Hello fellow eroiders
We'll today is a sad day for me if I decide to take the doctors news. Today I found out that I may have to have lower back surgery due to working out and the strain I put on my back. He's not 100% sure he wants me to go that route yet he wants a second doctor to look at me first. I'm hoping he's just being to forward
On going under the knife. I'd rather drop the weights all together than have to miss work then have to roll around in a wheel chair. The pain I'm having lower right part of my back is like a knife being stabbed in it everytime I sit up or try to sit up straight. I have to hunch over to not put any of my top weight in the back. Any thoughts to others been or in this spot. I don't ever go to heavy on the weight due to being on roids. I slowly upped weight to to how comfy it felt and always did low reps with heavier weight.

Damn. Back surgery at 22? At your age, hopefully you'll recover quickly and get back soon. Good luck
Ya that's what I'm hoping if I have to have back surgery. Just hate the thought of it though at my age. Guess it happens though. Cause my weight is 170 and I was throwing 290 up in the bench for my last bench and rep weight was 250 for 5 sets. Was getting everything up by 20-50 pounds
Like I said I don't know anything about this area and they just brought up the surgery and that make me think wheel chair lol. I dk but hopefully it's not to bad and I can be like you friends up and out and about but not 100%

Sorry brother I was aiming more towards you since you've had this type of problem. How did you deal with it after all the shots Nd so forth? Cause I'm younger and Ill have more time to recoup but will it effect me long term benching curling and cleans. Cause right now it hurts to even get into my SUV and not muh of a drop to sit in a SUV.
Sorry to hear that. I have had issues with my back for a while. 2 badly slipped discs. I have done everything from cortical steroid epidurals to cortisone shots. Therapy is what helped me most. Also I NEVER dead lift. I know it's important but I can't risk it. Surgery is always the last resort. If they are talking surgery then you must really be messed up. They don't like cutting anywhere near the spinal cord unless they have to. Good luck. I hope it works out. Moving this to Off Topic. It isn't related to AAS or the site.
waltrare you sure it's the type of surgery where your in a wheelchair for a while?
i've had friends have lower back surgeries that were in and out same day and up and moving fine, obviously they had to go easy on it afterwards for a while, but it might not be as serious as you imagine
