Heaviest Deadlift Maxout

ad

Today before starting up my new cycle, I was able to Dead lift 485 pounds for 1 rep with no wraps chalk and belt only. I am 5ft 10 and 180 pounds

Whats the heaviest everyone else has maxed out with deadlift on or off gear?

Champion Of The Mind's picture

Locked out 445 lbs on DL today... like nothing... 500 lbs DL in two months.. haha piece of cake ;D

BTW I'm 183.5 lbs

jansen's picture

Awesome job bro, 445lbs is my current best. I get some strange looks being 6'3 and 195 lifting 445 completely raw no straps or belt . For some reason all these kids in the gym are always walking around wearing belts and straps no matter what they're working, gives me more incentive to lift raw lol. I bet you get some pretty strange looks at your gym too.

Champion Of The Mind's picture

LOL some of them do, they are all caught up with sumo style and I don't like it bro. I know exactly what you are talkig about.. I see people wearing squatting suits and squatting 315 LMAO

jansen's picture

Ive tried sumo and its just not for me. I squat and dead with my feet rather close together, im just stronger in that stance.

you guys realize this post is three years old.. i commented on it because I was reading EVERYTHING under the terms DEADLIFT LOL

495 @ 200lbs. I don't feel the need to go heavier 2.5x body weight is gtg for me.

I'm starting to lift lighter these days with more reps, since I have been lifting heavy with low reps since 2008. Figured id switch it up, feels good.

I stop at 8 plates. No sense at 40 years old risking everything to show off. Most of the time I just do 3x10 at 315.

WINNING's picture

Agreed. I'm might go up to 405, but then I ask wtf am I doing. I like reps anyway, def no need to be showing off and get an injury.

Pale's picture

Dead lifts are when I listen closest to my body, in particular my back. I don't mind letting my back get a little angry but I always stop when it says "stop". It is arguably my favorite lift and I would prefer to be able to keep doing them into the future.

Deadlift has the highest potential out of just about any exercise to break you. I've been on the broken side of this ending up in surgery. The thing was I was lifting a weight that I could easily lift. I was goofing around with the boys and grabbed the weight with form being the last thing on my mind. As I stood up it felt like a warm glass of water was poured down the back of my leg. I had rolled my back while lifting. Within minutes I couldn't even walk. It wasn't until this last 8 weeks that I got up the courage to start going heavy again on deads and squats. I'm still scared and I hope that keeps me from becoming complacent. Form is everything!!!

Pale's picture

You got that right! The younger guys I work with, I always take their phone and video them doing dead lifts so they can fix their form. It really helps get them dialed in. (Knock on wood) Nobody has had a blowout on my watch..

sic26's picture

I agree with thst . I mean video recording i do a lot so I can work on my form since I don't have a partner
Never hurt my back b4 was not bad. I still don't want that feeling again

I took some time off from deads for 4 months due to injuries just got back into deadlifting again pulled 405 for 8 reps 455 for 3 reps, haven't done gear yet. Im 200 lbs and been training for 1 year, last year this time me and my buddies thought 135 was heavy haha.

Dstack's picture

Yeah never did to much squatting just a shit load of deads, I made it my main focus cause my bros dead was well into the 400s so I was extra stoked to on dead day, today I put up 405 for 10

hustlecoke's picture

Pulled 425 for 3 at 5'11" 160lbs, no prior cycle.

adonis's picture

Never used gear yet. I've pulled 633 in a meet at 214lbs bodyweight. I'm 5'11". I've done 600x2 in the gym. Rep weight I did 405x15 one day and the following week did 500x6 just trying out sumo. I am a conventional puller though. I don't have hip strength to lock out heavy weight sumo.

Plifter5808's picture

5'11 - 208ib - 22yrs old, I pulled 550 in the gym on gear and pulled 525 recently at a meet.

anabolicmaniac's picture

500 on cycle for 3 reps.. 275 on gas, 255 clean..

Werold's picture

I'm 6'1" and 225lbs. I'm crawling up slowly at 465 for 1. I've only just recently started messing around with orals only.

Werold's picture

Just thought I'd input an update. Up to 235lbs and just pulled 500lbs for 1. Felt pretty good.

highstrung's picture

best pull ever was when I wasnt on gear. 6 feet tall and at the time was about 207 lbs. Pulled 425 for one. I know I could have done more. Im actually starting to train for a meet in a few months. Today i actually did deadlift. Just a small 3 sets of triples. 335x3 355x3 375x3.......all went up with such ease but didnt wanna go more. I have a strict training regiment im doing and gotta stick to it. My cycle ended 2 weeks ago. Next week i do 3 sets of singles. 385,405,425. Last time i did 425 was about 6 months ago so im curious to see how it feels. Oh right now my weight is up to 219 as of today. If next week feels as good as i think and hope i should hit 500 in 2 months. Ill update if anyone cares.haha
BTW gym rat.....nice max out at your stats. I only did deadlift on occasions. This is the first time in my life im actually training for it and incorporated into weekly routine

highstrung's picture

update on my progress....im off cycle and natural test fully recovered and patiently waiting till the end of the year to start my next cycle. I finished cycle about 5 1/2 weeks ago. I have increased my one rep deadlift rather nicely over the past month. This week I pulled 495 X 1..... Body weight leveled out about 209.goal is 525 by end of november. Should be obtainable. Cant wait to see what I pull when im mid cycle on my next run.

gymmrat24's picture

Good stuff man, Keep it up with the strict training regiment and let me know how your progress goes!
and thanks man, deadlift is my strong suit, since I have long ass arms, I hope to get up to 500pounds by November

btw how do you find out about meets ? I've always wanted to do them, I think I could hold my own for my weightclass

highstrung's picture

gymrat....real sorry bro. Totally forgot you asked about meets. 2 kids...two jobs....and the gym. I cant remember shit. anyway here is a good place to keep an eye on as far as meets are concerned....

Thanks and I will. I could have gone much more this past week but glad I didnt. My back was real tight for a few days since I just started training for deads. As far as meets go....with your numbers you should favor very well. I know usually when they are because my buddy training me knows alot of people that run them. I assume websites. Tell ya what....ill ask him if there is specific sites etc this weekend or where to find out for meet in your area and ill get back to you. Are you in the U.S.?

gymmrat24's picture

Oh ya you def get those days where you roll outta bed and say fml lol, and I would appreciate that bro if you could ask him, I am in the US

gymmrat24's picture

good stuff, what are you taking in ur cycle right now?

Werold's picture

That would be very, very good for that weight if it was true.
