why i wasnt scared, they didnt know who i was whati was about, and even moredoes he have a gun? or ten mates on the way around the corner.......its called the psycology of fear mate, the other fighter doesnt know you or what your capable offm thats what you want, scare him, make him think twice, make him think your going to killhim with one punch.
russel12Wow man my friend always tried to convince me that it does matter but I was too stupid to even try it out! Thanx again man! I usually am a smiling guy! I always have a smile on my face when other guy try to stare me down I just fucking smile lol! Coz most of the time I know they cnt do shit!lol
Props for telling about your loss, a lot of guys leave those out of their story telling. I'm sure you came back smarter and stronger after that.
AnonYour coach is for.shit,, nothing... a negative motherfucker
Take that shit to the ground.. go for the chin as much as possible kick them fuckin ribs too if u can then take it to.the ground and get yourself an arm bar or a r.n.c. whatever you can get but do NOT go in this shit with what your coach said in your head you have to go in there with high confidence and cocky as hell and be psyched up like a mofo.. fake a mofo out if u have to
Hows your stand up? you got knock out power? whether its in the right or left, set that shit up, make him see stars take him down and get the submission hold that shit like a anaconda til the ref pulls you off
Til that bell rings you stare that mofo down like a steak and you aint ate in a week
You gotta have faith in confidence in yourself or dont get in the cage
You can do.it
You will regret it with what if's if you dont get in there and try.. do that shit
